We tried 5 different types, and oddly I preferred the cows milk cheese despite her specialty being goats milk. I also wasn't enthused about having the tasting on an unstable picnic table surrounded by an endless number of flies we struggled to fight off, and the cheese was steadily melting. Not what I pictured for a cheese tasting. With some additional resources this place could be spectacular.

I need to know where they are at all times. She claimed, after the fact, that I should have been driving a fair distance every other day to check on them. This was not part of our original deal. Besides, Patty OWNS A GOAT FARM AND SHOULD KNOW HOW TO TAKE CARE OF GOATS! Patty advertises herself as a goat farmer, but she doesn't even have any of her own goats! This woman and her farm are a run-down fake. Patty is quite elderly and suffers from severe memory loss. She is not even able to walk into her pastures due to physical issues. Don't go there. You will be disappointed in the lack of authenticity. This goat farm is a definite has-been and suffers from deferred maintenance, an owner who can't remember anything, and junk strewn everywhere.

Their story is really inspiring and you can see how passionate they are about their company, product, and water buffaloes. The owner, Audrey, has a hand in every part of the business, and does most of the work, with help from a handful of employees. This was such an incredible and memorable experience! We saw 17 wild cats on our tour, which included cheetahs, clouded leopard, black leopard, sand cat, bobcat, and so much more! I loved that they had a good mix of large and small wild cats. The tours are by reservation only and you can reach out to schedule a tour. They keep group sizes to no more than 8 people as to not overwhelm the wild cats. The tour was extremely informative and you will learn a lot about these incredible animals. Their facility is super clean and they love and care deeply about these wild cats. The tours are meant to educate the public about the decreasing population of wild cats around the world and provide funding for worldwide wild cat conservation projects. Ends up the property I rented offered a wine passport and we were to receive a discount. I called to confirm and they let me know the driver would apply the discount when we paid him the day of the tour. All sounded wonderful and was very clearly communicated. The tour in 2026 only went to 3 wineries. Two were just ok and one was not good. I don't think anyone on our tour purchased anything here. The time at each winery was like a typical tasting with some information on their winery. But no real information on Sonoma and Napa and the history of the area. At the end our driver had no clue on our discount and kept telling me he would get in trouble for charging me less. He insinuated I was making it all up. In the end he did honor the discount but seemed he did it as a favor not that it was a program that Platypus participates in. All in all I was disappointed in this wine tour and would no go on a platypus tour again and would not recommend them. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day. They even offered to let me use their own AAA membership to help with the situation. Not once did either of them seem frustrated or inconvenienced, despite having to stay well past closing.
