Time for eyes check for all of us. The staff here are friendly, courteous, and very professional. They greeted us and went over what had to be done. The office and everything was clean, well maintained and up to date. Dr. Strong answered all of my concerns and also recommended some good eye exercises if that's what you called it . Mediocrity is what can be expected at the Strong Eye Care Center. I went to this location at the request of my medical physician who wanted me to get my eyes checked because of diabetes. I was given a prescription for contacts and one for glasses. Strong Eye Care asked me to send a copy of my current contact lenses prescription so they could see how they had been previously prescribed. I sent a picture with a box clearly labeled with an L to show which was which. I got the new prescription, filled it and got several boxes of contacts. I have been having trouble focusing so I checked the new prescription with my old ones and saw that they were backwards. I spoke with Dr Strong and his fix to his office's blunder was to write me a new prescription. What about all of the boxes of contacts I bought? What about all the headaches and the discomfort of not seeing properly? I seriously thought something had happened to my eye sight. Some moron at Strong Eye Center asked for my old prescription only to ignore it and give the wrong prescription. Simply writing me a new prescription does not correct their mistake. They need to own it and make it right! read more

I was advised by my optometrist that I may have glaucoma and should make an appointment with an ophthalmologist. Dr. Strong accepted my insurance and so I scheduled an appointment with him. I was able to obtain an appointment within a few weeks! After undergoing testing, Dr. Strong confirmed the glaucoma diagnosis. He prescribed drops but gave me a sample of the drug that lasted 30 days with the admonishment that I return in a month to see if the drops were working. Long story short, the initial drops didn't work, nor did the second, third or fourth. Every time he gave me a sample so I didn't have to incur the expense of a drug that didn't work. On the fifth try, the drops worked and lowered my pressure significantly. Dr. Strong was so patient with me and spent time answering all of my questions. An awesome Doctor!!!! read more

My primary physician referred me to Dr. Strong for an ongoing eye problem, and I was able to make an appointment online and see him the next business day. Dr. Strong was running a little behind due to an emergency, but his staff made sure I was aware of that. When Dr. Strong saw me, I was very impressed by the fact that he did all parts of the eye exam himself. Typically, I've had 80% of the exam done by an assistant and the doc was in and out in a matter of minutes. Not the case with Dr. Strong. I tend to be a little squeamish about my eyes, and have a hard time keeping my eyes open when there's an apparatus of some sort closing in on them. It takes me forever to put contacts in. Dr. Strong was patient, compassionate, and took the time to explain what he was doing, what he was looking for, and what he was finding throughout the exam, which I greatly appreciate. My sister highly recommended Strong Eye Care for my yearly checkup for new contacts, and I'm so glad she did! Dr Strong spent a lot of time with me and actually did my eye exam himself, which I really thought was impressive. Since then, my sister and I have referred our father over to Dr Strong so that he can manage his aging eyes/ cataracts. I joined Yelp today so I could post my experience at this business. I'll just state the facts and let you decide if this is a place you want to visit. I needed a new eye doctor so I called and made an appointment for 9:30am. The receptionist asked me to be there at 9:20 to complete some paperwork. On the day of the appointment, I left my house at 9am arrived at this business around 9:20 to complete a few forms. At 10:10am (40 minutes after my appointment time) one of the assistants called me back and ran some brief tests on me and dilated my eyes. This ended at approximately 10:25am and I was told the doctor would be in to see me shortly. At 11 AM, 1 1/2 hours after my appointment, there was still no sign of the doctor so I went out front to inform them that I would have to be leaving in 20 minutes because I had a meeting to attend at 11:30am. They told me the doctor was on the phone and they would tell him to come and see me. At 11:25am, I still had no update on when I would be seen by the doctor so I had to leave. With my eyes dilated, they handed me some sunglasses for my drive to work. This cost me 3 hours of time away from work and now I have to do find another doctor to do the entire thing over again. Follow Up: My response to business owner's comment below.... Appreciate the response and understand things happen. My recommendation is for you to poke your head into the office, explain what is happening and give the patient in your office the choice of waiting or rescheduling. That would take about 30 seconds. It's clear from another previous review below it's not an isolated issue. At the end of the day, you are in charge and it's your business so you have to remember a person with a good experience will tell 5 people, and a person with a bad experience will tell 100. read more

I recently visited Dr. Strong for a scary disorder with my left eye. I was able to get an appointment within 24 hours. I had seen Dr. Elizabeth Vaughan for 30 years, and learned her practice was acquired by Dr. Strong when she retired. I couldn't imagine being as pleased with an ophthamologist as I was with Dr. Vaughan, but I was pleasantly surprised. Dr. Strong was warm, compassionate, care-filled, competent, and took time to explain everything. Fortunately he found no disease and my symptoms have waned naturally (age-related). Wrote my Rx backwards, reversed the right and left eyes. No wonder I couldn't see out of the glasses I had done. But getting the glasses checked could only be done at lunch time!! NO other appointments for a followup. They got their money and were done with the patient. Finally had to pay another doctor to get rechecked and get glasses I could see out of. Waited 45 minutes only to be told it was going to be another 45 minutes. I ended up just leaving and never saw the doc. I'm sure Dr. Strong is great, but whoever is scheduling his appointments may be a little overzealous. I gave 3 stars because at least the person at the front was nice enough to tell me about the crazy long wait so I didn't suffer through another 45+ minutes. read more

I went 37 years without any eye issues, but this year it all changed. My primary care physician referred me to Dr. Strong. He has a beautiful office. Very friendly staff. Everything is extremely clean. They squeeze you in for emergencies. He is great at explaining the issues and resolutions to you. I am very impressed and highly recommend. read more

UPDATE: In summary, due to some initial unpleasant interactions by 'new employees' at the office as well as billing/communication mishaps by these certain staff members, I initially gave a low star rating - but have corrected this to 5 starts to reflect that Dr. Strong contacted me directly after this incident to help resolve the issue professionally and courteously. It's easy to write a high rating when everything goes right, but giving a high rating after issues arise and now resolved speaks to the fact that Dr. Strong does respond and care for his patients ... and appears that he will instruct these new employees to raise them to the higher bar/standard that he himself demonstrates and expects of his office. Will now definitely keep going to (and recommend) this office for future care because of Dr. Strong. read more

I was referred to Dr. Strong by my primary care physician. I have a serious ongoing medical condition that requires close care from my primary care doctor and a specialist and it requires that all of my medical providers are willing to work together as a team and share my condition and treatment with one another. Dr. Strong is a great new addition to my team. I received my exam appointment in a short period of time, the office is bright, the staff was friendly and professional and the wait time to see Dr. Strong was reasonable. I believe I received a thorough eye exam and an understandable explanation of the results from Dr. Strong. Next appointment same time next year! read more

I took my elderly mother to Strong Eye Care - and I have nothing but good things to say. He has a good bedside manner, and his staff is friendly. He is straight forward about costs and pros/cons to surgery. He did a great job on her lasik surgery, and she is much happier. read more

Avoid Dr. Strong at all costs! I was looking for a new doctor and decided on Dr. Strong because of his great ratings and proximity to my house. It was the worst doctor appointment of my life. There was no one else in the waiting room after i checked in yet i had to wait 30 minutes for a nurse to call on me. The nurse was friendly and everything seemed to be going great. After dilating my eyes she told me the doctor would be in to see me in a about 10 minutes. Well i waited in this little room for almost an hour! Finally the Dr. comes in and give me the same tests the nurse had already done. He spent about 5-10 minutes with me and said i was all ready to go. He seemed annoyed by any questions that i had and acted like a smart a$$ at times. I thought that he was very unprofessional. He also does not accept vision insurance and charged me $180 for a checkup that was a total nightmare!!! They also were out of sunglasses so i had to leave in the blinding sun without protection. Do not go to this doctor no matter what anyone else says. He only wants to rush you in and out and collect his fees. He does not take his time or seem to care about his patients and that was a major turn off for me. read more
