The technician didn't know what he was doing. Once he realized the AC needed a new part, it took an hour to arrive, and he wasn't allowed to leave while waiting. We called them two weeks ago for appt for furnace (yearly) check as our regular guy was no longer in business. Fritch never showed so we called. The lady said they called previous owner (their name was still in their system) to confirm appt. Of course former owner said they didn't. When the Fritch lady told my wife this, my wife said we bought the house from the previous owners years ago, and why didn't Fritch input our info when we called to make initial appt? Fritch couldn't explain. She then asked for our email, but my wife said we weren't going to reschedule. The lady said "ok thank you. Goodbye ". FRITCH installed a central air conditioner for me about 6-7 years ago. I didn't realize what shoddy and cut corners work they did. I was told it was too of the line, but found out it's very low quality. They charged me a lot of money for it, too. The office girls lied to me often and rescheduled appointments too often. I can NOT say anything good about FRITCH HAVC in Peoria, IL. I've had to replace the air conditioner which should have lasted more than 6-7 years. read more

My mom lives in Peoria Heights and uses Fritch for her heating and cooling. After her thermostat and furnace stopped working a few weeks ago, they came out and did some work to fix the trouble. Some of it was under warranty, but not all of it, so my mom paid the bill for the charges. About a week later, her furnace stopped working again, and they returned. Upon further inspection, they discovered that they had misdiagnosed it the first time. They refunded her all that she had paid previously, apologized for their mistake, and did the necessary repairs, even crediting her some money back on the (significantly lower) bill for the new work. This is a family-owned, Peoria company - a true, local business - who gets it, on all levels. From Mike to Angela & Joseph with help from Andy (thorough & affable sales guy), these people deliver and do things right. That doesn't always mean they tell you what you want to hear, but they are honest, fair & straightforward, and they are really helpful with diagnosing a problem and providing the right solution. They back up their work. What does that mean? Well, they took over & are finishing to take care of the HVAC on our Home Reno project, about 18 mos. ago. We had to sever with an inexperienced vendor, and they jumped in to the rescue. The project was not without many challenges, due to the complexity of the system design, an old home and its nuances and a quite particular homeowner . They have been back to rework, fix, reassess and bring the work to completion. They don't offer the lowest price for their work, but offer value, integrity and skill, along with excellent customer service. And when there was a difference in what was charged against an unrealistic expectation on my part, they patiently waited for everything to come to right conclusion (read: supreme integrity). After 2 home reno projects in the past 10 years, you truly get what you pay for. Go cheap, and be ready for headaches, job walkoffs and subpar work. Go right, and be ready to have the job done right. They were not the cheapest estimate that was received it but we decided to go with them based on their reputation and the reviews of the product they would be installing. When it was time to replace the old AC, I had 2 companies come by to give me estimates. Fritch was neither of them as I thought they would be too expensive. One guy gave me an astronomical quote and the other didn't show when he said he would, instead sliding a "quote" illegibly scribbled on the back of an envelope under my door. So I decided I wanted to see what the big dogs would charge me and called Fritch. A salesperson arrived on time, dressed nicely with a laptop and briefcase. He looked all around and asked thoughtful questions like how many sq. feet was there and how cool did I like my house. He showed me 3 options all of which were cheaper than my previous estimates and then customized the one I liked, pulled a portable printer from his briefcase and printed it off for me to sign. The day of installation, a young guy came by himself and worked for 6 solid hours getting it installed. It was the most professional, satisfying experience I have had with any type of repair company. I never felt talked down to or taken advantage of the way some companies treat women. Sometimes a company becomes successful for the right reasons and this is one of them! read more

I called Fritch on a Thursday morning. The temperature was running almost 90 plus for the week. I thought ok this will take a long time to get service. They really surprised me, they came out later that afternoon, fixed the ac problem and the price even shocked me. Customers really do not know what is wrong when they call repair companies. They could have said something major was wrong and charged an arm and a leg, they did not. I appreciate the honesty and they went above and beyond, even cleaned the unit outside. My husband is disabled and at home all day, so I am so thankful the problem was fixed and now our electric bill will not be huge and he can stay cool. read more

We've always had excellent customer service from Fritch, and our most recent experience is a great example. Last night was New Year's Eve, and the forecast was a low of -15 degrees. At 11 p.m. we noticed that our furnace had stopped working. We called Fritch's number, and the call was answered immediately by someone who took down our information. Someone else called back in a few minutes and said they had received a lot of other calls, but would send a technician as soon as possible. The technician arrived shortly after 2 a.m. He discovered that the blower motor needed to be replaced and kept working on it until it was fixed, which took until almost 6 a.m. Because we have a service contract, the charge was only $83 (it would have been less if it wasn't a holiday). We are so grateful that he stayed to make sure we had heat during this bitterly cold weather. We can always count on Fritch to get the job done. I recommend them highly. read more
