That being said, nothing was like what I expceted. The coach, each one of them, along with every person I have met, and worked out alongside has been nothing but fantastic, nice, polite, warm, friendly, encouraging, and motivating. The atmosphere here is one of hard work, good time, healthy living, and functional fitness. My wife and I have random parts that ache or don't work right, and every coach is god about offering helpful modifications, and never criticizing or making me feel bad for not being able to do something. I love coming here and getting a great workout in, in a short period of time, as well as the joy I've found from seeing new friends and feeling like we're a part of a larger family. We've gone out drinking, BBQ'ing, etc. with some of the people we've met through ACF and I can't believe how much I like them and being a person who does CrossFit! I put it off for years, not really thinking any one person or modality could make that much of a difference for me. After a particularly bad week, I decided to give her a call. The stars aligned, and she just happened to have an opening that worked with my schedule. In the first few visits I didn't really notice much except that I felt like I couldn't do it quite right. My friend told me to stick with it for at least 4 sessions, so I decided to go that last time... That last session was where it all came together for me. She used these rocker boots that stretched my calves and lower back... and my body was finally also able to do the exercises. I realize now that it took those first 3 visits to get my body to release 50 years of "frozen in pain state" as Christine always says: "one small wiggle at a time..." and my body was finally able to trust the process. What is unique about Christine and Gyrotonics is that they do not believe that pain is needed for gain to be made. Not one time, the entire time I have been with Christine in 2 years, has she caused pain to give me some kind of gain later. I am so happy with the results she has given me. I have improved flexibility, and a lot less pain! I hate missing even a week with her. I've been to a lot of back "therapists". None have made as great of an improvement for my body as Christine has. I needed a lot of help with posture and walking due to an accident in my childhood. She was able to stretch me out and get me moving in a healthy way again. This is truly 21st century movement training as used by top ballet dancers and strength advocates. Every movement is about smoothness and small muscles rather than building large muscles. The studio is beautiful with circular equipment and pulleys to help the body move in circular patterns. If you are thinking about changing how you work out, or physical therapy for your back, I highly recommend seeing Christine first.

Lighting is also awful in some areas. Can't tell if shit is clean or not... Will never make this my regualr
