Today was my first ever visit to this office and it will be my last…read more At a time when local Covid cases are at an ALL-TIME high, Dr. McCreary's staff aren't all wearing masks. He told me, "It's been two years of pandemic and they're all vaccinated." He said he's that like everybody is sick of the pandemic and we just need to move on! What?!? Yes, (nearly) two years of time we could have all been masking and maybe shortening this horrific experience. "I know three people who have had breakthrough cases, " I said. "If you don't care enough about my health to make everyone here wear a mask, then we don't have anything to do here." He said, "Then we have nothing to do here." And I left. If he so much as mentions my visit to my insurance company, I'll have him charged with fraud. I am livid!!!!

They say that you…read moreabsolutely have to get a full set of x rays everytime you get your teeth cleaned, because " its the LAW in Florida !" Well, I actually am very familiar with the law so I mentioned the exact law they were referring to which absolutely does NOT say you have to get x rays before every teeth cleaning! So.... yea if this place tries to force x rays on you and they say it's the law know that they are lying to make money off you. Here is my correspondence with them so you can read it yourself. Do not trust this office!!! Hi Angel, Thanks for your inquiry. We hope to hear from you soon but here is a quick summary of our office policies: Our office follows requirements specified by Florida law. At this time all cleanings are a prescribed event and in order to make that prescription, the doctor is required to do a comprehensive exam. Standard of care dictates that a full mouth series of x-rays or a panoramic and bitewings be performed on all adults at the time of examination. Extra and unnecessary x-rays are never taken, but our office will always meet legal standards of care. Fluoride is not required by any governing body, so patients are welcome to decline any fluoride treatment. Thank you! McCreary Dentistry 4502 Spanish Trail Road Pensacola, FL 32504 (850) 476-6329 mccrearydentistry.com Hi, This is the Florida Law actually;) Title XXXII REGULATION OF PROFESSIONS AND OCCUPATIONS Chapter 466 DENTISTRY, DENTAL HYGIENE, AND DENTAL LABORATORIES 466.024 (2) 1. A dentist licensed under this chapter or a physician licensed under chapter 458 or chapter 459 must give medical clearance before a dental hygienist removes calculus deposits, accretions, and stains from exposed surfaces of the teeth or from tooth surfaces within the gingival sulcus. Nothing about x rays is mentioned that I can see only that it is up to the dentist to give clearance. Are you saying this dentist will not give clearance for a teeth cleaning unless he charges my insurance for brand new x rays at his office? Thanks, Linn Renee, We appreciate your email. You certainly are aware that there is a law, then the regulations the regulatory bodies create based off that law, and then the case law and board disciplinary decisions based off of these regulations. 18 years of experience as a dentist licensed in the state of Florida has taught me that no dental cleaning is to be done without a proper comprehensive exam. Perhaps you can find an office that feels differently, as this is a position on which I absolutely will not bend. Thanks for your time. Laura doesn't warrant her work and there seems to be a clear trend in our case for that, because the treatment never lasted more than 10 days!! Imagine your child being strapped down crying for 45 minutes every 2-3 weeks for two months because someone never gave another treatment option for your child. Before we left they wanted to schedule ANOTHER set of fillings and to me I can only assume they saw our child as paycheck and not a human being that deserved transparency and patient care. Truly disturbing. At no point was I given a clear explanation or informed consent that these fillings might not be expected to last or that a different treatment option could have been more appropriate. If a provider believes a restoration is unlikely to succeed, parents deserve to know that before their child is subjected to repeated procedures. Being charged while watching the exact same fillings fail over and over left me questioning whether there was a financial incentive to recommend a more durable solution which is even more INSANE because it involves children. What ultimately convinced me never to return was the lack of accountability. After everything my child went through, I expected concern, an explanation, or even an acknowledgment that something had gone wrong. Instead, I was met with silence. After watching my child undergo the same failed treatment four times in two months, feeling dismissed when I voiced concerns, and receiving no meaningful response I feel Laura deserves negative stars. I would highly recommend Pensacola Kids Dentistry who take a more conservative approach that relies heavily on informed consent and consideration for well being of the patient.
