This place is awesome. I don't really give many f**ks about my hair but even I can tell the difference between an ok cut and a great one. Not to mention, Meredith, my stylist, was so cute I nearly asked her to have my firstborn, and I don't even really like kids. It ain't that pricey and certainly more than worth it. They have this cool room in the back that's rockin' a chill speakeasy vibe, and they wash your hair and give you a nice head massage. My experience with the salon and stylist was fine. Unfortunately, I didn't get what I wanted but the cut and color were still nice. I tried to get used to it but it just isn't what I paid for. I left a comment on their website explaining how I felt. I received a call from the guest services manager who was not at all concerned with keeping my business but actually tried to tell me I didn't understand the process. I couldn't believe it. I got to say this salon is kinda pricey but I really don't mind paying a high amount if it got me what I want. Now when I first walked into the store the atmosphere was really good and the people were really nice. The hair wash was good but the massage was unnecessary but I didn't know how to say no to that so I just got it and ended up paying a little extra for that. The most exciting part is the hair cut because I've been looking to get a new look for a while now. So when she ask what kind of hair cut I'm looking for I ask would you recommend me a style since you're the professional here and I want something new. She ended up giving me a really boring shoulder length haircut with nothing special about it so I just kept it tied up most of the time. I was really hoping she would go into professional mode and say things like let's give you some bangs here or maybe even open a book and show me some haircuts for me to choose from. I really wanted to like this salon. I have actually given them two chances and both times have left me disappointed. The first time I paid $200 to get a cut and color and while the cut was fine, the color was not at all what I wanted. So then I waited awhile and decided to try here again. This time I wanted to go for a more ombré look and had a consultation and pictures and everything, it really did nothing. The stylist was nice enough, but my hair turned out horrid. In fact, it came out blue. Never did I want blue and when I got back my friend even noticed the blue. Now, one month later, my hair is fried enough for a stylist at a different salon to notice- that, and to talk about how embarrassing it is to walk around town with this faded and fried hair and it will cost me more to go back to my original color. :(((( wouldn't recommend here for color. read more

Amazing! I'm always weary of trying a new salon, but being new to Fort Collins (and Colorado) it was time I took the leap. I had Krista who is adorable and very friendly. She knows what she is doing with hair and made sure I was happy throughout the whole process. I moved here from another state and was looking for a new hair stylist. I was looking for a cut and color. My hair was a medium blue to a redish purple ombre which I loved and wanted to get it done again. My hair is naturally very dark and by this time I had a lot of root showing and the rest of my hair had faded a great deal. When I called and told the operator, she wasn't very professional. She told me what hair products I should tell the stylist to use. She explained the ranking system and the prices. I told her that was fine, and that I wanted to get someone with a higher number because I wanted it done well. So instead she said "so middle of the road?" and booked me with someone that was at a level three. THEN she called me back and said that person was actually leaving and actually said "My bad". She then booked me with a consultation with a level five. For my consultation I brought in pictures of how my hair when it was first done before and told the stylist that I wanted it done like that if she could do it. I also told her I wanted about four inches cut from my hair. She gave me a price and I told her that was fine if she could get the results that I wanted. She said she could. At my appointment I wasn't feeling well, but the whole experience wasn't a good one. When I first got there it didn't seem like she was prepared. She didn't know what the colors were and where they were going. I had to show her pictures again. She talked to me which is normal for a hair stylist, but I didn't appreciate some of her questions. She asked me if I was going to have any children which I thought was too personal. I didn't feel like explaining my personal life to her so I just said "I don't know". She thought that I said "no" and she seemed angry at that answer. She kept talking to me even though I told her I wasn't feeling well and didn't feel like talking. I was trying to be nice, but she didn't stop talking to me about my personal life. Whenever I talked about how I wanted my hair cut, she kept telling me how great the color would look with my hair longer. I felt like it was a battle to get her to cut my hair. I also wanted it tapered in the front and she didn't cut it as short as I wanted. When she dyed my hair I wasn't next to a mirror and didn't see what was happening. It wasn't until she started blow drying my hair she put me in front of a mirror and I saw it wasn't the colors that I wanted at all. The top part that was supposed to be more of a medium blue was dark and had a purplish tint. The bottom part was a very dark purple and not even close to how it was before. When I told her this she had me go to the lobby and look at it in the light. I told her that the color was different, a lot darker and therefor wasn't what I was expecting. She told me that it would lighten when it fades. When we walked back to the chair she told me that it was just that I wasn't used to it. This was not the responses I feel that I should have gotten. She then asked me what colors my last stylist used. I didn't know the answer. If she needed the colors I could have gotten them, but I showed her pictures before hand and she said that she could do it. She also complained about how long my hair took to blow dry. I paid (much more than what I was told) left her a tip (which I shouldn't have done) and I left. I kept hoping that I would some how fall in love with my hair....it wasn't the color or cut that I wanted, but maybe it would be okay. When I got home and looked at my hair I saw that there were patches on the top of my head that were green. It looked horrible. And when I saw friends and family those green patches were the first thing they noticed and mentioned (without me saying anything). I waited a while to try to calm down and spoke to my old hair stylists who told me that I should call the studio and let them know how I felt. I called and spoke to a lady telling her everything. She told me that they guaranteed their services and was happy to have another stylist of a higher level fix my hair. She got my information (name, number and schedule) and told me that they would call me up with a free appointment. I got a message a couple days later where I was given the name of a stylist to go to and how much it would cost. I was told it was going to cost me money. For a cut and hair color that I hated that wasn't done well (and a thing of shampoo and conditioner) I spent $318.00 (before the tip that I shouldn't have left). I was there for four hours and live an hour away. I am very unhappy about it all. read more

After posting a negative review following a very disappointing cut & highlight appointment, the salon's management contacted me and offered to fix my hair AND refund my money. They got me in right away to see an "Element 4" (very experienced) stylist. I am very impressed with Studio Be's customer service and feel that they did everything in their power to make it right and give me a positive experience at their salon. I am still not in love with my hair, but the new cut and color are a big improvement. Maybe I am just too picky, who knows? In any event, I feel that Studio Be does care about providing outstanding customer service and value and I can confidently say that they will do their best to make sure customers are satisfied with the services they provide. read more

This is the third time I've been to studio be. First time was just a cut and the last two were for color. Let me start by quickly reviewing my first color experience with studio be: I paid close to 150 for a couple highlights which weren't noticeable unless I parted my hair in a certain way. After awhile they turned an awkward orange-brown which I could look past because the color change happened within a good year after I got it done. Overall, I mainly felt cheated out of my money but decided to get over it because I ended up liking the highlights a little more than I thought. I decided to give studio be another chance with giving me the color and look I wanted because maybe my first experience was a simple miscommunication. I have dark brown-almost black hair and I wanted to change to a light brown. I consulted my stylist and we went through pictures and I pointed to one I specifically liked and with that, we got started. I'd like to point out that I enjoyed myself, and my stylist was super nice and polite which is always a positive thing. I was impressed by her dedication (the appointment took over three hours) and that does make me hesitant in writing this review because I don't want to point any fingers since I do believe my stylist has talent and is very good at what she does. However, three and a half hours and over 300 dollars later, I walked out with hair that looked similar to what I started with. It's maybe a little lighter but nothing like the picture I pointed out and still a dark brown, nonetheless. My stylist reassured me that after a few washes, the color would lift a little but even with a couple shades lighter, it still won't be like how I explained it or how the picture showed. I wouldn't mind going to studio be again because I think their staff is really great and always really nice, I just feel very cheated out of my money a second time. For close to 350 dollars I would expect that my hair would be noticeably lighter but so far, no one has really noticed, or I get the cynical, "you paid THAT much for THAT little of a change?" read more

I have been with Studio Be since the beginning. Beth (owner) used to cut my hair when I was in high school. Once she got a little busy I started seeing Lauren. She is awesome! I had been seeing her for the past 5 years! 4 of those I lived out of state and would wait to get my hair done when I would come back to Colorado on breaks. Ray also did my hair once when Lauren was all booked and he did a fantastic job. Studio Be takes pride in their work and the entire experience. Great place to feel pampered and they really do a wonderful job! I have found a similar Paul Mitchell focus salon in San Diego that I love, but if Studio Be wasn't 1100 miles away if still be a regular. OH, and the wash house is amazing! Trust me! read more

Right from meeting Chelsea during the initial consultation I knew she would be great. She was so knowledgeable, friendly and personable, and walked me through the whole process (e.g., how many treatments I would need to achieve my desired color, what products to use, etc.). She seemed to know exactly what I wanted without me being fully able to articulate it! I've been searching for so many years to find a hair stylist I'm happy with. I was in an endless cycle of grow my hair out because I want it long and then chop it off because I don't know what to do with it. I've been to several of the highly reviewed salons in Fort Collins and none have compared to Studio Be. I'm SO happy to have found Bri at Stuido Be! Finally, a stylist to teach me what I can do with my hair type and that I don't have to just cut it all off. Bri goes so far above and beyond any other hair stylist I've ever seen (and I've seen a lot of them!) She's educated me on which products would work well with my hair, taught me different ways to curl my hair, chatted about blogs I can find ideas on etc... She is also so easy to chat with about anything. She is the best! I'm also very happy with the salon. Everyone has always been incredibly friendly, professional and helpful with me. I really enjoyed my experience at Studio B at their South Location on Friday. I Haile did a fantastic job consulting with me about what I wanted to do and since I was going shorter, she was cautious and even let me ask for more length off - even though it meant having to go back and retexurize some areas. I LOVED the area where you get your hair washed and no detail is left out - can we say Hot Towel to the back of my neck!! Ahhh so relaxing. I appreciated that their front desk staff made me feel special and important. And they even called me to follow up and find out how things had gone. Today was my first visit to Studio B, I am new to Fort Collins so I was a little tentative. I have to say all staff were friendly. Amanda was my stylist and she did a great Job. Haylie Waxed my eyebrows and top lip. I am very satisfied with the service.My only complaint is it is a little pricey. I need a color, however, $ 100.00 seems very pricey to me. Hence the 4 stars! I absolutely love Studio Be! All of the stylists are so friendly there. I've been going for about a year and a half now. Amanda, my stylist, does an AMAZING job every time I see her! She really listens to what I want. Amanda works really hard to make all of her clients happy and she always does a fantastic job of making me feel comfortable with the cut and color! The salon itself is beautiful. As soon as you walk in the women make you feel so welcome there and they give you a 'menu' that allows you to explain what you're concerns are about your hair, any extra treatments you want, and a drink choice!
