Since I couldn't focus on the map (I really needed to go!!!) I decided to just stop here and ask where the restrooms are. I was given specific instructions and found one around the corner from here. Hubbers and I decided to come back to see what goodies they had to offer. I will admit that they're very pricey for our taste but that didn't matter - they didn't have anything we liked. So why the 5 stars? Because the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They treated us like we just bought the entire store. I have several trips coming up and I wanted to update my Vuori collection. For most of the time, I was the only customer in the store. There were 3-4 sales people (young men and women) who stood huddled at the counter talking and playing on their phones. I was left to find sizes and styles. Eventually one young lady came over to help me. But the others stood there like it was social hour, not work. She never checked on me when I tried on clothes, and all I could hear from the dressing room was the endless chit chat. It was not a positive experience. I'm sure I would have purchased more than 2 tops had there been better customer service. Management needs to train these workers how to work.

I stopped by right away because it mentioned a Barnes & Noble being one of the stores there. First, I spotted M. Fredrick. I saw those gorgeous, hand-picked by their buyer. I didn't realize quite how much less expensive ever was in LA compared to San Francisco. Now, this many years later, it's no longer a thought nor a thing because I've lived here so long, but it was astonishing to me back when I was freshly 22. I picked out about 20-25 pieces of the most beautiful jeans, sweaters, shirts, shoes, tank tops and dresses. I also bought a pair of sweatpants that felt like thick silk, but mostly, like a white tiger- they were the first thing I bought the next morning on my break from work; so, I vividly remember that they were $600 before tax, which, to be honest, I did think they were on the pricey side, but I didn't think of it again. The many items I had purchased the afternoon prior came to almost $23,000, but I never ever in my life looked at prices of anything, so, it was no thing and to this day, I remember probably 7/8ths of what I bought. The clothes were definitely worth it and I would do it again, even now. The only problem is that they don't make clothes how they used to. We don't have the materials or aren't willing to use them on designer boutique clothing. Every chance I could, I went to an M. Fredric store for the next 10 years.

Same basic problem: the folding issue. Everything on the shelves is impeccably folded to a line. I very carefully (because I know how much the employees hate customers who tamper with their folds) eased a T-shirt off a very perfectly folded stack and the stack lost its perfect look. Then I accidentally brushed my elbow on another stack of nearby T's which caused an unfortunate crease on the one on top. The saleslady who hovered next to me during this mishap, perhaps in an effort to make it clear how much time they put into folding clothes at their job, took both piles of shirts off the shelf and made me wait with my items while she perfected the shirts' folds. After my daughter and I waited on her (no that's not a typo), she then announced she was now ready to ring me up at the register. This is and has been a continuous problem at this location. I hope management considers a workshop for the employees on quality and professional customer service. Making a customer wait with their items while you fold clothes is unacceptable and rude. This can and should be done after you've finished sale transactions. If I didn't like the actual James Perse clothing so much I'd truly never go back. Customers spending $400 on three T-shirts should be treated at a much higher standard.

My wife purchased a pair of men's sneakers online as a gift, costing over $1,000. When the package arrived, it did not include a shopping bag. I visited the store with my receipt and politely asked if it would be possible to receive a shopping bag. I showed her my receipt, explained that the shoes were purchased directly from Hermès online, and simply asked if she could provide a shopping bag. Instead of helping, she immediately responded with a rude, dismissive attitude, repeatedly saying that online purchases do not come with shopping bags and that the store could not provide one. After making me feel like I was asking for an unreasonable favor, she finally said, "This time I'm making an exception." While helping me, she rolled her eyes as she looked at the other shopping bags I was carrying. To make matters worse, she didn't even bother checking the size of my shoe box and handed me a small accessories bag that couldn't fit the shoes. I was in a rush to get home and prepare for a long drive to a birthday party, so I didn't realize the bag was the wrong size until I got home. By then, it was too late to return to the store. The issue was never the shopping bag, it was the complete lack of professionalism, courtesy, and respect. When someone spends over $1,000 with a luxury brand like Hermès, they expect exceptional customer service, regardless of whether the purchase was made online or in-store. Unfortunately, this employee made the experience feel cold, unwelcoming, and unnecessarily unpleasant. I have already contacted Hermès corporate and filed a formal complaint because this experience is simply unacceptable for a brand that prides itself on luxury and customer service. I sincerely hope management takes this complaint seriously. One employee with such poor customer service can damage the reputation of an entire store and drive loyal customers away. I called and was told that the return had to be completed within 15 days. At no time was I told that they only accept exchange or store credit. Unfortunately this store does not carry anything in xxl so there was not even anything I could exchange it for. I would have been forced to purchase a bunch of "stuff" that I did not want or need. This policy is absolutely the worst way of doing business. I did not come back months later and I had the receipt with me. This feels like a bait and switch policy and I would suggest no go to this store unless you are sure you want what you buy. My sister in law was with me and I exchanged the shirt for one in her size. She is the only person that was happy today.
