    two bottles of olive oil
    Brian W.

First time customer. Was greeted right away, given an overview of the layout as to where the olive oils were and the balsamic options. Was shown how to sample, and had a delightful conversation while making my selection. My goal was to find great options to cook with white fishes and chicken breasts plus the occasional drizzle on cheese or salad greens. I did purchase 2 of the 60ml size bottles-- Basil Olive oil and Gravenstein Apple Balsamic, plus two smaller bottles of Mushroom and Sage olive oil and Cascadian Raspberry Balsamic--- each with a great flavor.

Two different balsamic and one olive oil.

So glad this store is open. I believe the owner runs this shop much better than the other owner who ran the Reading Terminal shop.

I admit that I am a late convert to the value of a shop that specializes in olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette.

Most of the stands are operated by the Amish, who travel back and forth to Lancaster, bringing you the freshest products from their farms and kitchens. This is the sweet spot inside this market place, with oh so many homemade chocolates, fudge, hard to find old fashioned candies, rows and rows of bagged sweet treats, they also sell Asher's chocolates and right now the store is well stocked with a great selection of Easter candies. This alone is enough excuse to get many in trouble, but add in rows and rows of homemade jams, apple or pear butters, fresh nuts galore, dried fruits and so many snack options. On top of all of this they have so many different pastas, some fresh and right out of an Amish kitchen in Lancaster. How can one not go crazy shopping with all of this temptation? Oh wait, I'm not finished! You name it, they have it when it comes to spices, herbs, cereals, baking goods, they have a large organic selection and yes, some even gluten free! They make their own nut butters, right in the store, with peanuts, cashews or almonds and they have a great variety of honey straight from Lancaster. I'm obviously a fan of this store, the homemade chocolates are divine, I love many of their products, so I do stock up when shopping here. Many free samples are scattered here and there, including those wonderful nut butters.

If you like everything excessively sweet, this is your heaven. If you prefer a more subtle approach to your candy cravings, you may feel overwhelmed and want to keep looking after tasting a few samples. Selection is great. Prices not too bad. But, overall, this is not my favorite place for my weakness - chocolate.

He said, " be quiet and look out back, there is the biggest vulture I have ever seen up in the tree to the right". I said " It wants my fresh poultry that I just bought!, as I quickly ran back to the front porch to grab my goods! ( this is no joke folks, this is a true story! ) I think it may have followed me home, just knowing I had such fresh meat and poultry ;+} Coincidence or not, Zook's fresh poultry makes you never want to look at a grocery stores highly processed birds again. All natural plump whole chickens, legs, thighs, breasts or wings and it's the same with the turkeys, which are sold fresh year 'round. They have capons, duck and goose by order, especially around the holidays. Want rabbit, they have it all year 'round and if you would like homemade stuffing and gravy, it's yours. Not only this, they have huge fresh whole chicken or turkey breasts stuffed or you can buy a half breast, stuffed to take home and roast, making your kitchen and home smell like you have been working for hours in the kitchen. They sell Cornish hens, farm fresh eggs, ground turkey and chicken, fresh chicken or turkey tenders, hearts, gizzards and livers, oh my! Various sizes of homemade chicken, turkey or beef pot pies to bake at home and chicken cordon bleu. I can't guarantee that you will have a vulture in your back yard when you arrive at home, but you really have no excuse to not purchase your poultry from Zooks! Gad Zook's, I'm loving it!

It no doubt sounds corny (after all, that is what they eat), but I can taste the difference. Sweeter, roastier, juicier. The Pot Pies are great, too. They bake up well. Delicious, with large chunks of chicken, potatoes, carrots & peas in a light gravy soupy base. A great quick dinner any night of the week. In the Newtown Farmers' Market, it is only open Thursday thru Saturday.

If heard of Shady Brooks light show and has never been myself - neither had my boyfriend - so it was the first time for all of us. We paid in advance online and there was luckily a discount so we only paid $25 per car instead of the original listed price of $45 per vehicle. It's was about a 40 minute drive for us coming from the city and we luckily didn't have any traffic on our way there or back. When turning into their site, they had signs to direct you to the lanes/area to drive through the light show. Once we got to that area, we drove up to the booth so they can scan our ticket, handed us a newspaper/booklet to go with it, and we were on our way! The light displays, concepts and sections (e.g. "12 Days of Christmas" with 12 displays of drummers drumming) were very well done. Our little one loveeeeedd it - except for the Grinch of course because, he's the Grinch lol. It wasn't a short drive through but not too long either. Once we finished the light show, we did park and got out to take a quick look at what else was going on and get a lay of the land. Would definitely recommend checking this out for the holidays and we would come back to check out the playground for her, wagon rides, etc.
