Usually have a good experience here but haven't been in awhile! Tonight i came with my daughter we sat at a table and wasn't acknowledged for at least 30 minutes smh! Granted its a Saturday but still.. Finally a girl acknowledged us and it was ok! We went here for a Friday casual date night. There is parking behind the restaurant. It is dirt/gravel and there was a huge pit hole but it was fine. They were pretty busy but we were able to park. It was seat yourself so we picked a high top near the window. It took a moment for someone to get to us but our server was kind and helpful. We got the bulgogi cheesesteak egg rolls (6 pieces). They are always a big hit. It's a large appetizer so definitely shareable for a group. We then tried the Asian Zing wings and their ranch. Both are amazing. The wings were sauced really well and weren't too spicy but had plenty of flavor. The ranch was AMAZING. My boyfriend got the chicken bacon pineapple burrito bowl and had plenty of food. He said it was balanced "yummy". Finally, I got the sweet-n-salty jerk chicken taco and a pew pew shrimp taco. The jerk chicken had a bit more spice than I like to it and not enough of the pineapple to cut it. The pew pew taco was two large shrimp which I ended up eating with a fork because the taco was too full to get a bite of everything. Overall everything was really good. Whoever was on the chive station cut them too big and was a little heavy handed. Overall, great food & a good atmosphere (if you're ok with sports on the TV and an eclectic playlist)! STUFT was everything I wanted it be and more: local bar with amazing food and service! Came here for lunch with a friend on a recent visit to Hampton to enjoy the beach, and I am so glad we did. The staff who served us turned out to be the owners and they were perfect examples of local entrepreneurs: pleasant, committed, hard-working, and a great sense of how to make the customer experience one that they would want to receive themselves. On the same level of the service is the food: as soon as I saw the Chicken Chorizo Dorito Burrito I knew I had to have it. That name alone sells it, right? Come to find out, it is not only cleverly-named but also delicious and HUGE (see my photo here), and you get all that for a great price too. The only thing I would note is that this place is primarily a bar. This didn't bother me one bit but my friend tends to prefer places that are actual restaurants and so didn't love it as much as I did. In that regard, I would call this an awesome spot for friends who like the bar atmosphere. Either way, I loved it here and absolutely plan to return on a future Hampton trip! Writing this review isn't fun for me bc I wanted to love this place. I'd heard so many good things! So, after a long evening out with my husband, we decided to stop there for dinner for my birthday before taking the hour plus ride home. We decided to get take out bc I wanted to sit somewhere pretty (like by the water) while we ate. It was around 10pm on Feb 1 2025. We ordered online - he ordered a steak burrito & I ordered a vegan burrito bowl, nothing complicated - bc we didn't want to wait & took the 10-15 minute drive to Mallory St. First of all the parking lot is tricky. It's a dirt plot with no discernibly marked spaces - just a couple of orange cones kind of tossed around & a clearly broken down truck in the parking lot. Ok, NBD, I wasn't getting out (I'm disabled & can't walk - use crutches or a wheelchair. This day I had my crutches). So Hubs got out & went inside. There I sat, in that parking lot for nearly an hour. People pulled in, went in, picked up THEIR food, left. Very quick operation - for Them. This happened over and over. Finally, as I noticed I'd been waiting for what shouldn't have been a difficult order to be prepped & sent out with my husband for over 40 minutes, I dug my crutches out of the back seat (not an easy task), got out of the car & began wobbling through the parking lot (which had pot holes & other hazards for people who aren't able-bodied) around the building to the front door. Just as I was rounding the corner to the door, my husband finally came out. I asked him in pretty colorful language what took so long? Were they murdering the cow? Did they need to grow the rice/veggies? Was the place more crowded than the few cars in the lot indicated? Were aliens abducting the kitchen staff? The answer to all of this was of course no, there was no special reason or extenuating circumstance. A guy just kept coming out of the kitchen saying 'a few more minutes' as other orders were apparently pushed ahead of ours & we continued to wait. I told my husband that for the wait this had better be the best burrito bowl I'd ever had. Sadly, it was not. It WAS good, but for the price, the distance driven, the lack of service and the incredible and unapologetic wait time, it wasn't THAT good. I would eat there again if someone picked it up & brought it to me, but I will never again make a trip specifically to STUFT, only to be given awful service for just 'normal' tacos/burritos. Got our food, and after a couple bites and not getting our refills we opted for togo box. that took another 20 mins. dropped cash and left after asking and waiting for our check (we were sitting at the bar) and not getting it. Much of the menu is Mexican with an eclectic mix of embelished American combos. We were a party of three. I ordered the "Gutbuster" which is a hotdog combo with fries. Really good crispy fries and a hot dog in a bun with so many toppings it had to be eaten with a knife and fork. Another at our table had Quesiadilla and chose fries as the side and the third person had Nachos. Both were huge gutbusting size meals. The nachos had piles of colorful toppings. I normally come in and order 2 bulgogi egg rolls to go and I sit at the bar and I drink 1 beer ... my total was around $26-$28 both times I did this .... This time I ordered to go and was told that I was required to pay this "gratuity fee" I thought it was odd ... Oh Em Gee. If you haven't been and are thinking about it, GO! I saved this place and finally got to go on Saturday. I was driving down Mercury Blvd, and this beautiful bright building jumped out at me- luckily, it was Stuft! I was so excited. The food was so good. I got the nachos (with the protein of rice & beans) and one taco with soyrizo. Next time I go, I'll be getting the nachos with soyrizo OR three soyrizo tacos. Omg- they were so good! The tacos come with chips too. You have to order their sour cream- it's some sauce that's made with she cream, cilantro, lime, and garlic. On 4/2/25, I placed an order for 2 orders of cheesesteak egg rolls. Per Stuft's website the price was stated at $13.25. When i questioned why my order total was $35+ for six egg rolls. I was shown a sign on the wall for 20% gratuity on all to go orders. Once i showed the employee that still didnt account for the price. He then stated the cost of the egg rolls are $17.25. I kindly showed him the price as it reflected online. He then proceeded to say the in restaurant menu shows the adjusted correct price. As he picked up the menu to show me. He then said oh its the same $13.25 as the website indicated. However charged me the inflated price anyway. As much as I loved Stuft's Bugolgee cheesteak eggrolls. Moving forward I will purchase my eggrolls from Kickback Jacks. I have no problem with the increase in price. My 2-star review is because of the automatic 20% service charge added for take out. Maybe 10% is acceptable, but 20% isn't right. Not sure if that's the owner's idea or staff's. Honestly, I was going to tip 20%, but having it automatically added is a big put-off. If you look at the picture, you'll see the sauce I got was quite small. A good service experience, one deserving of 20%, would have let me know I might want to ask for more sauce. The added cost of the sauce wouldn't matter to me - and 20% tipping service would have let me know about that consideration. I support tipping for good service, but it's the voluntary nature of it that makes it work. The practice offers a chance to develop a relationship. Now I'm just left disappointed with the experience. Quite possibly the best burrito I've had in my life. The fries were good a crispy too absolutely delicious. I also got a side of guacamole and 10/10. My only complaint is that the burrito was so massive I had to strategize each bite I took, not a terrible problem to have. Their hot sauce was so yum. Tuesday is a great vibe here.. live music and and a vibrant crowd. The drinks are clearly flowing. The bartenders provide quick service and my order was out surprisingly fast. It's a BAR, and that needs to be updated in the description.
