Thank God I found Western Reserve Pilates Studio! It's a beautiful space, very clean and well kept- calm and hip looking. I called and left a message inquiring as to how to get started as a new pupil and they got back to me within 30 minutes! The staff was very responsive and I set out to my first class with high hopes. The atmosphere was great. Whenever you try something alone for the first time, it's always an anxious experience- except for your first class here! I was welcomed by the instructor and the fellow students alike. I can't wait to go back and try one of the equipment classes! Both novices and experienced practioners should try this studio. We use hand weights , magic ring, ball, roller, chair, no props and do floor exercises for overall body toning and strengthening. Everyone is at a different level, everyone's body is different and she's excellent with coaching us to work by listening to our bodies. I was a gym member for 30* years. My body is in better shape with 2 years of Pilates then I ever achieved at the gym. Everyone was very welcoming at the front desk. I signed a waiver before class and got a pair of grip socks which the studio allowed me to borrow for free (I returned the socks back after class). BARRE CLASS -- The instructor Roni was awesome! She provided great cues/directions for all the different lifts and moves. I loved the addition of small weights, a ball, and a resistance band. I most likely won't be back for a barre class just because this type of workout isn't for me. I prefer high intensity training classes, sprints, and lifting weights. I've attended a few yoga classes and had a wonderful experience. I continuously meet inviting and engaging teachers that actually understand the type of yoga they're teaching. The class sizes are intentionally small and extremely low-pressure. That type of environment alone is enough to make me want to return. Its genuinely a relaxed, supportive atmosphere that meets you where you're at. As someone with physical limitations, I always feel comfortable here and never feel pressured to be something I'm not.
