I have been stopping at Stripling's for years because it is a joy to wander around the aisles looking at all the food items and picking up a few things to try. It makes for a good pit stop for travelers on the Florida-Georgia Parkway although I suspect they do a killer business with the folks drawn to the recreation opportunities on Lake Blackshear and at Georgia Veterans State Park. We travelers are just icing on the cake. The current location is a new building they built and moved to a few years ago. On the south side of Warwick you can see the original wood frame store building still hanging in. Their second location is now occupied by another business trying to imitate them and get some of their business. I am just fine with continuing to stop at Stripling's. read more

Was headed to Lee County for our football and had to stop by the original since so many new fronts are popping up around our area. The original did not disappoint. Had a hot jalapeño sausage and bought two different styles of jerky. Had butchers working while we were there with all kinds of raw meat available for purchase. Had a grocery section and also the more traditional gas station food and drink options. Only down side was there was only one register open and it took forever to get checked out and back on the road. read more

I live in Bogart so Striplings in where I shop a few times a month . I just had to tell a quick story that happened a few weeks ago . I was on my way to visit a friend that lived on lake keowee in South Carolina . She wrote me a quick text that asked if I could stop by to pick up a few food items. I was a little bit late starting out on my road trip but I stopped by Striplings to get the things she asked. I was helped by several staff member to find those more unusual items ( my friend is a gourmet cook) but I panicked at check out when I realized my food would need to have an ice pack or something cold to keep it fresh !! One of the staff women immediately told me she could help and came back with ice cube bags to pack my food as compliments of Striplings !! The onion & cheese sausage I bought has almost no cheese. It had a bad taste, not even equivalent to far cheaper Johnsonville sausage you can get at any grocery store. Even if it was the cheapest sausage in the store I would never buy it again due to the taste. I am rating it 2 stars instead of one since the store was very clean, the inventory well-organized and the staff were nice. Hopefully my experience was a one-off miss on a single product, but I will never come back. read more

It's a great store but the people are truly incredible. A friend of mine is terminally ill and mentioned that her grandmother used to make Hummingbird cakes for her. I called Striplings because I am out of state to see if I could get one to her. Allison, from Striplings, coordinated everything for me and then volunteered to drive the cake over herself when her shift ended. There will always be a special place in my heart for Stripling's. I remember when I was little if we were good all week we could have a sausage dog and a yoohoo for breakfast. That was back when the store was in the building where Salt Lick is now. If you want the best sausage you have ever eaten, come here and get the medium smoked sausage. I thought that all sausage tasted like this growing up, but then I realized that this was something special. Their jerky is really good too (and I'm not typically a fan of jerky), and they know it. It's a little pricey but worth it. They have a lot of different delicious products, and the valdalia onion salad dressing is worth trying for sure. They have a lot of other things you may need too, that way you don't have to run all the way to Walmart. They have an ice machine outside that is always in order too. This place is awesome.. the sausage is I guess the bread and butter and it is good...... pan, smoked, link, fresh.... all wonderful depending on your tastes.. I live in Atlanta and their steaks and other meats are the best I have found anywhere. Steaks are kind of pricey but worth every penny. Just a neat place to browse through. The big thing IMO is the people, front to back, side to side, from the cashier in front to the guys doing any custom cut of meat you want, I think they are the nicest people I have ever met in any retail establishment anywhere. Wonderful beef jerky and hoop cheese that is so hard to find anywhere near me. Lots of cool specialty items like jellies, rubs other neat stuff kind of pricey but neat as can be. Grab a BBQ sandwich to go or link dog... both really really good. Keep it up guys read more

We returned home from vacation to find a gift box of smoked links that had been sitting on our door step for 5 days. Of course they were no longer cold. When I called for a replacement, they simply said "hope you enjoyed your vacation. We're not responsible." Sad approach to customer service. I went to college in Atlanta and grew up in Tallahassee, meaning from time to time I'd have to drive through South Georgia to and fro my schooling and along the way on GA-300 stood Stripling's, one of the last outposts before the bleak drive up I-75 to the ATL. Striplings is a gas/convenience store but with a full butchery section built in. Try the homemade jerky and get yourself some sausage to go - you won't regret it. Great little store with unique items. Their jerky is very good, but a tad salty for my taste. I do have a big thing of the seasoning, however, and it's great for cooking. We've also tried their jellies and stuff, and overall this place has good products, but is just a tad pricey. read more

It is kind of crazy having two nice general stores across the street from each other out in the middle of nowhere. But here you have it. Stripiling's tag "You Never Sausage a Place". is classic. There is a meat section along with various rows of food stuffs. The staff is friendly and it is a worthy stop. My only negatives are, I think SaltLick's jalepeno and cheese sausage is better and I don't know why ANY country store would ever use folded egg in their breakfast biscuits. That just turned me off. We filled our truck up and tried to go inside to buy a coke...some punk kid who worked there would not let us in...said they were closed (actually did not even have the courtesy to say it but instead made a slashing motion across his throat.). Truly, there isn't much I could say about this place that hasn't already been said. I am not a big fan of jerky or anything, but it is okay here. I won't really touch on that, because it's not really a major concern for me. They do have excellent meat, though. I have been visiting Stripling's for years. Their sausage is the main attraction for me. I love the jalapeño sausage myself, but it is really all good. I don't feel that you could go wrong with any selection. It's even more convenient now that Salt Lick is also in the area for competition. It's also a good store, but I go to Stripling's simply out of tradition and I have a Salt Lick closer to my house anyway (as well as a couple of other general stores). This is also one of the best places to get a good cut of steak. Their rib eyes are excellent. If you like to grill then you need to stop in and get some real meat. Great store! read more

This place has a wide variety of specialty items like old fashioned candies, cakes, sauces, seasonings, jerky, sandwiches, plus it's got a butcher shop and gas station. Yes, you're probably going to pay more than grocery store price if you buy groceries here, but there are plenty of novelty and unique items you may not find many places. They also have their own brands you won't find anywhere else. Be prepared to spend some time looking around if you enjoy browsing, like me. If you want to take home some premium meats from the butcher, bring your cooler. Look for the big pink pigs on either side of the building. Those things crack me up. :) read more

They sale Fresh Beef Jerky on the counter by the registers. It has got to be the BEST jerky I've every had in my life! The texture is nice and dusted with black pepper. At first bite you notice the black pepper dusted on it's exterior but nothing remarkably different from any other jerky. After the seventh or eighth bite and explosion of flavor bursts in your mouth, the jerky starts dissolving in your mouth and every bite after that releases more flavor. It has a slight heat to it mid way through to the end but very slight and absolutely the perfect mix! At $26 a pound you can't afford a ton of it but ask for $6 worth and enjoy it. If you will not be back in the area for awhile, then get $10 worth and you'll still beat your self up for not getting more, I promise!!! read more

I love that its a general store / small market. The specialty items are great and they almost always have breakfast ready when I stop in before fishing. If it's not out front you can walk back to the kitchen and get a helping of what ever is ready in the back. There's also a great meat market with beautiful steaks and home made sausage and cooler of ready to cook stuffed chops and such. Perfect for taking to the boat and grilling while waiting for the catfish to bite. I would give 5 starts except for one annoying problem. A couple of the cashiers have lost their southern manners and one in particular likes to use the "F" word. I've mentioned it twice to her and got attitude as she told me she's saying Frickin'. The problem is she doesn't pronounce it as frickin', she says f__kin'. Otherwise it's a great little market. read more

I've been doing business with Stripling's for the last 11 years. Whenever we go north or returning to Florida. Well this evening at 6:40pm on 06-06-2013 we stopped in to buy some Country Ham Hocks (can't find whole ones in Florida). I stood at the counter for 15 minutes. While the Guy that was there behind the counter stood there and chatted on the phone. Mind you it was not business talk... He was just chatting. He never acknowledge that I was standing there even though he looked directly at me. My wife walked up to me with two packs of ribs. I told her to put them back and we left. NEVER TO RETURN THERE AGAIN!!!!!!!! We pulled acrossed the highway to a place called Salt Lick's. They greeted us as soon as we walked in (they had about 30 customers to Stripling's possible 8). Waited on us immediately the Butcher offered to even cut our purchase up, wrapped it and placed ice in plastic bags for the trip back to Florida.
