I'm not much of a beer drinker... especially craft beers, so I can't say much about that. But as far as the food and atmosphere this place is top notch! They do have many top shelf liquors however... so that hits the spot with me! My burger was excellent and I loved the pretzel bun. Service great, and the building was fun to explore. 1st time visiting & definitely will be back. SBB is in an old Theater. The ambiance is awesome! Lots of SBB beers On Tap Nice food menu! The Bacon Wrapped jalapeño appetizer was so good! Wanted more. Four of us ate and drank there on 9/17/26. I can't begin to express how impressed we were. It began with the ordering. One of us had diet restrictions. The waitress was very accommodating, and the food came out exactly as ordered. The presentation of the food was exceptional. The quality of the food was fantastic. Saturday afternoon, medium crowd. Long wait for the hostess who was also bussing table. Long wait for the waitress. Quite slow service. Servers are very nice, just slow. Kinda chaotic. Beer is good - like any other brewery (which is only reason this earned 2 stars). Building is cool. Food is horrible! Ordered $15+ chicken sandwiches which turned out to be compressed chicken and disgusting! Couldn't even finish half of mine and my husband ended up only eating his bun. Several pros and cons. Very cool remodel - like everyone else has mentioned. Hostess didn't greet us so much as "how many?" and put us at a table. Menus were fun and printed in newspaper style. Beer was fine but maxed out on the carbonation. The Hazy was, thankfully not all tropically fruited up. Burgers and fries were good. Beer cheese soup, while good, was not hot. I ordered it "loaded", which means that a tablespoon each of diced onions, bacon bits and cheese was served on the side - nice for customization, I guess. Also ordered a pizza to go and apparently they don't have pizza boxes so it came in two styrofoam boxes. Fine. I guess. What was not fine was the presentation, the quality and the $14 dollars worth of dryness and utter unappetizing-ness of what I found in the box. Service was fast and stressful - app came out about 2 minutes before entrees. Check was given before we were done - yeah I get that you want to turn over our table but geez. Beautiful brewery with amazing dark beers. Service felt rushed, but wasn't crowded on a rainy Wednesday -- not the typical relaxed service in a brewery. Food was delicious ~ $20 for a burger and (upgraded) small serving of sweet potato fries. They should have table information about the transition from theater to brewery, because you are going to have questions :). read more

What a surprise to find a thorough brewery which is located within a piece of history of a theater! Super friendly owners and servers. Felt so welcomed here! Steak and blue salad had superb cubes of steak. Shaved prime rib sandwich was divine dipped in their cheese soup. I enjoyed exploring their woodworks, stage and ceiling. The food was mediocre at best, I don't enjoy watching the owner of the establishment molest his wait staff!

Went here while visiting my in laws in Clintonville. This was a really cool space! Looked like they took an old theater and converted it into a brewery. The beer was pretty good even though they were all out of IPAs the night we went! I tried the Angry Mothers Milk Stout and the the coco loco porter. Both were tasty and good. Husband had the whiskey pb porter, which he also enjoyed! For meals we got the cheese curds, which were tasty, I highly recommend them. For dinner, I tried the beer Mac and cheese with grilled chicken, which was pretty good as well. It's a big space and overall pretty cool! read more

Food was spectacular. The chicken pesto sandwich was so fresh and the roll one of the best I have had. The bone on wings were tender and juicy with great flavor. They knocked it out of the park with ambiance having renovated to early 1900s theater. Service was fantastic. The city is outstanding. Come on Thursday night as they offer an outdoor music venue. Stubborn Brothers is new to the Shawano scene, but for those of us that frequent the area we are well aware of the painstakingly slow process of getting the place ready for operation. I seriously was questioning whether the place was ever going to open. Then just when the community is told Stubborn Brothers is ready to open the world shuts down due to the Covid pandemic. Well it's definitely been a long time in coming and the building (exterior) is still a work in progress but Stubborn Brothers is FINALLY here. The building interior remodel is absolutely incredible and has brought a dilapidated blighted building back to life in a way not believable without seeing for yourself. The interior resembles something you'd expect to see in a large metropolitan area. It's great to see the theater stage restored and incorporating the old orchestra style pit area right into the new building. We visited on opening Friday evening. We were shocked to be ushered to a seat almost immediately. Our server was attentive throughout. There's generally a few service stumbles as a restaurant begins its run, but our server was on her game. I went with the standard Friday night fish fry. The french fries were crisp and the fish breading had a nice seasoned flavor about it. My wife ordered an eggplant sandwich and the french onion soup. I tried her soup and while being an ok soup, my personal thought was it needed just a little additional seasoning kick in the broth. My wife enjoyed her sandwich, but indicated she didn't feel the eggplant had been cooked evenly throughout. I'm solidly guessing this is not an item regularly ordered and being the first night in business I'm further thinking this is just one of the things the chef will fine tune as the days go by. All in all definitely five stars for the Shawano new kid on the block. A great beer selection with a brew flavor for most taste preferences. Welcome to the scene Stubborn Brothers. The space is impressive and well renovated. However, I had a very bad experience here. I sat down to order a beer and a flatbread. The flatbread took 40 minutes to arrive and was mostly dough - very little sauce and cheese. I also found the beer to be unremarkable. Service was great. Place was beautifully remodeled. Food, no clue as we ended up having to get it to go and ended up throwing it all away as we had to drive home a couple hours away. We found the owner rude and insensitive. Our son is young, nonverbal, and this was my first instance of feeling embarrassed and ashamed of trying to take him out to eat like anyone else deserves. The owner came barreling in the back door yelling, ironically, out to his servers about "what's with all the screaming" and staring at us the whole time. Yes, at the time, he had started communicating by short small screams but we're able to manage it. And we did! We don't feel 3 or 4 short screams out of excitement , warranted the reaction. A hidden gem in the middle of nowhere, and that's to say the least. My giant Chicago-based family bombarded this amazing new place at the height of the lunch crunch, and I'd be damned if they didn't serve us with style. They were pretty packed and understaffed (thanks, COVID), but the staff who was there performed above and beyond. They were super accommodating under pressure. My husband-to-be and I are home-brewers, part-time bartenders, and one of us is a high-school Chemistry teacher...we know our way around beer. This beer knocked it so far out of the ballpark that I think they smashed somebody's window in Cecil. One of the namesake Stubborn Brothers, Aaron, took our order with patient kindness as each of us 10 city-folk barked our orders at him. The drinks took a while. This is because, according to science or something, one bartender cannot serve a full 50-top restaurant all at once. They just don't have that many hands. But the beer...so amazing. We got a flight, and each beer hit just right. Our food was also great. The French onion soup definitely didn't taste like dishwater, like one of the previous podunk reviewers suggested. Actually, it tastes a lot like the French onion soup I used to eat when I lived near France in my 20s. The bacon flatbread could have dealt with goat cheese instead of feta, but that's a personal preference. I'm no chef. Either way, if I were stuck at my parents' lake house on another rainy day, I could definitely spend some hours at this place, grading some papers, drinking delicious beer, admiring the decor, and catching a whiff of that delicious boiled malt coming from the brew room. read more

Stopped for lunch and beers on 9/3. Chilly, rainy day. Beautiful environment. Very comfortable, except for the BAFs running with the AC on. The beer was great. Between the six of us, we ordered six different types - all great! What I really want to comment on is the food... We ordered shrimp tacos (which lacked seasoning and personality), fried cod (okay, not special, reminded me of fish sticks back in the day), fried walleye (pretty good!), clam chowder (didn't finish, needs improvement), grilled walleye (very good), coleslaw (incredibly bland). The tartar sauce did not taste good. French fries were good and hot. $150 total for mediocre food at an amazing brewery. We were just disappointed. From the stage upfront with old projectors to the extraordinary entrance, this place sports quite the ambiance. We loved it. Grabbed a booth along the brewery side by the windows. Sat outside and had a flight. Out of the 6 beers I had I thought they were amazing! Very flavorful and very tasty! We also had the ahi tuna tacos and the wings. The French onion soup was terrible, no flavor, like brown water with onions plus it came lukewarm. The chicken pesto sandwiches where dry and had NO fresh mozzarella. Fresh mozzarella cheese is not pre shredded bagged cheese. Fresh is soft like a pillow not hard and barely existant not good zero stars. Remember to Keep the $1.20. In my google review the person who responded made it sound like the poor food was my fault please go to that review to see the response. My day could have been made better if there was an actual chef cooking in the kitchen with quality food. The restaurant itself was very nice, felt clean and the server was very nice.
