This place does not care about you or your animal. They just want to make as much money as possible. They were recommended to me by a friend when I first moved to the area and discovered a growth on my dog after a grooming appointment. I will say, the surgery went well, but of course they pushed for additional things like a teeth cleaning that according to his groomer and previous vet, they didn't see any need for. They told me the surgery would be anywhere from $1,491.88 to $2,379.77 depending on several factors. I even brought my own cone from home to avoid the $29.57 they wanted to charge me for a new one. So, when my total was $2,453.75 and they didn't give me any explanation as to why, I was upset. But like I said, the surgery went well, so I didn't say anything. This was after already paying $711 for a fine needle biopsy and several vaccines. Six months later they tell me he needs another Bordetella vaccine. I didn't realize they do a six month vaccine instead of the pretty standard year long one. I take him in and they charge me $128.20 for a Bordetella vaccine that's only good for 6 months. Then recommend I get more tests for who knows what even though they did everything six months again during his surgery. Then when I call and ask about ordering his Simperica Trio from Chewy as a Cyber Monday deal where I can get 6 months for $130, they can't do it, but they can offer me 30% off an online order through them later in the year! Even if there is some rule that they can't okay the prescription, I think it's still a ploy for them to try to make more money. I know they will reply to this and make it sound like they have so much sympathy and compassion and like I'm upset over one little thing, but it's a combination of all the things they do and the way I've been treated every single time I go there. That is why I am listing out exact amounts so that they can't argue with it. Don't take your animal here unless you're looking to just give them all of your money. They don't care about you or the health of your pet and it's evident in the rude, dismissive way the front staff treats you from the second you walk in the door to the time you leave. I understand a business has to make money, but they make it abundantly clear that they don't care about helping you or your pet, just what you're willing to pay them. read more

A bit on the expensive side of pet care, and some of the policies are bit irritating when it comes to vaccines, when at times finances are tight and treatment is already expensive BUT the care my dog receives is like no other. I was having issues with a sick dog and her getting seen at my previous vet that I had been going to for her entire life, In desperation I reached out to Stringtown and they got her in within the hour, without ever going to them before. We did end up, sadly, losing Idgie, but for my Buddy, I have not went anywhere since! My son and daughter in law even now take my grand dog there for his care! To wrap it up in one sentence, this place is disorganized but is able to get your pet in quickly. If you are willing to read, this is a summation of my experience for a dental at this location. We just moved to the area and were looking for a closer vet. We were pushed to make a decision as I had just looked in my dogs mouth and noticed a slab fracture on his back molar. This can't be comfortable and I wanted to get him in right away. They were able to get me in same day which I was very grateful for. On their website they have coupons and the reason I reached out to them was that they had one for a free exam (saves you $80) and half off a dental, which was about $230 in savings on the actual cleaning. I was excited to save a little money and hopefully find the vet we would use for all 4 of our pets. I gave them the name of the vet we used to go to and my previous vet sent the records over. I did request a quote for a dental and they told me they do not do quotes over the phone until they see the pet. Why are you hiding prices? When we showed up they handed me a generic quote that went from about $480- $1500. After an exam and weight check on my pet, they should be able to provide a more specific quote or at least a tighter range, not a $1000 range. The vet then told me "too bad you didn't come in 2 days earlier as we just were running a 50% of dental." Why would you tell a client they are missing out on savings? But I followed up with, actually it is still on your website and that is the reason I chose to bring him in to this clinic. They declined giving me the discount about 3 different times but after lingering in awkward silence the tech said she would ask the manager if it can be done, which they eventually did. They also made it seem like this wasn't an urgent matter and that I wouldn't want to get him in until the end of the year. Don't assume this of your clients. A slab fracture on a tooth needs attention. As a human, would you want to wait 8 months to get the procedure done? I'm confused as to why they assumed I didn't want to address this ASAP. During this appointment they mentioned that he would need to be up to date on both rabies and the distemper/parvo/hepatitis and lepto. I don't like giving all these vaccines all at once so I asked if they could do a one year rabies today and then since they were able to honor the coupon for the dental, I'd like to get him in tomorrow AM to do the dental. I also asked if the lepto was required or if we could just do the three way vaccine, which she said was fine. But why did she tell me this was a requirement and put it on my quote sheet to begin with? I also declined the go home $65 dental gel to apply once a week. Anyway, the vet comes in and gives the vaccine and then hands me a 3 year rabies tag. I specifically asked that he only get the one year. I didn't make a fuss, accidents happen and I hoped that going forward it would be better. The next morning I drop him off. When going over the plan for the day, the tech mentions he will get the rabies vaccine and the lepto vaccine. I remind her that he just got the rabies yesterday so please do not give him one again and also that I specifically asked he not get the lepto. This is a disease that dogs can get from contaminated water sources with wildlife pee. He's a backyard dog in a suburban neighborhood and walks on leash on sidewalks. I don't want to cause a scene and so I just remind them of these things and I leave him there. I get a call about an hour later saying that they do not have his records from the previous vet. I assume they are looking for vaccine history to see if he needs to get a 1 yr version or the multi year option. I remind her that the vet did send the records and the receptionist yesterday confirmed they got 29 pages from my previous vet and remind her again that he already had rabies yesterday and I do not want the lepto. She said she will look into his file and check. I'm feeling rather anxious at this point on if he will receive a dental or if their disorganization will cause a mistake and he accidentally receive a different procedure or if he will get another rabies and a lepto against my wishes. Finally I get the call he is awake and well and ready for pickup. I go in to pick him up. The receptionists are sweet and check me out quickly. The moment I hand over my card for his about $1100 bill, the tech comes out with his go home bag and beings explaining how it went. He got three teeth removed and when she gets to the pain meds she says he should get a whole pill once a day. Thankfully she catches a mistake as his dose is only supposed to be 1/2 a galliprant pill for pain once a day. She updates it. She also pulls out the dental gel kit for $65 that I declined yesterday. I remind her I declined it and they refund me the $65 for it. I left quickly after that, determined to write my experience for others to see. I'll never go back. Thank God my dog is okay. read more

I have used Stringtown for my veterinary needs ever since I got my pup during the beginning of the pandemic. They have been so great with me & my pets. They helped me through all the new puppy shots & neuter etc. their prices aren't awful either. Not sure if they're still doing it but they have been doing curbside, you call the number on the door & they check you in that way. I think they have started letting one owner in for appointments but you have the option to continue curbside. They do a great job of keeping you in the loop between talking to the vet techs & the actual vet. I have no complaints whatsoever & I trust them with all of our veterinary needs. read more

Brought one of our dogs into get an allergy shot We have two dogs and I told them we would bring them both into update their shots next week. We had switched vets. We were a new client. They refused to administer the allergy shot unless I updated the dog shots that day. It would cost triple what I expected to pay. The billing agent also said a Doctor had to see her. A technician couldn't give her the shot. For those who know? A technician visit saves you money. The dog was in no pain. It was an allergy shot? The Doctor had already seen her. I had to make an appt at this hospital because my pet could not be seen at her normal vet. I appreciated them getting her in so quickly since she had not been seen there before. Before they even evaluated her they wanted me to sign an authorization if they needed to oxygenate her and other charges for almost $1000. I said no, to do the exam and go from there. They wanted then to do urine, bloodwork and x-rays for again almost $1000. After agreeing to urine and blood work, she ended up having a UTI and some issues with being pre-diabetic. They said that she needed to be on a special prescription food, and wouldn't write the prescription, but wanted me to purchase from their website. After looking it up through a well trusted website that I have been purchasing from for years, I found that the dog food was almost $45.00 cheaper then their cost. I called multiple times for the script as it was not included when I picked her up. after 4 phone calls and two days later, they finally had it ready and I had to come in and pick up. The would not send it to the vendor online and would not email it to me. After finally getting notification it was ready and after almost $700.00 of medical bills later, they charged me $6.99 for the script because I wouldn't buy it from them!! I will never ever go back to this dr. or refer them EVER! My brother and sister in law take their 3 dogs to this veterinary, they will no longer go here because this veterinary took advantage of a situation that was heart breaking for my family and now they lost their dog. they took their 3 month old puppy to this vet because he had diarrhea due to swallowing a piece of blanket. they told my family that he was very ill and dying and that they would have to do surgery which cost about $4000, ridiculous cost. the other option was give him meds and hope he survived. my sister in law was devastated. the veterinary gave another option of some program that would pay for the surgery but they had to give up the puppy. so being in a devastated state my family wanted the puppy to survive so they had no choice but to make the decision in order for the puppy survived. But my sister in law called the very next day to see how the puppy Nova was doing and they told her oh he is doing perfectly fine and he is acting normal and playing. They took advantage of the situation and kept the puppy when it wasn't even the case of the puppy dying. they did not do surgery and they exaggerated on how ill the puppy was when that wasn't the case. We liked our old veterinary office, but it seems like there was always a long wait to get pets into them, and their costs started getting to high. We decided to try Stringtown Animal Hospital after hearing good things about the practice. I was able to get my cat Daniel in the same day for a UTI issue, which never would have happened at the old place. The practice was very clean, their staff was very friendly and receptive, and the vet was very kind, knowledgeable and excellent in explaining what was going on. They do like to run a lot of tests, which are expensive, but they all do that. They were not pushy with the options though, explaining why the tests were beneficial. We demand to know where my dog is at, you lied your way to steal our dog, I have my 3 dogs at this clinic, but this time my 12 week old dog ate a piece of blanket and he started getting diarrhea, I called the vet and they gave me an appointment first the next morning but then my baby started throwing up so I called again and they said bring him in, so I did once I got they took me to a room which my baby threw up again off the back just for xray and blood work was almost $700 I opted for just the xray so it went down to almost $500, they said he might need to stay overnight so I said ohh I did not know you guys stay here she said no we monitor them threw a camera which I was like noo I'll take him home, so they took him to the back then I get a call from the vet that he's very very ill the way she said it I panicked I did not want my baby to die but $3900 on the spot I did not have so I called my husband told him and asked him to call because all that was to much for me, but they gave him 3 options and one was giving up our baby to save his life we did, this was all yesterday, today I called and he's fine I'm like wait what? How he was very very ill. So I'm researching and come to learn these peeps could have gave me other shopping around options for me afford to save my babies life and still have him home. I'm glad he's ok I just hate that I had to give him up for that to magically happen. We believe they prayed on our sadness and desperation to take our dog. Stringtown you have an ethical obligation you took and oath to do what's right and took advantage of our desperation. I'm heart broken. But will never ever go back to this place again with any of my babies. We took our kitten here for her first check up. They tried to charge me over $300 for vaccines, fecal analysis, leukemia testing, etc. etc. etc. The quote to have her spayed was $585. The fecal sample I brought from home was too dry for worm testing. The vet told me in front of my 7 and 11 year old daughter that children go blind from contracting worms from pets and showed them a poster of a child with white eyes/blind from worms. We are so impressed with this place! We have been going to great southern animal hospital for many years and thousands of dollars. Today our fur baby had a stroke and we needed to have a vet see her asap. Our vet was extremely rude and told us to take her to med vet or wait until tomorrow. We called stringtown animal hospital and she was seen an hour later. Unfortunately we had to put her down but the compassion they had was unbelievable. Our Mia Bella was in on December 22, 2022, and ended up being there all night. I do wish there was at least a vet tech there for animals kept overnight in case of an emergency. If I could give this place negative stars I would. The Covid mandate has ended yet they still don't let you see your animals even in critical condition and that's because they are just collecting your money. Let me first start by saying they misdiagnosed both my dogs. After taking them to medvet it was determined they each had completely different diagnosis than they were given by this place. After 2 years (which I feel so bad I even brought my dogs here to begin with.. ) they prescribed my yorkie heart mumor pill that put him in renal failure.. while keep in mind prior to this his kidney function tested perfect.. then after collecting my money they asked if I would like to put him down.. they handed me my family member covered in throw up and 4 lbs lighter than he came in.. I later than evening had to put him down due to extreme suffering.. Then before I could find a new vet my other dog who is partially blind since the age of 10 requires a dry eye medication that he would need for life. They would not continue the prescription unless I took my other dog in who they had already seen 6x.. his condition was not going to change as that he is partially blind.. Finally, when I had found a new vet they denied seeing my dogs at all.. and refused to send any of my dogs precious medical records. If you love your pets please never take them here this place is disgusting, foul, greedy, soulless. I could go on and on but all I can say is don't give this place a dime. They just use it for their own salaries and to renovate their building. I was traveling out of state when my RV broke down. On top of dealing with the stress of the RV being fixed, trying to find a mechanic, paying for a motel, and having my dog and two cats with me, my one senior cat Leonardo developed a cough and sneeze.. upper respiratory infection. I called two vets Monday morning and neither one would see us because they had never seen Leonardo before (wouldn't take new patients). Then I called Stringtown Animal Hospital and Charlene at the front desk was so sweet and wonderful and she said they could take Leonardo that morning ! I took him and they quoted me a fair price and didn't so anything that didn't need to be done to him. I never worry about money - I mean I DO but what I mean I'm more concerned about my baby being poked and prodded unnecessarily and adding more stress for him. The Doctor, Ellie Scott was just so wonderful with my baby and really gave me an accurate diagnosis and worked with me being out of town and traveling - in regards to his medication and future treatment. Request denied to attend my 8yr old son's (with Spina Bifida) surgery or else termination Client Relations Specialist - Grove City, OH I actually really enjoyed the work, my co-workers were kind, helpful, and encouraging like the Client Relations Lead -- she was incredible and so helpful and kind.. but the Owner was cruel. I was interviewed (got the job but during interview) I was told by the Owner that the company is flexible and family comes first but when I gave them notice and written request to attend my sons 27th-30th surgeries my requests were denied and I asked further what would happen if I attended the surgeries and missed work anyway, grounds for termination because it is within my 90 days and I haven't earned my 3 unpaid personal days yet until I hit 90 days. I was floored, my co-workers were floored but not surprised, I guess the owners has no family, kids, only dogs and doesn't have compassion or understanding for those who actually have children and a family to go home too (her dogs stay with her at work in her office) .. Anyways, I requested a meeting with the Owner and questioned what was told to me during our interview .. She said that " you (I) may have misunderstood what she meant by flexible and family comes first. What I meant was that you have weekends off to spend with your family and that we are flexible when you choose your hours to work (9-6 M-F or 4 - 10s)" I was in shock and told tried to fight for my case including that I am catching on extremely quickly and doing well with the actual work itself, even the Client Relations Lead tried standing up for me and talked to the Owner but nothing changed ... Owner said she doesnt think its turning out to be a good working relationship because I am not going to be there as often as they had thought in my interview.... ALL over my sons surgeries and requested time off in far enough advanced notice. When I started the client relations lead was training me and two other girls who started within a day of me .. ( i was full time M-F 9-6p the other two only worked 2 days a week) thats how low staff they are.. not to mention I couldn't stand the phone going past 3 rings but its so normal there to go to voicemail because of short staffing up front, but what I don't get is WHY not have more compassion for your staff and more people would stick around.... It really is so sad though because I truly did enjoy my job and how fast paced it was and my co-workers... It makes more sense now since finding out from my coworkers before exiting the building that they have gone thru 10-12 people (in my position) in the past year mostly "due to the complete lack of compassion for personal/work-life relations" Delete read more

This office really cares! I ran my dachshund into their office without an appointment in an emergency. They were all booked, but still got him in. They kept him for 2 nights. I had called about my dog symptoms and signs and scheduled an appointment for 2 days later. They had said it was a UTI and recommended me doing blood which I had set up for the following appointment. Never once did they mention that it could possibly be poymetea disease and I need to do something about it as soon as I was able to so I didn't. The next day she was worse and it was late at night. I had called OSU and as soon as I explained what was going on and how old my dog was, the instantly told me it could be that and I needed to bring her in right away. My dog was days away from dying and they didn't press the situation in any kind of way or express to me that it could potentially could have been this. After everything was said and done she got her surgery with OSU and I had called back to them to explain my frustrations with them, the doctor was not so much nice and telling me since I had declined blood work that there was nothing more they could do. With OSU not even seeing my dog and telling me that this was the problem I feel like this is not a great vet to go to and I wouldn't recommend going to for your animals. read more

the first visit here was good - 5 stars. But it changed today when I called to check the price of a simple, but needful test for our stud dog. First the woman I spoke to did not seem to know how to talk "dog", then spoke to me as if we might be puppy millers. I was direct and told her we owned a number of our breed, one being a stud dog. Then I asked the price of the test we wanted...she said she would need to speak to the vet, as not many people asked for the test. When she came back she said the test would be up to $300.00 and we had to come in first. This is too much for a simple brucellosis test, and I said so. We have had it done before on dogs now past. We are breeders of over 30 years, yet breed very few litters. We have AKC champions, obedience title holders, and a AKC champion agility title holder to our credit. The simple test I asked for should be done on any breeding male before he ever breeds a bitch. Yet this vet tech knew zilch about it, and further upset me with the tone she spoke to me in - as if I was a backyard breeder trying to get away with something - the gall ! Here is the low down dummy :if any one of your dogs comes up with brucellosis, you must destroy your entire kennel of dogs ! Now do you understand why people need to test ? read more
