The studio was less seedy than I had anticipated, but it wasn't nearly as charming as the corner of the playroom where I used to lick-and-stick myself with images of Bazooka Joe & friends. The vibe of 70's hits pumping over the speakers immediately put me at ease, because they were the same songs I listened to back in the "tattoo studio" of my youth. How would I describe the pain? As the artist drew the outline, it was like burning sensations I had felt before, manageable, yet without the scent of singed hair. My masculinity levels surged. Howeverrrrrrrr... the color fill was a new experience altogether. I emailed the team here and they got back to me quickly. I sent them a mock up of the image I wanted to work with so they had an idea, as well as, the location I preferred. When I arrived, the artist was able to do a transfer for me and we opted to move the placement a little bit higher up my wrist as I have a dominate tendon that could have been more painful and made it look odd with the movements. I liked that she advised me on her logic and why she thought it was best to move it up about an inch. The tattoo took about 30 minutes and was wrapped up nicely. The place was very clean and everyone was very professional. It healed up nicely and still looks great. I get a lot of compliments on it.
