She will gladly exploit people in vulnerable positions for her own gain. Her manipulation process breaks down as follows: First, she establishes that the only way to heal from whatever issue you come to her with is her holistic medicine. She clearly emphasizes that it is her and only her who can execute this process effectively, making you dependent on her care. Then, she charges ridiculous fees ($500 per HOUR) and sets unbelieveable terms (no cancellation of meetings) to trap you. Should you try to pull away or cancel treatment, she is not afraid to put fears of relapse or failure in your head to try to keep you on a short leash and thickening her pockets. Look elsewhere for effective alternative medicine with actual atruistic intentions.

I was happier than I had been in a long time. I loved the light bed and the energy work. The staff was nice. But the problems didn't become clear to me until years after I had completed treatment and returned home. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the theta chamber. I know it is well-intended. And it does its job, but it does it out of the context of the whole human experience. It encourages "normal" levels of neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin. This sounds like a good thing, but those neurotransmitters help you interpret your life experiences--what behaviors should be rewarded and which ones should be avoided. In my case, the theta chamber treatment threw me so far out of balance I wasn't aware of it until years later. Things may have changed in the last 5 years since I received treatment. However, I would recommend caution when choosing any method that would treat one part of you in isolation of others. And by "others," I mean the habits, relationships, environments, and life experiences that play a part in shaping you to be the person you have become. I'm in a good place and happy with my progress. I found other options that work well for me. And I hope the same for all those who are looking for healing and balance!

Patients exiting hospitals will flounder if not given support from an assigned therapist to help them make the transition to a new environment. Unprofessional and rude…read more My sister was being seen for anxiety and depression. In the 9 months she tried to receive counseling and medication, her appointments were cancelled three times! All because the doctor was unable to make the appointment. She was also unable to receive a prescription for medication unless she had at least two counseling appointments scheduled, even when they had kept canceling. They won't accept any recommendations from counselors outside of Ascendent for medication. For someone who needed help and took the tremendous step to get treatment, she was met with hostility and inflexibility. When she needed a refill on her single prescription, she had to call 4 times over a week before she was able to talk to a person and not an answering machine. The receptionist then said that they would not be able to give her a refill until she'd had another appointment. Then my sister was told that her provider had LEFT the practice with all her records, then returned! It was disorganized and chaotic and with no apology offered for the confusion, my sister is done being offered zero help and is ready to find another provider. Hopefully one who can actually keep appointments. She does clarify that Natasha (receptionist) and Celeste (counselor) were very kind and professional. My sister was glad to have been in their care. But with all the other issues, it's just not worth it.

This rating is not directed at him. It is directed at Serenity as an organization and its centralized administrative system. After three months of treatment, many hours of appointments, and thousands of dollars in costs, I did not experience meaningful improvement in my mental health. I understand that a mental-health clinic cannot fix an unstable job situation, but I had hoped treatment would help me cope and function more effectively. Instead, Serenity's administrative problems added even more stress. Communication about leave-related records was confusing and unnecessarily vague. I was told that protected health information had been "uploaded," but no one explained where it had been uploaded, what it contained, or whether it related to my current request. I later learned that an older request had been closed and that no new request had been received. Getting a clear answer required a 53-minute phone call. During that call, I was repeatedly redirected toward crisis resources even though I clearly explained that I was calling about an administrative records issue. The experience became so overwhelming that I broke down while trying to obtain basic information. Serenity is fortunate to employ an excellent psychiatrist, but one good clinician cannot compensate for an administrative system that is unclear, difficult to reach, and unable to provide straightforward answers when patients are already under significant stress.
