I was disappointed in Studio 67. First of all, they are unorganized. I called to inquire about availability for a cut + colour correction + balayage. The next available appointment they offered me was for Wednesday at 6:00pm. I told her I would not be able to make it downtown in time, plus I didn't think that would be enough time given the services that I want. She agreed and we moved onto the next appointment time and confirmed for Saturday at 10:00am. On Tuesday, I get a text reminding me of my Wednesday appointment and asking me to text back to confirm. I call them immediately to inform them that I never made the appointment for Wednesday because I wouldn't have had enough time, and that I was scheduled for Saturday instead. Thank god they also had my Saturday appointment because I didn't want to wait any longer. Saturday morning, I was running a little late. I figured I would only be ~15 mins late so I didn't bother giving them a heads up, as I would be in there for the next 4-6 hours anyways. Around 10:05-10:10ish, I get a call from them asking where I am because the next appointment is scheduled for 11am. Wtf?! I explained the situation to them and they didn't care. They said they wouldn't have time today as they were fully booked. Needless to say, I was upset but I still went to the appt because I was almost there anyways. I figured I would get my cut and do the colour another day. When I got there, the receptionist and the stylist were both friendly. Since I wasn't able to get my hair coloured, we spent most of my haircut chatting (as a consultation) of what I would do next time I came in. Even though they were nice and friendly, I was still upset about the whole situation. A business like this should not be so disorganized. Anyways, I left with an $85 mediocre haircut. Also, there was something I didn't realize during the appointment. As I was leaving, I was walking down the street and it felt like something was poking/stinging my legs. I looked down and my leggings were covered in hair. It was gross, extremely irritating, such a rookie mistake, and I had to throw out my leggings. I don't even know how that happened because she had the styling cape/apron over me. This place is just a mess. read more

Be extremely careful giving your credit card information to this place. They will pressure you to rebook or just rebook you without your consent and then not send any appointment reminders. I received my only appointment reminder two hours after my appointment time (that I don't recall requesting) was supposed to be. I then looked at my credit card and the salon charged me $410. No one called me to see where I was for this supposed appointment, they just charged my card. I had to call the salon (which I could have easily gotten to in 5 minutes) after I received the expired reminder (two hours after the appointment). The person on the phone was very cold and then scolded me for swearing when I said this is "effing" ridiculous. I was a regular customer, and had been 5 to 6 times, the owner Chanel was my stylist. I have still not heard from her after this incident. I received no phone call, no invoice, no explanation of fees, no proof of appointment, no contact, I was simply charged $410. When I explained this to my new salon I had to find after this incident, they were horrified and assured me this is not standard industry practice. Beware. read more

Stumbled across Sherry for colour and she did an amazing job!!! I've had my hair dyed a lot over the course of the past 2 years- always a balayage since I prefer a colour that is just a bit more low maintenance as it grows out. The problem I had though was after several sessions of balayage on top of balayage on top of balayage, my hair was extremely light. I did love the blonde at first, but the up-keep became insane even with toning sessions and weekly uses of Fanola No Yellow Shampoo. It got brassy on my hair quickly and because it was so light, a lot of the damage showed through. This is where Sherry came in! I explained to her what I wanted and came in with multiple pictures of the colour I was looking for. Because it's been dyed so many times, I wanted the darker pieces back in my hair. My hair in a lot of pictures looked like a solid colour, and I wanted more dimension so the contrast wouldn't be as stark between my black hair and balayage. I still wanted to be quite cool toned, but overall I did want to go darker. I wanted an ashy brown or dark ashy blonde that wouldn't fade as quickly. When my hair was done, it was EXACTLY the colour that I wanted which rarely is the case. The colour is perfect and even now a month later, it looks extremely fresh still. Highly recommend Sherry! She was patient and took the time to understand her clients' concerns and desires. I ended up getting a cut as well to cut off all those dead ends! P.S. I get my hair done by Sherry all the time and she's delightful in both customer service and giving a great haircut! A lot of hair salons I've gone to in the past have been rushed and neglected the details. Everyone that works here is incredibly nice, great at communicating and patient with their craft - hair is no joke. There's so much complexity behind the layers of a good haircut or hair dye and the knowledge is what you're ultimately paying for. read more

Honestly, this was the worst haircut I have ever gotten. She cut entirely incorrect even though I showed her photos of how my hair normally is. It grew out all crocked and just wrong. I paid $70 for a shitty hair cut and 1 month later (WHEN IT FINALLY GREW OUT SO YOU CAN SEE WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE), I realized she gave me 0 layers so my hair just falls flat. She has clearly never cut thick or coarse hair before because this was handled so wrong. When I emailed them asking if I can come in DUE TO A PREVIOUSLY DONE BAD HAIRCUT, they sneakily didn't say I would be charged AGAIN for the mistake THEY made. I would never come back here again and nor would I recommend anyone else to. read more

I chose Studio 67 because of the fact that it advertised itself as an Aveda salon. I dont really know what to say other than this was the single worst color and customer service experience I have ever received. Got home from my highlight appointment with Chris only to discover that the sides of my head were totally covered in multiple bleach lines from his poor highlight work. I called immediately and asked to go back in to have it fixed. After he tried to tone it, the lines were still apparent. At this point I'm irate as I have paid over $300 for what is turning out to be a nightmare color situation. Another stylist came over to look at me and determined the answer was to do more foils and cover up the lines. I sit for another hour while they do extra highlights. When they came out the lines were all still there. I left the salon nearly in tears with wet hair and insisted that a manager call me, as I'm pretty certain at this point I deserve a straight up refund. When my hair dried, one side is so over highlighted it's practically white, while the other side is basically brown with a white bleach stain on it. It's worse than it started. Not only has the owner not called me, but the salon is now screening my calls. I've called multiple times, left 2 messages and no one will pick up or return. Since a picture is worth 1000 words I'm posting several. I would strongly advise against this salon unless you want to end up looking embarrassingly bad for several hundred dollars. read more

I never write bad reviews. This is my first because it was a truly disappointing experience. I was told over the phone that I could do a serum treatment for $30. They did a wash and one application of oil into hair and blow dry. Tried to charge me $80+ I asked to get a cut instead. The "maintenance cut" was literally a few snippets of slip hair ends that I could have done at home. An hour later, I ended up paying $60+tip and hair looks exactly the same as before. read more

Sherry is my go-to for colour. i do not let anyone else touch my hair! her passion and expertise is very reassuring, especially when you are new to colour, period. she really takes the time and will recommend what is best for your hair. you can tell she is very knowledgeable, as she will explain to you the steps and processes needed to get your hair to where you want it to be (for example, if your naturally dark and wish to go light or more 'bronde'). her honestly helps ensure that my hair isn't damaged during the process. she also takes the time to ensure she understands what exactly it is you want. a lot of times we go to a stylist with pictures and come out with something completely different. she will let me know if it's a colour we can easily achieve or if it will take 2/3 sessions. i have been with her for almost 2 years now. i always get asked where i get my hair done and have recommended her to many friends and friends of friends! they have not been disappointed :) thanks Sherry, you're a gem! read more

A butchered hair cut is one thing. But unresponsive management is another. Way too much of my hair was cut off and I went back and had it somewhat fixed so it didn't look so detached. The lovely girl who fixed it was the reason I sent an email to management, to acknowledge her great help but also to explain what I felt about my original hair cut in the first place. I sent a detailed but short email to the email address advertised on their website and received no response. The fact that too much of my hair is gone is already upsetting, but to not get a response from management just shows the lack of care for customer and contentment and lack of pride for their own salon and company. I live in the area and I definitely will not recommend based on the fact that if you are upset with the end product, you can be sure management and the owner will not respond to your emails. read more

About a year ago, I had made the decision to get highlights with the intention of gradually going blonde. I had shared my vision with approx 6 stylists and various salons in the city since October 2017. Each time however, I was left unsatisfied with brassy yellow highlights and not to mention, $280 dollars down the drain. This past month, I was ready to give up and just completely dye my hair one solid colour. That's until I made the decision to give Studio67 a shot. I figured, I had nothing to lose and I had zero expectations. I scheduled an appointment for a Wednesday afternoon with Michelle. I walked in 15 mins earlier and asked if they had time to see me now, Michelle greeted me with a warm smile and a handshake and told me that she was happy to get me started right away. She sat me down in front of the mirror, we had about a 10 mins discussion on what my vision was, and I instantly felt that my hair was in the right hands. She said that I was going to leave "a blonde" and that she was going to get me to the colour that I had been asking for over the last year. The great thing about Studio67 is that they complete your colour at a table setting with updated magazines, coffee etc... so its great for catching up on work but also great if you just want to sit, relax and have a good conversation. One she rinsed my hair, it was time for the big reveal - even with my har wet, I noticed a drastic difference in brightness. After the blow dry, cut and style, I was the most happy I have ever been sitting in a salon chair. I told Michelle that I have finally found my girl and that I would definitely be back. Overall, I would recommend this salon to anyone that is looking for a stylist/colourist that will listen to exactly what they wish to achieve. read more

I got my hair done here a few months ago and after attempting to get quotes from other salons and realizing how much work needs to be done, I've decided to write a review. My stylist was Sheri. I came from box dyed hair and requested to have a colour correction and highlights. I noticed weeks later that the black is still in my hair and my highlights were nowhere near what I had wanted. She also charged me for a haircut. I asked for layers and she took a mere inch off and billed me 70 for that WITHOUT A STYLE OR ANYTHING. I literally left with wet hair after an awful blowdry in a Toronto winter. I also paid for Olaplex and the amount of damage done to my hair was irreparable. The total amount spent was $580, including a tip. If I had only known to go a salon like Lisa Dinh or literally anywhere else, I could have possibly achieved the color and hair that I desired. Also, to add further insult, I messaged her asking about a future appointment to go lighter, as we both had planned, and she decides to ignore my message and unfollow me from Instagram. Overall, terrible experience and money wasted at my first attempt for balayage hairlights. I now have to spend an excessive amount at another salon to get the colour correction done right and to start from ground zero. Don't waste your time or money here. read more
