Beautiful studio. It is well designed and clean. The bikes and other equipment are nice. Instructors: Erin and Courtney take the time to plan out their classes and are very good motivators. The owner (Julie) who teaches the most classes tends to run the same class day after day and "wings it" If you purchase a monthly "unlimited" pass you will find, its not "unlimited" They charge extra for some classes. When I purchased my membership, Spin/Yoga/boxing/strength classes were all included in the price of the membership. At some point this changed, but we were never informed. I was also charged extra for holiday classes, class cancellations also have to be done at least 12 hours before class. If not yup gotta pay more fees. The owner says "we had to separate spin membership from yoga/boxing/cut classes." And when did you send out this information to members?? We paid for UNLIMITED classes but one day yoga, boxing and strength classes became extra charges! No email, no communication, no explanation. we were Blind-sided! Once these issues came up, I decided I no longer wanted to be a member at Studio Spin. After communicating this to the owner, they then strictly enforced a "30 day notice" to terminate a membership that could not deliver the classes I was paying for and changed which classes I could attend for the membership plan I paid for without any communication or option to cancel which I should have been given considering they changed the rules. If you want to raise your heart levels and burn lots of calories, this is the place to be!!! It was my first time ever taking a spin class and wow, what an amazing experience. They walked me into the class and adjusted the bike to make sure I was comfortable. The instructor did a fantastic job motivating everyone to get them to keep going. I loved the different lights as you rode with a different intensity level. We then transitioned to the room for some floor work. What a great way to cool down from a 45m ride. This was my first SPIN class (FREE!) that I had ever taken, a little more than 3 years ago. I have not, nor will I, take a class anywhere else. It opened 6 years ago and has been voted Best On The North Shore by Make It Better magazine for 3 years. That should say it all, but really, get in there and get on a bike. I rode for a year before I bought SPIN shoes, to make sure I was going to make it part of my lifestyle. When I was ready, julie fitted me and everything changed. My rides are amazing. Dark. Small (28 bikes compared to big box 60 bike stadium seating which is not intimate & personal at all like this studio), coaches are amazing, classes are combined with Boxing & Yoga or just SPIN. I experience everything in the classes; emotionally & physically. I am stronger now than ever & the best part is the coaches notice and know exactly what I need, as well as all riders. She offers 30 minute, 45 minute, and 60 minute classes 7 days a week with multiple times and flexible hours. When I first started spin, I was unable to finish a 30 minute class. This was over a year ago. Now I am able to ride for over an hour. My endurance has improved tremendously and I am so proud of how far I have come. This would not have been possible without Julie there to motivate me and help me reach a higher potential. This is BY FAR the best spin studio in all of Chicago and worth every dollar!!
