READ THE FINE PRINT. I own a small pool building company and decided to give the pool studios a go. I set up the account had help enrolling then turned it over to my son who works for me. I had him play with it for a month making some mock pools. After he had a little knowledge using the program he signed up for the tutorials classes. The account was then flagged and shut down. Funny thing is they still charged my card, go figure. After realizing this I talked to customer service and they told me that I will have to pay for 2 accounts if I wish to keep it active even though I explained the situation. They are only getting a 1-star rating because 0- star is not an option!! WE WERE TREATED LIKE WE WERE BEING INTERROGATED FOR ASKING FOR HELP. Our experience with Structure Studios support, specifically with their manager, Tom was EXTREMELY disappointing to say the least. This account has been paying customers for over five years with no prior issues. I was recently hired as the company's first dedicated designer, which is why I was transferred access to the VIP account for daily use. (The owner does not use the software himself. he only accesses it to make payments.) When I began getting locked out of classes, I was completely confused and reached out to support genuinely asking for help. Since this was a new situation for the company, we assumed there might be a system limitation or something we were unknowingly doing wrong and expected guidance. Instead, there was no follow-up, and when I called again, I was transferred to Tom. Rather than helping us understand what was happening, the interaction felt like an interrogation. I was repeatedly questioned and blamed, being told things like, "I can't help you if you don't tell me why Francisco is logging in," even though I had clearly explained that we did not know why the system was showing that activity. That was the entire reason we were calling. AT NO POINT DID TOM ATTEMPT TO INVESTIGATE THE ISSUE OR OFFER A SOLUTION. WE WERE MADE TO FEEL AS THOUGH WE WERE DOING SOMETHING WRONG, RATHER THAN BEING TREATED AS CUSTOMERS SIMPLY SEEKING ASSISTANCE. Most concerning of all, the account was closed without any warning, explanation, or attempt to clarify the situation. For a customer with a five-year history, this was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. Support should be helpful and respectful--especially from management. This company has been nothing but a nightmare to deal with. In the past month alone, we were billed $600 for two product keys. When one key stopped working, we had no choice but to buy another. Later, they canceled one of the keys themselves (claiming we weren't allowed to have two), but of course refused to issue a refund. Then, to make matters worse, the remaining key was shut off more than a week before the billing cycle ended. The reason? We used a different name on the credit card to make a payment. Their "solution" was to demand we start paying for both keys monthly--despite already being locked out of the software we paid for. The manager, Tom, only added to the frustration. Instead of helping resolve the issue, he was dismissive, unprofessional, and downright rude. He made it clear that customer service isn't a priority here. Avoid this software like the plague. Difficult to use, you are forced into buying "credits" like its some Fortnite game. By the way those credits do expire plus if you cancel your membership there is no value in those credits (even though they push you to buy large packages of credits, they know exactly what they're doing) This company is just a cash grab, the monthly license fee is huge, you get scammed into buying credits, and there is next to no support. Thieves, Crooks, money hungry sharks.........you got the idea. I've been a customer since 2007. I'm the only one in my small company that uses or knows how to use their software. I use the pool portion of the software. One day, I made the mistake, since I was very busy, and asked my wife to take over a phone call that I started but got put on hold so I can tend to a customer that requested me personally. To make a long story short, she failed in collecting the info I needed and when I called back, I found out that I am forced to activate 2 accounts, instead of one like I had for over 15 years, because they labeled my wife as a second user and each user is required a license or an account and charges went from $99.00/mo to 2x$147.00/mo and I've been stuck paying that for two years now with hopeless change. That's my reward for being loyal all this time. The software works well but the people are all crooks and everytime I talk to them they make me feel like I am the problem. Worst company I've ever used in the construction industry. Tried forcing me to pay for 3 keys when I only have one pool designer.

As all the other low marks listed for this company I basically have the same complaint. Most companies that buy this software may have an owner that sets up and pays for the account. And they will have a designer that uses it. No matter how honest you are about it they will cancel you in a heartbeat stating that the software is only for one user and it HAS to be the person listed on the account. I run my company from home and my wife is the administrator and designer. They, without any notice, shut down our account and charged us for map data we did not purchase. Tom (the manager) is mentioned in a lot of these reviews for not being helpful and being rude, which is the same experience we had with him. They seem to be delusional in thinking that everyone that signs the dotted line to purchase the software is the only person sitting down to use it. We were honest with them that my wife is the only person designing but they don't care and said the only choice was to purchase another license. Even if I said I would now be the only person using it, they gave us no understanding or other options. And when I asked for a refund for the 8 months and overcharges they said I had to take it up with my bank. What horrible customer service. I would give negative stars if that were an option. I should have listened to all the reviews on here. I bought the program a couple days ago. I am the sole user of it for my company. I get an email telling me I'm not using the most up to date version so I should uninstall and reinstall. So I did. Now I am locked out and they're saying it looks like multiple people are using my key. I have one computer. It's the one I originally downloaded it on. It's the one I reinstalled on. I called the number and they're like sorry it will be 2 days while we look into things. Meanwhile now the projects I was working on won't be ready for my clients. We even came to a point where we had to pay for TWO subscriptions in order to be able to continue our design work, which was a scam in itself, but we continued to work with them. Buyer beware - this is a horrible company, Structure Studios is a SCAM and a bunch of theives. Search their name online and you will find case after case of them defrauding companies in the same way they did with us. I wish I had done my research before we ever started using them. Like so many others, they accused us of overlapping our licenses and using two instances of the software while paying for one. Then they put numerous charges through on our credit card exceeding $10,000 over a 6 month period. I disputed with Capital One and they would not refund our money because Structure Studios is a preferred vendor. We have paid thousands of dollars, they disabled our log ins so we have no access to the system or existing plans and they refuse to let me talk to anyone in their organization except the CSR that answers the phone. Horrible. Has to be one of the worst run business I have dealt with. Zero regard for the customer base or just doesn't care. Been with them for 10 years. We grew the business and had multiple designers in the same office. We had 3 keys paying $600 a month - $7200 a year. The company went in a different direction and we shrunk out design team down needing only one key. I was able to transfer one of my keys to my designer which now freelances for me. So we were left with 2 keys which we really only needed one. I was stuck paying for the 2nd for 2 years without it getting used. $4800 for 2 years we haven't even logged into the 2nd key. I figured after a few years of the key not being used they would see that and let me just use 1 key. I spoke to someone on the phone and there and would not allow me to use my account unless 2 keys were paid. It's a shame, the program has potential but there customer service and CEO need a major overhaul. How can everyone complain about the same thing and think this is good business. How does not one person In the company look at all The reviews and complaints and say let's keep screwing our customers. Our business used Structure Studios for pool and landscape design. We had our design employee leave our business and the card on file was expiring. We called and they said just wait until the renewal comes up and then you can update the user and the credit card on file. So when it happened we update the card and they charged us $2300. We immediately followed up to update the user and they told us that we can not change the user and we needed to pay for the employee that doesn't work for us anymore and the new user before we can use the program. At this point we have paid $2300 and have still have no any access for the program. All we wanted to do is take off the old employee and keep the owner on the program for his use only. They threatened to block us, were incredibly rude, told us there were absolutely no refunds, and basically stole $2300 and we have no access. All for following their instructions!!! What kind of company blocks a customer!!! Find a different company that has morals and ethics!!! Absolutely terrible company. They are rated "F" on Better Business Bureau for a reason. read more

Been using this product for 4 years at a cost of 1497.00 per year. Charged it on wife credit card each year. They just cut my account off . They say the account is in wife's name and not mine. I have been the only one who has ever used the system since day one. They can tell the only computer that has ever used the system is mine. My wife cant even get into my computer. Horrible customer service and mafia style charges. My wife needed to log on to her computer because mine was being repaired. We downloaded the program and tries to make changes and submit to our client, but could not log on. We call customer service and they said 1 user allowed. Does not matter my wife was not going to use it, we just used her computer so we can make a change, and then they made us buy a second license indefinitely. Paying double for the program and I am the sole person working. My wife works full time and I still have to pay for 2 license. I recommend Sketch-up with the 3D extension. You ca also use Lumion and get way better renderings. Studio can shove it !! read more

Their customer service said no and noted her as an additional user after she called. IM SORRY WHAT COMPANY ATTACHES THE ONE LICENSE TO AN INDIVIDUAL RATHER THAN THE BUSINESS. Her boss called and they then said we need a third key (license)- original one for emp not working here, new one and now one for him/office manager. FOR ONE EMPLOYEE TO USE THE PROGRAM it will cost us $6,000 to have our designs and data released. There is no chance that we want to work with them any more, but they held our data hostage. DO NOT PURCHASE- terrible customer service. we were just setting up the account and my assistant made a mistake. we immediately tried to rectify and figure out how to get it set up properly, but they said NO it violated terms with me trying to access the account and we are BANNED from the program for life unless i purchase two licenses. i offered to buy a second license and then cancel the other one after the month since it was our mistake. they said it's not allowed because we broke rules by both of us already looking at the system. there was no resolution to this issue at all and we didn't even get started! so less than 3 days into a paid subscription we shut out With no refund. they refused to help find a solution. In general, the software is user-friendly and able to be learned by watching videos that they supply. The issue with the company is its customer service and bully mentality. I am a pool contractor and signed up for the service for my company to use. I had a designer in-house to learn and use the software. The company flagged us for having multiple users despite having only one computer and only one person using it. Their response was our software notices the way someone uses the software and detects it. Which is completely false as only one person was using it and trying to learn how to use the software. So how can they tell if someone else is using it... Makes no sense. No one else was using it. I think they cancelled our service because she was calling customer service and asking for help too much and they didn't want to be bothered. We were on an old computer and were not able to use the full software. One tech support said we should upgrade to get the full experience. We went out and bought a $2500 computer with the new graphics card as recommended. When we tried to activate the computer they canceled our subscription no questions asked and would not give a refund. So after buying a new computer and paying for the service for months at $150 they would give no refund. All the time spent learning their software was completely wasted. Had I read the reviews and saw this actually is a common thing with them. I would not have even tried. Dont waste your time with a company that prefers to not give you support especially when you are paying $150 a month for their service. Use other software like sketch, canvas and lumion. read more

SCAM ALERT!!!!! This company is TERRIBLE!!! I am a high-end residential landscape architect with over 25 years experience in 3 countries. I used their software for over 5 years and recently began working with another company. During the download process and transferring the software to my company laptop, they locked the software. I called them and they said I had two users now and would have to pay for 2 licenses OR they may just lock me out. I explained that I had merely moved the software to another laptop and nobody in the entire office was capable of running the software. After a review by 'Tom', he informed me that 'we were just not the right fit for the company' and that we would not be able to use the software. 3 days later, he called me back to reiterate this (who does that?!?!). After some emails and a call to them for a refund, they informed me that I would NOT be getting a refund. So to sum up this terrible company; 1) they locked me out of the software, 2) refused to allow me to access my past files, and 3) get to keep the license fee/money. This company is a SCAM!!!!! I was working for a company as a designer, the company had 2 licenses, we cancel one because only one designer was using. The designer left the company we contact them to let them know that we had to transfer the active license back to me, they sent me an email explaining the steps and a month after they cancel telling us that were multiple users sharing the same license. BLESSING in DISGUISE!! I had a terrible experience with this company and it seems that all of the bad reviews for this company are for the exact same reason. My situation was as follows. I was using an old computer on the trial version. Decided to become a subscriber so I went out and purchased a new $2,500.00 dollar laptop in order to get all of the functions out of the software. I signed up for one of the training classes then received an email that my account was being closed because there were multiple users using my account. They claimed they have software that can detect different user behavior when designing. Hmmmmm, how is that possible as I ONLY had the software for 22 HOURS! In my opinion, they cancelled my software because I switched from and old computer to a new computer or they heard my wife in the background of my home while I was in training class. Either way, it was a blessing for me and my company as I will now save THOUSANDS of dollars by using Real-time Landscaping Architect 2020. I can design very very nice looking pools and has the video feature that allows you to make videos to upload on YouTube or email to the customers. I've sold 4 jobs with the new software and the best thing of all is that I own the software, no subscription and it only cost me $400.00 In the future, if I ever hire people to design for me, I don't have to purchase additional software or additional keys with Architect 2020 as they don't have restrictions on this which will continue to save me even more money. read more

Don't use them at all! They are a horrible company to work with. I used them for 2 years now and haven't had any issues till I upgraded to a new computer. I call customer service and spoke with James, he sent me a email on how to transfer the program licensing. On the phone I told him I was giving my old computer to my wife so she could use it and that she often used the computer for our business. They then canceled my account saying they had some magic software that can tell she was using the program which was a lie! She didn't even understand how to use the program and didn't know the login info. They are now demanding I pay 400$ a month for 2 keys to unlock my account. The worse company ever. They stole our money and forced us to purchase extra keys in order to use 1. They didn't support our needs when we had issues with program. My experience with Structure studios could not have been worse. Tech support was combative and emotional. Upper management could not be less helpful. Tom, which was supposedly the top man in charge, was an absolute disaster to work with. The software itself is functional some days but super glitchy and I think the tech support is only open on nights and sundays because you need an act of Congress to get a real person to respond. The largest problem with all of their flaws is the billing and customer service. I truly wished I had read the BBB complaints and the yelp reports showing how they truly treat their clients. I was told by Tom, the upper level supervisor, it was easier to concentrate the company's efforts on new clients rather than deal with the time they need to address the technical issues I bring up so they literally banned my entire company and all accounts affiliated with it. You would think this reprehensible behavior would be illegal but it is not. They may refuse service at their discretion and for no cause at all. They are able to ban you even after paying in full without any recourse or consequences. So if you learn the system and invest the time and money into the education to be proficient they may literally turn the software off or extort you for more money because they Can. I have found a much better platform and will never use these immoral criminals again. read more
