I've known Larisa for years and have been taking her classes ranging from yoga and mediation to trigger point, and even HIIT. Thanks to her sessions, I have survived some of the most hectic times. She has tailored sessions for our classes and is intuitive when it comes to what we need to focus on. I had the pleasure of working with Larisa at a Wounded Warrior camp this past January. If you aren't aware, the Wounded Warrior is a program that helps injured military men and women cope with their injuries by using different types of meditation, exercises, sports as well as yoga. I can't say I was ever a fan of yoga, and I'm pretty sure it's due to me never having had an instructor like Larisa. She has a way of putting you at ease and making feel as if you may have been doing yoga for years....she's that good! Within the first 3 minutes of the yoga class with Larisa I knew I was going to love it. She went slow and made us feel confident even when we couldn't perform all the moves properly. She continued to push us into believing we could accomplish anything during that class. Seriously, I would have never thought to have taken another class of yoga if it hadn't been for her and the passion she endures during her sessions. Till this day, my wife and I are looking for a class that resembles hers and it hasn't been easy. Why? Because she's that good and I highly doubt it can be reproduced anywhere. I'm a bone cancer survivor and was looking at yoga as a way to continue my recovery and to reduce the stress and discomfort due to the side effects of chemotherapy (neuropathy, low metabolism, hearing loss, etc.). Larisa helped me feel comfortable with my limited range of motion in my leg/knee and my poor flexibility. She offered alternative movements and poses that helped. Not only is she an excellent teacher, but she really takes the time to listen to her students. She always showed a genuine interest in my recovery and offered feedback and advice on how I can improve. I've taken many different classes with Larissa and have enjoyed every single one of them. Larissa makes sure that everyone in her class is comfortable with the poses/movements and offers alternative poses/movements to anyone who may need to modify a little. She ensures that all of her students are getting the correct form and hitting the poses correctly. She's a wonderful teacher, and is caring and supportive. Larisa is as knowledgeable as she is helpful. Having first known her as strictly a yoga instructor, she has branched out even further into total body wellness. She recently did a total body evaluation on me, in particular focusing on recurring soreness in my right knee. She examined my posture, inquired about my workouts, worked on my stretching, and then added in some yoga. We then moved on to Trigger Point (which is a challenge!) and then finished with a massage. I felt much better that day and have remained feeling better days after (and avoided the anti-inflammatory meds recommended by my Dr).
