It is a small shop but they have warehouses to store the rest of their inventory so if you don't see something there, definitely ask about their warehouse storage. We found out this store has been here 60 years, with the second generation of the same family owning it. We rented my 4th grader's clarinet from Golden Music this school year for about $42 per month. When…read morewe were given a working hand-me-down clarinet from a friend, we returned the rental and asked Golden Music about having the other clarinet checked over. I was surprised to learn that Golden Music wanted $25 just to look at the instrument and tell me what repairs it might need. Even before a full evaluation, I was told it likely needed between $600 and $800 worth of work, but I would have to pay the $25 fee to find out exactly what was needed. I also asked what it would cost to purchase the rental clarinet we had been using and was quoted $587. At $42 per month, we had already paid approximately $378 in rental fees, so purchasing the instrument would have brought our total cost to nearly $1,000 for a student clarinet, even with the "buy it now" discount. I was also told that if we stopped renting over the summer, we would lose any credit toward purchasing the instrument, which felt unnecessarily pressure-filled. Something about the experience didn't sit right with me, so I decided to get a second opinion. I called around and took the clarinet to Flesher-Hinton Music in Wheat Ridge. They looked at it for free and told me that not all of the corks and pads needed to be replaced. Instead, they recommended a cleaning and replacing one cork joint, with a total estimate of $95. The difference between the two assessments was significant. Based on my experience, I strongly encourage parents to get a second opinion before agreeing to major repair work. Flesher-Hinton was knowledgeable, helpful, and transparent about what the instrument actually needed. I won't be returning to Golden Music and would not recommend them based on my experience.

I was standing around waiting for help and luckily I had Carson come around the corner and asked me if I needed anything. He was extremely helpful in that he helped me with checking on if they had what I wanted in stock, picking out the best studio speakers needed for the keyboard, and sold me a package deal that was included with the keyboard. Carson said if I had any specific questions on anything to come in and ask him specifically and he would help me out. He got me all set up and I came away feeling great about the whole experience.

She deconstructs music, songs and guitar skills that had been daunting - and she patiently guides through it. She isolates and breaks down new skills, material and challenging sections, then puts it back together. She works in the perfect balance of big picture overview and repetition and practice building muscle memory - while learning songs from day one. She is realistic about the need to practice to improve. She enjoys music and emphasizes the fun of playing and singing. She is a very clear communicator and well organized business owner, too. The drum selection from sets, cymbals (especially cymbals), sticks, etc are the best here. They also have an isolated drum room with a sick DW kit with a bunch of cymbals. Please be mindful of others though when playing the kit in there and don't be obnoxious/play for a long period non stop especially if others are clearly trying to play. The icing on the cake is Jacob who is super knowledgeable about all things drums and will make sure to take care of you. I would drive out of my way just to buy from him.
