Karate, in general, has helped our son with his focus, respect and discipline (as well as his performance in school). I have had back problems for over 20 years. I checked out the Foundation Training books from the…read morelibrary and tried doing the exercises on my own, but something wasn't quite right. YouTube helped a little, but there is a lot going on in each exercise, and I wanted to make sure I was doing the exercises correctly. So, I went to the Foundation Training website and found Mona's (one of the Studio Melt owners) name - she is one of only two Foundation Training practitioners in the area. Two weeks after taking Foundation Training classes at Melt my back was better. Regular classes have helped it say healthy. There is nothing like it in town, and Mona explains every exercise in great detail, gives constant cues and will come around and correct your form in every class. You buy a class pass and attend as you please. There are other services and classes at Melt too (Yamuna ball rolling for example), but I only do the Foundation Training classes regularly. I tried Yamuna ball rolling once and also liked it. Melt and Mona have been a life saver.

He used to cry every morning going to daycare, begged not to go, and would try to barter for early pick up. Now, he is excited to go and gets upset if I pick him up early. They do a great job keeping him stimulated, moving, structure, being positive and keeping to a schedule so transition back to school will be smoother.
