He fixed the problem, patiently waited with me to make sure the problem was fully fixed, and even showed me where to go on Ameren to get discounts on certain things should I need them in the future. Very friendly and professional and got the problem fixed for a very good cost! My issue was in trying to book him. I had done some research and found the problem I was experiencing was likely due to my thermostat. So I messaged them asking if if they were able to fix thermostats and left them my number to text me. I got a text saying that it would need to be replaced, not fixed. I said that was fine and proceeded to ask them to come out. I told them I was available everyday after 3:15 as I am a teacher and can't leave class early to get home and let them in. They said They were open from 2:00 to 5:00 and couldn't promise they wouldn't come at 2:00. This baffled me. I told them I couldn't come home early. Wouldn't you just send your worker to take a long lunch or run errands for the company if you had to wait like that? Seemed very odd and made it feel like whoever was in charge of booking appointments didn't care about my schedule.

The HVAC guy from Danco was rude during the inspection, which was expected, from neighbor feedback. But 20 days after closing, when the air was turned on and did not work, I contacted Dan and he laughed. He reminded me that my check cashed and this was my problem. He did not offer to work with me in any way or offer any feedback besides, things happen and it was not his problem. Check your paperwork before you agree to purchase. When I was shopping for a Geothermal installer I…read morehad narrowed it down to Covenant Heating and Cooling and another local company. Everything was close except; the other company was offering a 20-year warranty for their Geo system. The salesman from CHC told me that he would throw in the 20-year warranty if I went with them. (The extended warranty was available by the Bosche at an additional fee) and CHC said they would pay for the upgrade. At the same time, we also had an internet accessible Honeywell thermostat, Honeywell electronic air cleaner and a Carrier humidifier installed. After the first year we had the annual maintenance performed. That was when we discovered that the air cleaner was obsolete and filters were only offered by a third party. The 3rd party filters don't seem to be working, (due to excess dust on the furniture). Recently the outside sensor for the thermostat started eating batteries. The first batteries lasted for more than 4-years. The new lithium ion batteries since then only last about a month. I contacted Honeywell and they said the installer would need to contact them since they installed the unit. Although Honeywell has a 5-year warranty, CHC does not honor the warranty. They only warranty it for 1 year. With all of this, I thought I should check to ensure that I have the 20-year warranty that I was told that I was going to receive. Surprise.... they have no record of the offer by the salesman. Lesson learned: no matter how nice the salesman seems, make sure you get it in writing and although the manufacture has a good warranty, make sure your installer backs the warranty.
