Their distribution channels are still rather meager, but Organon the health food store on Route 413, Wrightstown, PA, has a selection in their back room frozen foods department. I picked up the Vegetarian Vietnamese Pho and Roasted Butternut Squash to sample a couple of flavors I normally love. Each plastic package was 12 ounces, enough for one meal. Stovetop or microwave for a few minutes and recycle the sleeve container. I slurped the pho today after shoveling the heavy fresh wet white precip that fell from early this morning. While it lacked the rich spicy lemongrass base of long time pot simmered stock found in Pho 75 and other good VN restaurants, and the thick nest of noodles and fresh pinched Thai basil leaves, it was pretty good for what it was - healthy nearly instant soup with only wholesome ingredients. A squirt of Sriracha for an extra kick and it was bowl rim to lips; bottoms up! Who had time for a spoon? BowlFace! I'll be back here after trying the Butternut Squash, but wanted to review the Pho while it was still warming my stomach. Gotta say this is a bit of a homer epistle, as I am very happy that Newtown's entrepreneurial spirit is thriving even in the Age of Covid.

My favorite soups are the Thai Butternut and the Vietnamese Vegetable Pho. The Thai Butternut warms you up on a cold day with the ginger. The Pho is full of mushrooms and herbs. I wish they were available all year around. The good thing about the packaging is that it freezes well! So I recommend stocking up on your seasonal favorites. Besides soup, they offer dips and macaroni and cheese. And most recently they have added salad dressing. So far I have only tried the Pickle Sriracha Dip but I have the Buffalo Cauliflower Dip in my fridge. The Pickle Dip was amazing, I can't wait to grab some more next time I'm at Organnons. If you like pickles, you'll love the Dip! I'm looking forward to Summer and trying more soups! You can check their website to see where you can buy locally. When The Tubby Olive had left their space some time ago at the Reading Terminal Market (see my review!) I was quite disappointed as it was a very regular stop for me to get my fair share of olive oil and flavored balsamic dressings. But, their main shop in Newtown, PA is not too long of a drive to continue to make the trip to get my oils and balsamic. Also, Newtown has some other great shops and restaurants so it makes for a nice day trip. Tubby Olive has dozens of oils and balsamic in all kinds of awesome flavors stored in metal tubs that allow you to sample every single one if you so desired. They have two main sizes of bottles, but then they also have tiny bottles for some nice gift sets already put together. You can sign up for the frequent customer discount where after nine bottles your tenth is free. The store is quaint with old wooden floors and I've never had any bad customer service. I tend to rotate between the Traditional 18-Year Balsamic and the Fig Balsamic, and for oils they separate them between mild, medium, and robust. I tend to like the different mild oils and choose one on the spot after trying them. I'm more than happy to give Tubby Olive my business. You should, too. Very quality products. Prices have risen in recent times, but I still come back. Large bottles are about $40 and regular $20.

I also like how you can taste them before you buy. No matter what you like you will be able to find a vinegar that matches your pallette and dish that you are cooking. As far as Olive Oil, we prefer the robust blends but they have medium and mild as well. They are always mixing it up so they have a big variety. They also have infused olive oil. I like the blood orange to mix with the fruit infused balsamics for a salad dressing. You can shop in the store store if you like samples. They also ship and have the same selection on line. So if you cannot make it into the store, you can still order their great products. The bottom line is it is worth the drive to browse the store and sample the selections. This is the place to get all of your olive oil or balsamic vinegar.

I am able to get almost all my weekly groceries from Bolton's, with the exception of some staples like Greek yogurt. Everything I need to make my salads as hearty and colorful as I can I get from Bolton's. Lettuce (often local), peppers, mushrooms, pea shoots (local), radishes, pickled beets, craisins, walnuts, and even dressing! I also love their couscous salad (seasonal), broccoli salad, and pasta salad. All the salads are made fresh onsite with healthy and wholesome ingredients. They also carry pantry items like pasta, mustard, ketchup, jams, etc, all from health-focused companies that value quality ingredients with less additives and preservatives, such as Mrs. Miller's Noodles and Bob's Red Mill. The meats at Bolton's are also extremely high quality. The turkey varieties are all from the farm itself and you can get turkey: cutlets, grillers, burgers, hotdogs, kielbasa, ground, sliced etc. The sliced turkey is not the yucky, slimy stuff like you'd find in traditional grocery stores, but actual sliced turkey breast. They also sell Thanksgiving turkeys which I'd high recommend, and make sure to order way ahead of time because they're popular! The people working there are all so friendly and nice. I have been going for years and years and have never once had a bad experience with any of the employees! It's a family owned business and the family is among those who work there. On Fridays, they have Amish folks from Lancaster County come and sell baked goods outside the store. The baked goods, as one might expect, are nothing short of mouthwatering! They have breads, pies, cookies, whoopie pies, etc. Lastly, often prices tend to be quite steep for local, healthy, or high quality ingredients. This isn't the case with Bolton's. I actually compared the price of feta cheese at Bolton's to the grocery store, and Bolton's was CHEAPER. I can't say this is the case for all items, I believe the deli meat may run a bit more expensive, but honestly it's well worth it. Dairy, produce, and pantry items are all comparable to normal grocery store prices, and likely cheaper if you were to get wholesome/organic items at the grocery store. Bolton's makes being healthy easy, and grocery shopping simple. Always a pleasure stopping in there and highly recommend this business!
