Sites are a good size and people were friendly. They even have a bathroom with showers. Since it was in the 90s during our trip this was a great option. The fan area is right outside the main gate and easy to navigate. They had lots of autograph sessions before the races that weekend. Best part was having pit passes to go behind the scenes during the race. It was a unique experience that created lots of memories.

Most of the games are well-maintained and fun to play, which is a heck of an accomplishment when most of the games are as old as I am. We came back a few minutes later and sat back in the seats with our drinks and the new bartender told us that my kiddo couldn't sit there since it was 21 and older only. Okay, that's annoying, but we grabbed our sodas and moved to the table beside the bar, BUT THEN a dad and his kid come up and sit at the bar... and she serves them without chasing them off... So... apparently it's only SOME 12 year olds can't sit at the bar with their parents? Or maybe only the ones whose parents are drinking cocktails and not ones who are drinking diet sodas and eating fries? Also, the bar is HUGE and it is not at all crowded on a random weekend afternoon. And even though there are tables and cup holders near every gaming station, my kiddo has ASD and he is a wanderer, so we left our food and drinks at our table, and they change bartenders about every two hours, so our table got bussed by the new bartender and we had our almost entirely full basket of funnel cake fries and drinks thrown away. The sodas got remade, which was nice, but also... that's like $8 out of $11 worth of funnel cake fries that got tossed. Not like we can walk around with those at the small gaming tables. So I wish there was a little "I'm still gaming, please don't throw away my food." Coaster or something you could put on the table so they know not to waste your food. I had heard it was one of the better ones and they certainly delivered. A bit under $25 gets you a bit over an hour's scare-ntertainment, which is a lot per hour but it's a jam-packed hour so it works. When you arrive, there are employees directly traffic to parking, which are unmarked grass spaces. Front workers were nice and a handful of scarers were walking around to psyche folks up for the experience. You end up waiting in a few lines here and there: ticket purchase, front gate, and then a line for each of the four experiences, all tied together with a sort of loose cult/corporate storyline. Each one is a lot of fun and there are plenty of clever layouts and props to keep you guessing about where the next scare will come from. One of the toughest things to do at these places is pace lines, since if folks get squished together the scarers can't reset effectively. Unfortunately we happened to be behind the slowest group known to man and in front of a group of scared teens who could not wait to be done with the whole thing. This took away from the experience a bit but I chock it up to bad luck rather than Red Vein. Ultimately this turned out to be an awesome place to commemorate spooky season and I would absolutely do it again next year! Overall: 4.5 stars ---- Pros: - Great staff, both the front workers and the scare crew. - Fun experience with a lot of variety and creativity. - Great logical flow to the setup to try to pace things better. - Lots of parking. Cons: - Sometimes bad luck in group placement will hinder your experience, and while that happened to us, hopefully it won't to you. - Price isn't terrible but it is a lot for a brief experience. - Making a more permanent parking setup (or at least spraying some lines in the grass) would go a long way to making entrance and exit better.

Firehouse is a decent small theater so I am not going to review it against the standards set by the large houses. Come to Firehouse for above average acting and for decent production values. Come to Firehouse for exposure to plays you won't see at large houses -- ranging from, say, Rocky Horror to Buried Child. Come to Firehouse for the experience of seeing a show in a raw form that does not depend on major fly-in gimmicks or other high tech special effects. Do not come if the above doesn't suit you, or if not quite comfortable seating is an issue. Or if you need to park close. Firehouse and its ilk fill a valuable niche. It should be supported and patronized.

They had a few shuttles in rotation, and they were nice, luxury buses. The area surrounding the festival in Byrd Park looked pretty gnarly with traffic, so I definitely do not recommend driving. There were over 350 vendors at the 2026 event. A large directory and map greeted us upon arrival, which was a nice touch and helped guide us around the event efficiently. The weather was perfect -- early spring mild temps with plenty of sunshine. I found loads of gorgeous pottery for gifts at reasonable rates. We didn't eat on site, but there were plenty of food vendors. We attended on the second day and the porta pots weren't the best. The event was busy but not claustrophobic. The layout was quite nice for strolling, and the Carillon added extra scenery to the day. I will absolutely be back in future years!

There are food and drink vendors. I recommend carrying a bottle of water, you will be doing a lot of walking and lemonade was $8.00 this year. The food prices were okay. I got a well smoked BBQ sandwich with coleslaw for $8.00. The food was tasty. The art is fun and you will see all kinds of things like jewelry, artistic notecards, lotions, soaps, whirligigs, and what nots galore. It is a fun event for all ages. Dogs are welcome too.
