We ordered and paid for a NEW guitar. The center sent us a floor model with scratches and dents and charged us full price. I would think this wouldn't be allowed. I spoke to the customer service at headquarters- who was amazing - and said they consider floor models to be new instruments despite all the hands that have handled it, scratched and dents. I originally gave this 1 star but I changed to 3 star because customer service fixed the issue. They sent us a brand new guitar from the warehouse just as we had asked for in the first place. Be aware if you order and it's back ordered or not in stock at the time, you might get a floor model. Except for the back and forth and the hassle of having to return the instrument, I would still shop here. read more

We had to pick up a friend's acoustic guitar that he was having re-strung and tuned. I don't play any instruments so I've never had any reason to go inside. I'm glad I did today though. So many people enjoying music and playing instruments. The selection of guitars and amps was off the hook. Drums, sheet music, accessories and everything in between. They even have areas for instrument repair and music lessons. Everyone seemed like they were happy and really enjoying being in the store. It's clearly a place people like to hang out. A social center of sorts. I liked the fact they had armed security in the parking lot and inside the front door. There simply can't be too much security these days. The parking lot was simple and wee maintained. The staff was friendly bordering on perky. Thumbs up for Guitar Center. read more

I've been to all the Guitar Centers in Colorado and this one is by far the best one. This is coming from a drummer's perspective though so keep that in mind. The drum selection from sets, cymbals (especially cymbals), sticks, etc are the best here. They also have an isolated drum room with a sick DW kit with a bunch of cymbals. Please be mindful of others though when playing the kit in there and don't be obnoxious/play for a long period non stop especially if others are clearly trying to play. The icing on the cake is Jacob who is super knowledgeable about all things drums and will make sure to take care of you. I would drive out of my way just to buy from him. read more

I have no idea why there are so many negative responses. In the past couple of years I have purchased a number of bass guitars from Guitar Center, mainly online. On the rare occasion there has been an issue, I am able to return it to this brick and mortar location for return or adjustment. Often are greeted by someone, today by the store manager. The store is clean, well organized, and with an incredible inventory at more then competitive prices. I once bought a used bass online that had a hairline crack. I took it here to return and they had new one, same model, on sale for less money. I left with a new bass and money in my pocket. I highly recommend Guitar Center Denver and no, I am not associated in any way. read more

I have bought several guitars there and they always get me in and out, very efficently A special shout out to Clair who is a wonderful tech, and helped me with a rather crummy BB King Epiphone, i think it was wired by Goober at the factory. I purchased a DW Convertible Acoustic-to-Electronic kit a week ago. Three boxes arrived one day, two showed up from another shipper a day later. I immediately took down my old kit and packed it away to make room for my upgrade. I put everything together from the first day's boxes. What hadn't arrived? the snare and cymbals. The next day, the first box was a snare. The second had another kick, in a different color, no less. I immediately called, and my 'consultant' wasn't available. I spoke with someone else who told me it'd take a few days to do an 'investigation' to see what happened. I would have to send back the kick and once in their hands, it'd take a couple of days for them to send out the correct item. I was so upset with how they were handling things that I demanded the cymbals be sent out now, and to overnight them. The following day I was told they'd be sent out. It's now a day later and they STILL haven't been sent, although I just got an email that it was waiting carrier pickup. Their "overnight" promise? Will be delivered in 5 days. I don't think they have any intention of making this right...or keeping a customer. What's crazy is that when I chatted them on their site about asking if I could return my $9k kit in the nearest store (a 7 hour drive) because their customer service is so horrid, I was told that it could also be shipped back. NO offer to even help or make it right. Shame on you, Guitar Center. You've lost a customer. read more

I would give this guitar center 0 stars if I could. By far the worst rental experience I've ever experienced. We rented a subwoofer for an event 2 hours away and purchased insurance on it. They promised us that they tested the subwoofer before renting it to us but the second we arrive and set up the subwoofer we notice that it's completely blown. After calling them and having to drive all the way back to pick up a new one they claim we blew the sub negligently and insurance won't cover a thing. After we prove that it was impossible for a power surge to have blown it, they immediately shift to saying that we must have dropped it negligently and insurance still won't cover any of it. A total scam and by far the slimiest customer service I have ever dealt with. I will never be going to this guitar center or any guitar center again after this experience. read more

The pros: It has a large inventory, for the most part. The cons: The service. I came in, ready to buy a new guitar. No one came over to help, and not because it was busy, the store was pretty empty. The guitars themselves are in so-so condition. I only put so much blame on them for that, as it's a downside of a large store. A lot of stuff is overpriced though. All in all, I wouldn't say to never go to a guitar center, but don't expect much either, at least not from this one. read more

Crazy story. Went in this store looking to buy a guitar and happened to get thirsty. Naturally I go to the water fountain but nothing could of prepared me for what I was about to experience. My eyes were opened. It was like I never had drank before in my life. The water was so pristine, the taste was so pure. I now get all my water from the guitar center by refilling my 5 gallon jugs here on the weekends. Everyone who thirsts come. The instruments are pretty cool too. read more

My girlfriend bought me a beautiful black acoustic guitar for Valentine's Day from this store a few months ago and I have been taking weekly lessons from Cameron there at the store. A few weeks ago, my guitar fell five stories off a balcony and broke in half. Thinking I had to shell out the funds to buy a new one, I brought my broken guitar back to the store. Rebecca, the store manager and Soren informed me that my girlfriend had purchased the warranty so my guitar would be replaced at no cost to me. They worked tirelessly with me and the insurance company to make sure I had a "loaner" to continue playing and ensured my claim was processed so I could buy a replacement. ESPECIALLY on Sheridan street. never seen such terrible customer service. i swore to never come back here but decided to help out a friend. came in, asked for advice on where the microphones were. got some mumbles and the clerk decided to sit on his phone. asked again, and he said the sm-58 was out of stock... i was pissed. then i asked him AGAIN to check the stock. he THEN put his phone down and checked the stock and TO HIS SURPRISE they actually had 10 microphones !!! by the way... he told another employee to go get the microphones as we waited 5 minutes and he got back to his social media on his phone. Another customer was about to leave but then heard there were more mics in stock so that guy just sold $200 worth of gear without even trying. read more

Avoid signing up for lessons with guitar lessons here at all costs! The first time we came, I came on a Saturday to try to sign up for lessons. That was a joke, so they asked me to call back on a Tuesday when Julie would be in. So I called back last Friday, Julie scheduled us and took payment then scheduled us for Mondays at 3pm with Stacy for lessons--The process was horrible because the credit card system is outdated and took like 15 minutes to process my card. Fine. Done. Scheduled. I confirmed with Julie, okay so this coming Monday at 3pm?? She says YES. Monday is here. We show up. I TOOK OFF OF WORK to bring my child to her first lesson, and everyone looks at me like I am from mars. No Stacy. We are on no schedule. We NEVER GOT BOOKED!!! My uncle bought my daughter's outrageously expensive electic guitar from this place and trying to find her lessons has been absolutely stupid. Oh my gah, I'm so unbelievably frustrated, I will never give this place another dime of my money. My daughter is upset and I missed an afternoon of work at the hospital because of their carelessness. read more

I have never witnessed such a low degree of professionalism and unethical business practices as I did from this Guitar Center location. They take advantage of their customers to leak out as much money from them as possible. In this situation, they made up false accusations to cover for them renting us equipment that was broken from the moment it left the store. After showing concrete evidence that we properly handled, wired, and maintained the rented equipment while in our possession and could not have caused the damage, they began making up any new accusations they possibly could with zero evidence of them in an attempt to force us to pay large sums of additional money. Not to mention that we purchased insurance in case of anything going wrong (we were told it covers everything except theft when offered the option to add it on). They have proven that they will do whatever it takes to get out of actually covering their customers through said insurance. These are extremely unethical practices that appeared to have been taken up and embraced by every employee there, they disregard any semblance of care and respect to us as customers. As one who often has events that require renting out equipment Guitar Center offers, I hate to say that I plan to never step foot inside of any guitar center location ever again to avoid the risk of being scammed out of thousands of dollars after every interaction. I would advise a very strong word of caution to anybody entering their stores. read more

It's very rare that I encounter business practices as bad and corrupt as I have witnessed at this Guitar Center. This was the most crooked rental experience I have ever had. We rented sound equipment from Guitar Center for a couple of days with insurance (should something happen to the equipment). We were told insurance covers "everything but theft." We went to set up the equipment and found that some of it was completely broken. We then called Guitar Center and they immediately blamed us for negligence and said our insurance policy is useless. Let me be clear, we had sound engineers oversee the safe setup and transportation of the sound system. This was not negligence on our end. When I went into the store to talk to them about it, they started making up reason after reason as to why it was negligence. As the conversation went on, the staff began to yell and lose all professionalism. Not to mention, the speakers we rented were completely beat up (dents, chips in the wood). If you're looking to rent items, go literally ANYWHERE ELSE. Renting from this place guarantees subpar equipment and a total nightmare if anything goes wrong. read more

Beware the musician ego. Came in to grab a cord and stopped to look at the bass guitars. My spouse expressed interest in fiddling around with one so I was asking which color she preferred since the quality didn't really matter. In the middle of our conversation an older employee inserted himself into our conversation asking what we're looking for. I said just looking at the bass guitars for my spouse, getting ideas for another time. He said, "look I'm not a salesman, but what are you looking for." I cannot stand when people can't take "just looking" as an answer. I said we were discussing paint colors to which he exclaimed "paint?!" I replied, "color, whatever." He laughed, "oh, well!" We just turned around and left immediately. I was not about to have this conversation where I'm made to feel like an idiot. read more

I was wary after reading reviews. The products look like they've been rummaged through, customer service doesn't say hello until I've been hanging around for a while waiting at the counter with product in my hand, I was not given a receipt or confirmation regarding the return I made, the men treat me like a woman that doesn't know what I'm talking about when I've been a part of electronica music since the 90s. On top of that, I'm an educator and I'm the buyer for my department when I asked if they offered a discount for Education I was told no. I know that not to be true for this company as I have been the purchaser at other locations around the United States. Nobody likes to be judged & equipment needed extra cleaning during COVID-19.
