It's fun to stay at the YMCA, especially in DTLA Open 5:30 am - 9:00 pm Monday through Friday and as early as 8 to 9 am Saturday and Sunday til the afternoon. The Ketchum location, named after the late Stuart M Ketchum, a huge philanthropist, civic leader and real estate mogul. Is very modern and stylish on the outside and the in. If you want to volunteer for various programs you can do so via their online portal. Opportunities from Sports Assistant to Food Distribution and more. YMCA Downtown LA partners up with great groups such as the LA Food Bank, LA Civil Rights, Students Run LA, American Red Cross and numerous others. Passing through on a Saturday morning, the fitness area was filled. And they offer some great wellness programs including group exercise, various indoor sports and even online programs. Check out their youth and adult programs ranging from hobbies and sports to summer camps and workshops. Additionally the DTLA Y has monthly, annual and day pass memberships. And their layout as well as the outdoor landscape with beautiful statues, colors, designs, etc... that make all feel welcome. read more

My name is Mike, and I am writing this review because people deserve an honest picture of what the Downtown Los Angeles Ketchum YMCA is actually like before spending their money. My wife and I have attended this gym, and I am giving it two stars. Not because the entire facility is useless, but because the lack of maintenance, overcrowding, inconsistent enforcement of rules, and certain staff interactions have made the experience far below what a YMCA membership should provide. For beginners and casual lifters, the gym equipment is decent enough. However, if you are serious about bodybuilding, powerlifting, or progressing beyond basic training, this location will likely disappoint you. The equipment has not been meaningfully updated in years, several machines are frequently broken, and repairs can take far too long. The upstairs weight rooms are especially frustrating in the evening. Instead of working out, many people socialize around machines, hug equipment, and make it difficult for others to train. Staff often appear to do very little about it. If you want a focused workout, go between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM. The mornings can also be good because the gym is less crowded. After 3:00 PM, especially in the evening, getting a proper workout becomes unnecessarily difficult. The men's locker room is another serious issue. It frequently smells strongly of body odor and, at times, cannabis. The steam room often smells bad, and when it is dry, the tiles and surrounding surfaces look visibly dirty and poorly maintained. From my construction experience, the condition of those tiles raises legitimate safety concerns. I have also heard from friends who believe they developed fungus-related issues after using the steam room. Whether management agrees or not, the hygiene concerns are obvious and should be investigated. The sauna is usually cleaner, mainly because sweat dries faster there, but it can still smell unpleasant when people enter without rinsing off first. My wife has told me that similar cleanliness and hygiene concerns exist in the women's locker room as well. The pool is one of the better amenities, but only during certain hours. Morning swimming is the best time because it is quieter and reservations are generally respected. The afternoon closure is inconvenient and confusing. In the evening, the reservation system becomes unreliable. I have personally reserved a lane, shown proof of my reservation, and still been told to leave or move. I was told that lifeguards have the final say, but if that is the case, then management needs to explain why members are expected to make reservations at all. One evening, a male staff member at the pool told me that I had not reserved my lane even after I showed proof that I had. He then allowed other people to use the space. From my perspective, this felt unfair and inconsistent. I have also had similar concerns with another staff member at the pool. The rules should apply equally to every member, not differently depending on who staff members recognize or prefer. The staff is the main reason this location receives two stars from me. The morning staff members have generally been friendly, welcoming, and professional. The evening experience is much less consistent. Jennifer, who works at this location, had an interaction with my wife that we found disrespectful after a misunderstanding involving a question. In my experience, she was impatient and unhelpful rather than trying to resolve the situation professionally. I also observed an incident involving a staff member named EJ and a teenage member leaving the locker room. I witnessed what appeared to be an uncomfortable interaction, and afterward the teenager told me he did not plan to return in the evening because of previous conflicts. I cannot speak for every detail of his experience, but what I observed did not reflect the professionalism I expect from someone representing the YMCA. There is also another petite female staff member who wears glasses whose name I do not know. In my observations, she has been rude and has inserted herself into conversations that did not involve her. Management should make staff identification clearer so members know who they are speaking with when issues arise. The YMCA is supposed to represent community, health, respect, and inclusion. At this location, those values are not consistently reflected in the evening staff experience. Members should be able to ask questions, use facilities they reserved, and work out without feeling dismissed, singled out, or treated differently. For approximately $55 per month, the membership sounds appealing because it includes a gym, pool, sauna, steam room, and other amenities. On paper, it can resemble a more expensive gym membership. In reality, the poor maintenance, broken equipment, locker-room hygiene concerns, inconsistent pool reservations, early closing hours, and staff issues make it difficult for me to recommend this location. read more

You get what you pay for here. Three stars because it has extensive facilities and it is cheap. Men's locker rooms and showers are gross, steam room smells, and generally there are people just doing weird stuff all throughout this place. If you are looking for a place to workout during your lunch hour on the cheap and don't really care about the foregoing, it is worth it. read more

Predatory Gym and Rude Workers Here - STAY AWAY I was told I had an outstanding balance due so they cancelled my membership. But when I checked my YMCA account it showed I owed $0.00 and my membership was still active and I showed it to them right there. But they didn't care because that's not "what their system says" even though I'm using their app and their account service. They still insisted I owe money and I told them that the member's accounts need to reflect what they see on their end. Otherwise, I'm basically just taking their word for it that I still owe money. So I checked on the month they said I owe and it said PAID. They still didn't let me enter. They just wanted to shake me down for $55.00 right then and there, just like gyms do all the time with double charging and extra fees. Totally disappointing because the YMCA should help the community, not try to squeeze more out of them. And they said they'd email me the number to the executive director so I can take my issue up with them...I still have not received an email. The older gentlemen and the young man working the front desk today on Monday June 30th 2025 at 8pm were both super rude - especially the young man who wanted to kick me out of the lobby for simply telling him that I don't make a lot of money and it's important to me that this issue is straightened out so I'm not double paying. He didn't care at all and said "if we made a mistake and double charge you then we will just refund you the money." Meanwhile, I'll be out of the money until then because of a mistake they made. Wow!!!! So many complaints! I myself have one. It was parking: down the parking structure, they needed to add more 'Exit,' signs cuz it took me 10min to get out from circling around just to exit. I was told about $2 parking, but when I got to the ticket kiosk, it forced me to pay $20. You lost me there. I was glad I was able to tour the site free and everything, but where did everyone else get the $2 parking?! I prolly shoulda asked for validation. Nevermind here. I was here for my Scavenger Hunt event. I won't be back here though. It's a nice place to work out, I'm sure, but I can just walk around all of DTLA's 'The Music Center,' a few times and get my free work out. I came for what I needed, but this place ain't for me. I love to use their cardio machines that look out onto the skyscrapers of Bunker Hill. Most usually work and the treadmills have games/TV options (so bring your headphones). The natural light from large glass panes makes this gym feel great in addition to its location on a sparsely used sidestreet. I find the 2 weight rooms and multiple other work out spots to be more than adequate with equipment. I recently got into heavy rope work (from experience at a bootcamp) and was pleased to find this option here. There are little nooks where you can do individual exercises if you don't want to go into the mirror-walled group class area. If you like T-RX pulleys, well there's a whole room devoted to T-RX bands/straps on the ground floor. I also use the pool. Granted I like swimming outdoors and a deeper pool, but this shallow lap pool will work fine over the winter. People are not serious swimmers here but they appreciate the concept of laps. Plus afterwards you can sit in their hot dry sauna! I am grateful for the expansive changing rooms with private locker rentals and towel and laundry service. I guess there are some indigent people who may use the changing rooms for the occasional decampment however we are all human beings, American capitalism is a cruel frankenstein, and a little understanding can go a long way. I found the shower areas to be fairly hygienic. Never had problems with toilets. I appreciate the constantly vigilant staff and the towel service. Hair dryers for the ladies! I am always happy when I come in, exercise and leave, and so far I haven't faced any theft. So sad to see what's happened to the YMCA. This place is in dire need of a remodel. Such an incredible location and building yet prices are so low that I had to see why. After taking a tour I quickly realized that it wasn't underpriced, it was actually over priced. I wouldn't go for even $1. It's the dirtiest gym in downtown with the potential of being these one at the same time. Sad sad sad. I walked in the locker room and there was a guy on the phone as loud as he could possible be on FaceTime. Naked people walking around and this guy has his camera out. The bald guy with glasses at the front desk needs to calm down. I always feel like I am doing something wrong with the way he talks to me. He is always yelling and mad about something. Even in the past years, when I would ask a question he would respond in an aggressive way. He needs to learn to lower his tone and be more polite. Other than that, the rest of the staff team is fine. It's just him that always ruin the whole experience. Yesterday I came here and he told me my mask wasn't good enough. I was confused because I was never told that in any other facility since I was using a scarf mask for hikers. But I didn't make a deal out of it, I had brought an extra mask so I didn't mind changing it and I do admit that I didn't tie the mask right so it was slipping at the time. I just didn't understand why he had to tell me in that way. He could have politely asked me to grab a better mask, I was not going to fight him about it. I already have a bad experience with him and he always humiliated me in the past. I also work with customer service and usually all it takes is for me to ask politely if a customer is doing something wrong. I pay for my Y membership so I expect the staffs to treat me right. Well, I use to come to this YMCA much often years ago. Recently I came to work out with a coworker and to my surprise not much has changed. They did a facelift to the pool a few years ago and it seems like thats all they have changed. The weights here are old, very updated. The machines even have a lot of chipped paint and even though they do the job i think a facility like this should definitely have much better equipment. They also have limited electronic machines such as ellipticals, stair masters, etc. For cardio i prefer using the running track they have above the basketball courts. Again, i have come here at their less peak hours so i have managed. The lockers and showers here are also old and outdated. This facility does however have towel service which is a big plus and a basketball court. I would recommend this place for a short workout and for those that need to work out locally. However there are some other gyms nearby that may be a better fit depending on area in downtown that you work. read more

There is a group of ppl in this particular YMCA that give this organization a bad rep. ############# UPDATE 2/24 They really need to get their act together on weekends and managing their staff. I arrive at 8:00 only to be told at 8:20 when I am dressed in swimsuit that the pool will only MAYBE open at 8:45. The manager on site response was "are you gonna pay the staff to come early to check the water". Yes, I pay your staff. That's called membership which you get monthly. ############ We are members (whole family) for over 2 years. It's been getting worse and worse here but since I pretty much only use the pool, there aren't many options around here. There is always hair in the pool, always. I reported that a few times and heard nothing but "we clean it every day"... although if you ask about it, it's not really every day, it's m-f in the afternoons... so if you come swimming on Monday morning, expect to eat hair from the whole weekend. This place has become less and less customer oriented. They don't listen to their patrons. They don't really offer anything special and the prices are not competitive. You might think that if you are one of the professionals in the area you might have your needs met here. Wrong!! They do not listen to feedback and disregard the principles of the Ymca. It'll be interesting to see how this place changes over the next 5 years. In the last 5, it has become a corporate identity-less experience. It has gone from a place where I met persons from all walks of life to a place where patrons grumble about the most recent flavorless change. Like no towels unless you want an unreasonable charge for the service. Update: yesterday all, and I mean all, of the men's restrooms were filthy. Then today, there is a man unpacking his belongings onto the floor, almost an encampment. This is not the first time I have seen such a sight. I worry for the sanitation of the place. One of the things I love about the Y is it's outreach and the charity. But this is too much, for me. I still cherish meeting from all walks of life, but this is a problem and management should be dealing with it. What's up with the YMCA and NO WIPES. First is they had not receive their supplies. After months, now they don't want people using wipes because it affects the leather on the machines. So, people are sweating up a storm and as paying members we have to be concerned about the wipes affects on the equipment and not be concern about the MONKEY POX, corona virus because it might hurt the leather on the equipment? This review is strictly for the aquatics area. I've been looking for a place to swim for so long and the YMCA in DTLA is my new spot. The pool was recently remolded and is always super clean. The lifeguard is on duty when I go (usually Tuesdays/Thursdays) is so nice and does an awesome job of managing the lanes - there is a lane for fast, medium and slow swimmers and she not only does a great job with crowd control but she remembers almost everyone and their abilities. I love that she manages the pool so well because I am guaranteed a good workout every time I go unlike other pools like just let people swim willy nilly. If you are looking for an affordable place to swim, YMCA in DTLA is the best bang for your buck. Also, they have free towels so you don't have to bring your wet, chlorine towel home with you after your swim. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this gym. I actually live in Venice, but work downtown, and this Y is better than any place you can find on the west side. It has the same equipment (including a large pool and a basketball court), amenities (towel service, laundry service, etc.; the only exception is that the men's showers are communal, which I think is now unusual in new gyms), and classes, but it has something few other gyms have: a sense of community. I give the staff total credit for this. The "coach" who got me set up on their Fitlinxx tracking system always says hi and knows me by name, as do a number of the people who work at the front desk. I often see members chatting with each other about politics and sports, and I imagine that people who go to the classes together are particularly friendly. One noticeable feature of the gym is that its membership is older than most gyms, and there are often kids there with their parents. I think this cuts down on a lot of the awkwardness and discomfort that often comes with an LA gym. People aren't there to see or be seen, or to push themselves more than they should -- they're just there to have a good time, and do good by their bodies and minds. read more

Good Lord, some of these reviews are so salty and entitled! Here's the deal: this place is dated, it looks like it was built in the 80's. The machines are acceptable, but not the latest and greatest. The showers, sauna, steam room...and basically everything is just that: functional and perfectly acceptable, but not the latest and greatest. But it does have a big pool, plenty of classes, and everything that you could need to stay in shape. And the staff is really nice. And how much do you pay? $47/month. An extra $10 if you want towel service. I think that's a pretty good deal, some people might disagree depending on their budget. But keep in mind that a membership at theY is good at any of their locations. For some of the pickier reviewers, might I suggest Equinox? You'll get all the bells and whistles, and lots of pretty people (but no pool)...but you'll pay an initiation fee and $200+/month for it. Otherwise, stop complaining. read more

This is a HUGE facility with good equipment, tennis and raquetball courts, basketball courts, private jacuzzi and sauna areas, and towel service. The pool area looked completely abandoned, and is under renovation, which was very disappointing, and I just get that hunch that it's going to be a REALLY long process, months perhaps. Location is interesting; it's up on a rooftop. GREAT views from the cardio machines though, like something out of a movie. Really handsome guys working at the front desk. Shouldn't matter, but does. I'm THAT guy. Owning it. They're really nice too, and competent. Rare to find all three traits in one staff. The crowd was... interesting. Lots of middle-aged men with flabby arms in sleeveless t-shirts. Quite a few obese twentysomethings who spoke really loudly. Elderly men who seemed to keep to themselves. Ethnically diverse, which I like, but the thing that most of the patrons I saw had in common was just that they don't seem like "gym people" - at least the night I was there, people weren't in great shape, it's not THAT type of gym. A mixed blessing. Self-confidence heightened, motivation lowered. The gyms with the really pretty people sometimes kick me in the arse to workout harder. But encourage eating disordered behavior when you're the only person without a washboard stomach. This isn't one of those. Here's where the train goes off the tracks: I think of YMCAs, philosophically, as community-based and therefore inexpensive. That's simply not the case here. $150 startup fees and about $60 a month in membership dues. Of the gyms I've checked out in the area, even the mid-upscale, luxury-oriented, super-modern ones are much cheaper. Gold's Gym, which is cleaner and newer, is a little cheaper. 24 Hour, which is admittedly a step down, is about a third the price. Hard to justify the cost, as nice as it is. read more

As a weight room this is not optimal. Heavy emphasis on the "show" muscles and lack of equipment like squat racks. But it's an older set up so that comes with the territory. Not the most affordable gym in DTLA either but they offer a pool, rec classes, and a sense of community. Nice people working here and this is a decent option if you work in the high rises nearby and your work doesn't offer a gym membership. This is a financial crisis and they are charing me (a low income person) FULL RATE WHILE CLOSED.... i am contacting the better business bureau. A message for the CROOKS @ YMCA.... My home away from home. It's across the street from my office, so lunch hours are spent here either lifting my wimpy amounts on the machines or running on the treadmills to burn off the morning muffin. The staff here truly deserves the 5 star ratings. Someone is always ready to greet you at the main desk (not checking email or taking a personal call) and they always look to be extremely cheerful and glad to be there. And why not? The Y is surrounded by the glittering downtown skyscrapers and everyone I see coming in is always super nice! The locker rooms are very large and you can pick up fresh-washed towels on your way in. Shower areas are kept clean, too. I've never tried the sauna, pool, or steam room but I am told they're also kept in tip-top shape and are a nice way to pamper yourself after a workout. Upstairs is where the bulk of the machines are. There's a wall of cardio equipment that overlooks Bank of America Plaza and Walt Disney Concert Hall, a free weight area, a circuit room, a larger room with weight machines, squash and handball courts, a spinning room, and basketball courts! Then there's a third floor with a running track and the overflow of cardio equipment. Other perks of the Y include a HUGE list of classes that are offered during the day (some have additional fees, but most are included with membership), the FitLinxx system that tracks your cardio and weightlifting stats, the "coach approach" to set you up on a workout regimen with super helpful trainers, and events like the Stair Climb to the Top and free consultations with nutritionists and physical therapists. If that's not enough, there's also a small shop with workout clothing, equipment, and snacks plus a shoe shine service and adjacent is California Crisp if you want a post-workout salad or sandwich. It's no wonder I come by twice a day during the week. They take care of me and the only attitude is one of everyone helping each other out. Special note: Will's core sculpt and abs class on Tuesday and Thursday evenings is intense! Equipment: Brand spanking new!! Or so that's what it seems. Their cardio equipment have medium sized screens in front of them so members can watch TV or play mini games on them. Pretty neat. Their free weights and everything else are well polished and neat. Size of the gym: Way to small for my taste. It's also very stuffy in there too. I've been a member for 9 years. However, over the last few years - as so many other reviewers have pointed out - I've been irked by almost every management decision. And every time I wonder"is this the last straw?" First, it was putting TVs on the treadmill, which force me to look at a (dark) screen while I run instead of out the window (also, who can look at a screen inches from their face when they're bouncing up and down on a treadmill?). Then it was dramatically scaling back the hours so that I could rarely exercise after work or on weekends (used to be open til 11 on weekdays and 7 on weekends). Then there was the dumb swimsuits-in-the-locker-room policy (doesn't affect me, so whatever). Now the last straw seems like it might be the towel and locker situations. I have a number of questions for management. - Do you consider satellite TV service on workout equipment or towel service more important? - In discontinuing towel service, did you factor in increased equipment maintenance costs due to people being no longer wiping down sweaty equipment? What about sanitation and safety issues arising from that? - In your profit-minded decision to allow virtually all of your lockers to be rented out, did you consider the costs of alienating members (like me) who arrive to find zero lockers available? - Who is running this place now? p.s. If management replys to this with a copied-and-pasted response, I promise I WILL cancel my membership. read more

So when I first started working out in 2018, I needed a gym that was affordable and convenient since I rely on the bus transportation for work. Oddly enough, there was this gym right next to my job and it was cheap considering the location, and very easy sign up. They REALLY need to update the gyms equipment, add some security and cleaner locker rooms. Now this is where I start saying the bad things about going to this gym, they allow homeless people to stay in and use all the amenities we pay for every month to use so it's insulting to know that they can care less about everyone's hygiene and not knowing where they've been. People in this gym STEAL so don't bring anything valuable cause apparently it happens a lot to the point where no one reports it anymore cause the staff and company are not responsible which is completely unfair to everyone's safety not to feel comfortable working out in the gym we're paying for. Sadly, I was a victim of having my iPhone XS Max 512gigs stolen from my own paid locked locker and they did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! To help me whatsoever and made me feel like my membership doesn't mean shit to them. I lost $1,500 that day and I'm still mad at the gym. I chose to cancel my membership cause they do NOT value me as customer and I will no longer do any business to them and they lost me as a customer. So be aware! This gym is convenient and cheap but for a good reason. If you choose to join this gym, be careful and don't use the showers. I only gave this two stars just cause they have potential but they really NEED TO CHANGE! read more

I will soon be cancelling my membership of almost 15 years. Once upon a time, this was a decent and reasonably priced gym, but within the last year or two, it has rapidly deteriorated into an unacceptable nightmare. The final straw for me is the men's locker scandal. Up until recently, it was easy to find a standard size locker to use with my own combination lock (they call it a "day locker"). Now it is almost impossible to find a "day locker" because almost all of them have been converted into "reserved" lockers. Did I mention that this occurred with practically no warning? I was willing to pay the extra monthly fee for a "reserved" locker, but I was told that there are NO RESERVED LOCKERS AVAILABLE. Furthermore, there is a waiting list that is at least 40 members long. Here are a few of the many other problems: - Without proper warning, they ended the free towel service. Now you must pay an extra $10 per month for ONE towel per visit or bring your own. Now all of the machines are even sweatier and dirtier than they once were. Thanks a lot. - There have been major issues with the air temperature. There was a lack of air conditioning during last summer and it can still get uncomfortably warm in the workout areas. - The cardio machines don't seem to be properly maintained - i.e. HR monitor doesn't work and/or headphone jack doesn't work. - Chipping and peeling paint everywhere. In the last 9 months, the state of things at the gym have greatly declined. Last July, without warning, there were suddenly notices all around the locker rooms about a "new swimsuits policy" [sic]. When I asked for the reasoning behind the policy, I was told it was because the locker room was now considered a family locker room, with the ALLOWANCE OF BOYS IN THE WOMEN'S LOCKER ROOM UP TO THE AGE OF 12. In the 10 years I've been a member here, the facility has been a place where mostly professionals from the surrounding high-rises have come to work out (like me), pay full price for access to the facility and want to feel comfortable at their gym. I'm not opposed to sharing the space with the non-adult basketball players and swimmers that come on the weekends, but 12 is too old to be in in the locker room of the opposite sex, and I can't imagine it would be okay to have a girl the age of 12 in the men's locker room. That aside, nudity is a part of being in a locker room, and the whirlpool and sauna rooms are women only, so it should be at the discretion of the individual whether to put a suit on - not a policy that is suddenly forced upon paying customers with no warning whatsoever. This Y seems to have it's priorities further confused by doing away with the complimentary towel amenity rather than FIXING THE MANY ROOF/CEILING LEAKS that require 5 gallon buckets to be placed around the gym floor, block access to some of the equipment, and just generally create a feeling of dilapitation and obvious lack of maintenance. The ceiling tiles are water stained or missing altogether and the issue just never seems to get resolved. It has been years. But I guess towels are more important than roof leaks. Please, managment of the Ketchum Y, correct these issues - let people go back to choosing for themselves whether to wear bathing suits in the women only areas, fix the roof leaks and replace the ceiling tiles, and give us back complimentary towels. The equipment will be less sweaty and gross, your long-time patrons will be happier, and fewer of us will consider migrating to other gyms. read more

I'm not a member, but I participate in the annual stair climb and the training program that the Y hosts. During training days the facility is open to non members who participate. The facility is super clean and the staff is really friendly. I'm a member of Gold's and it seems like the Y is a lot nicer when it comes to towel distribution. The locer room reminds me of Jr. high and the pool is out of order which is the main reason I joined Gold's. I'm a swimmer. It sucks to see that gorgeous pool area just sitting empty, but I guess there is a big problem with the land underneath and it is just "unfixable", bummer! Anyway, I highly recommend the training program for the stair climb, they kick your butt!! It takes place in june/july - sept. I always ride my bike, so I don't know about sucky parking issues. This Y is my home away from home. I'm there almost every day, mostly running on the treadmill but also using the stationary bikes and the weight machines. 3 floors, many rooms, lots of newly upgraded equipment, extensive locker room, and best of all, friendly people of all ages and ethnicities (none of the meat market vibe of other gyms in the area). There is a large hot tub and two saunas (at least in the women's section), though you have to wear a suit. What keeps this from a 5 star review are three things - 1. AC is so sub-par. On hot days, you die on the treadmill and in the locker rooms. 2. Showers are pretty horrible, almost no water pressure. 3. Here's the worst - you have to wear bathing suits in the saunas and hot tub!!!! It used to be clothing optional, but they changed it last year. These are segregated by gender, so why the prudishness? We all get naked in the locker room, so why not the sauna? Crazy. read more

A clean place. Can get very crowded at times, so do some research to find the perfect time of day to come in. Parking is difficult because you have to pay $2 per visit in the garage. This overall increases your cost of membership pretty drastically if you visit 3 or more times per week. But the facility is my favorite Y in L.A. I am an avid swimmer and use almost all portions of the Y. This place is heaven compared to the Anderson Munger Y. read more

Just cancelled my membership after coming here for 10+ years. This place has been on a rapid downward spiral this past year or so due to poor management. Echoing the other recent reviews on towels, broken equipment, lack of a/c, mold in shower rooms, and the locker issues, especially the lockers! Instead of like most gyms where you just come in to find an available locker, the management decided to let people rent out the lockers by paying more. One problem, they didn't think to put a limit on the number. Now, most of the lockers are rented out. This poor planning made it a huge pain to find a free locker if you didn't feel like paying extra to rent one. What made it worse is the way they carried out the new policy. They took the time to convert daily use lockers to rentals, but didn't bother to fix the rest with broken doors, which seemed like a back handed way to force you to pay more for a rental. Thanks, Y management team! Before cancelling, I actually tried to provide feedback to the manager about the situation. Unfortunately, he really didn't seem to care. I don't mind when gyms raise fees, it's the way you treat your members. I'm actually paying more to join another gym. See ya Y! read more

Would love to join the Y but work nearby and just based on the volume cranked up during their lunchtime spin class I would not. The class is done from the roof and the music projects loudly to nearby buildings. It's so rude to neighbors trying to get some work done. If that is the attitude being projecting from the Y to neighbors I'm concerned how they would treat members of the gym. read more

One of the most unique and nicest YMCA I have been to! There are three floors: the first consisting of the pool and locker rooms, the second floor has the weight lifting area (the free weights are in a separate area from the machines) and cardio machines and basketball court. The third floor has the indoor track, some extra cardio machines. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. Most of the time the gym isn't too crowded which is a real plus but they have all the needed equipment to make the proper gains! read more
