Told her I wanted a trim. She asked if I wanted it straight all around the bottom. I said yes. I also asked if she would also do my layers. She said yes after she trimmed the ends. I paid and left. When I got home I noticed she didn't cut any of the layers throughout my hair. I messaged her and made an appointment to go back that same day. She did some layers on my right side and I asked if she could do layers on my left side too and she said I didn't ask for layers on my left side and only did a few layers on the left. Why would anyone only want layers on one side??? There was definitley a language barrier. I didn't want to deal with her anymore and I left. Now I have to deal with uneven hair! I can't find a good stylist! Don't recommend this salon! read more

I was initially impressed by her quick response to accommodating a late haircut at 6:30p as I work long hours. Unfortunately, that was the only positive interaction I had with Rose. I was met with a very directive and curt attitude when I arrived--almost as if it was a chore for her to see me. Off the bat, I noticed her tone and facial expressions were those of a judgmental Tita (IYKYK). I was extremely uncomfortable--she even answered the phone during my haircut with such anger, it seemed to leave her caller speechless (familiar contact or not, the energy surrounding this woman is negative). I did not provide a picture of my vision which was a huge mistake, I described what I was hoping for--and she asked minimal questions-- I honestly felt nervous and didn't think there would be time for me to pull a picture up. She had little expression and a disgruntled tone throughout, but I hoped those reviews in which she seemed to grasp what modern styles could be flattering to maintain a youthful look would uphold. I HAD long mid-back length hair, I explicitly asked for 3 inches off to only address the dead ends...past stylists seemed to intuitively know that no one wants to look out-dated or older than when they came in...also my fault for assuming that's what all stylists aim for. Some additional red flags I have realized in hindsight--previous stylists asked many questions, kept abreast of current styles and seemed to have to courtesy to ensure a client was certain before making any drastic changes. They never went carte blanche on my hair without checking every step of the way. I never really had to explain much to them--and this is the first time I left a haircut feeling assaulted. I explained I would like longer layers to frame my face, which in the end--apparently was interpreted as a medium bob, which I in NO WAY asked for. This review will come to no surprise as I expressed my shock and dissatisfaction as she began cutting swaths of length off of my hair--something I had in no way expressed I wanted, to which she told me, "trust the process" when I spoke up--BE WARNED: she is quite adept at gaslighting, instead of attempting to salvage she told me that I had ASKED for this, it was the way I was perceiving my hair as she had cut the remaining color (I grew out my balayage), it was MY FAULT for not describing what I wanted, saying and "face framing layers" meant essentially a bob looking, 90's unflattering Rachel cut and that's what ALL STYLISTS would do. She is completely wrong, will defend her wrong choices and tell you that you caused it. If you know any narcissists--be very aware, My wash, haircut and blow dry took less than 30 minutes--and was $70. I gave a 15% tip because a service was still rendered and as a sign of my unhappiness. I could've gone to Supercuts type of establishment and likely would've had a better experience. Rose: DO BETTER, ask questions, use caution and not awaken generational trauma within your clients. Your energy and attitude was extremely negative. read more

Had an awesome experience with Rose! I got an appointment the same day that I contacted her and she worked very hard to achieve what I wanted (the colour was inspired by a 2D man so I expected it to be a challenge but she really delivered!!). Also, it was my first time getting bangs and I was really nervous about it especially because I have a rounder face shape and I've been told by the internet all my life to not get bangs. However, Rose cut the perfect bangs and I felt really really cute afterwards!! Brought my mom here to get a haircut for my sister's upcoming wedding. My mom usually just cuts her hair at home and uses box dye for grays. We came in not quite knowing what the best option for her was, but Rose was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. She helped us find the best option for my mom in terms of keeping the hair healthy but still looking great. They were able to accommodate my food restrictions. I have difficulty walking and they gave me a table where I didn't have to walk far.

So I went in around 7pm for a balayage and I told her I used to have one and haven't gotten it touched up for about 2 years. I showed her a picture of what I had and a few pictures online of the goal. She made the comment "that's not a lot" which was confusing in the moment. I the told her I love my natural color and want to keep it which is why I like balayages so much. She then proceeds to start coloring my hair and while doing so makes and answers multiple phone calls even making me answer one of them because she had stuff on her fingers. She also kept commenting on how when I booked an appointment I didn't book this and it's going to take a while but it's fine because I have time. When I booked it gave me an estimate time for the appointment which was 3 hours......more than enough time as every other time it's only taken 2hr. On one of the phone calls she made during the appointment she the proceed to shit talk me in spanish to her husband as I'm sitting right there. She also leaves twice during the appointment to go get food. After all of that she gave me not even close to what I asked for and now I have highlights going all the way to my roots and I look damn near blonde. NOTE: FYI her salon is in the Aegis Senior Living Building! Rose sends instructions before your appointment. There isn't much parking at the actual property so you'll likely have to do street parking or park in the residential area across the street. Rose got back to my Yelp message right away with a quote for a wash & trim. We booked a few days out over text. When I got to the senior center, the front desk directed me to her studio, which was on the second floor down the hall. Rose was so considerate of my preferences and made sure to cut the exact amount I wanted. After a quick wash, we only took around 20 mins to trim. My hair felt so much lighter afterwards but still remained long :) Even without styling, it frames my face so well. I honestly only trust Asian hairdressers to cut Asian hair correctly. And at $65 (before tip), she gave me a better cut than my $200+ haircuts. Thank you so much! read more

I loved my wedding hair She spent just over an hour perfecting my hairstyle. I showed her these 2 inspo pics and she killed it. She was very attentive to all the details including symmetry, perfect curls and ensuring the hair would stay. The photos I posted were 7hrs after she styled it and with multiple attempts of inserting and taking out my veil. So I'm someone who watches a video online and thinks I can do the same thing. I managed to fry my hair and ended up with 4-5 different colors in my hair and needed it to be fixed urgently. I found Roses page and saw that she had good reviews so I decided to reach out. She responded within 1-2 hours and was able to fit me in same day. I got to Roses and she was such a delight to see. She is soooo friendly and such a girls girl! I showed her my inspo pics, she evaluated my hair and was honest with me about the status of my hair and how long it would be. Throughout our appointment she was always asking questions about my history of my hair, giving me tips and advice on how to better manage my hair and overall just keeping conversation. At the end after our last wash and she was able to blow dry my hair even rose was impressed with her work. My hair looked great just after having being blown dried but once she styled it, it was amazing! A million stars for Rose!!! Talk about a VIP experience at a great price! First I was her only client in the salon and her salon chairs were the most comfortable chairs I've ever sat in. She had some chill music playing in the background and it was super relaxing. I hadn't cut my hair in over 2 years and didn't even know what hairstyle I really wanted. What a dream! Rose got me in within a few days, understood what I wanted and did a great job for a reasonable price. Recommend!

I never write bad reviews but I genuinely did not like my experience. She said it was $110 and up, which I overheard over the phone she was giving that estimate for color and for balayage but for a basic all over color was $180. I wouldn't mind paying that if it was a luxury salon and they really took care of me and my needs but I didn't receive that at all. When I asked for the color and showed her pictures she just gave me a color book and went on her phone impatiently waiting. I don't know anything about color and coloring hair that's why I go to an expert. If I wanted that experience I would go to sally Hanson and pick any color old color from the box and the colors she used were from sally Hanson. The exact ones you can get there. I wanted a dark brown neutral and she was saying these are all neutral dark browns so I randomly picked a color that was listed as a dark brown. The color came out black. Completely black. Nothing than what I wanted. She mistreated my hair the whole process. She was combing out my hair after the dye was on so she was tugging at my head very strongly that I could see how much hair was pulled, when she was drying my hair she was wiping my head all over and literally rubbing my hair in between the towels which is very bad for the hair. I've been too plenty of good salons so I know that is not something that a good hairstylist would do that actually care for my hair. She didn't show any type of care for my hair the whole process. When she said $110 and up she meant $110 to just walk into her salon, and per bowl sky rockets the costs even though it's not a full bowl made. So she said she did 3 bowls which exactly was 3 bowls that were not correctly measured because she has to do a corrected because my hair was still red. Which skilled professional would know we needed to cancel out the color in the first place. And after all that, I asked her I said my hair was not the color I wanted because it was pitch black and she said to wait for a month and when I asked if she can lighten it she said she'd have to bleach it. 1st she wanted me to pay her again for what was done by waiting a month and didn't even want to fix it when a professional would help a client in this situation that they did and 2nd bleaching it is crazy and uncorrect. I talked to my hair stylist back home and she said to use clarifying shampoo. Which she's an angel for helping me out when I didn't even see her! And the worst part is after going to her I was having huge hair balls more than I usually have. I never have hair loss but since going to her I've seen it on the floor and in the tub an excessive amount that is not normal for me. I would not come back again and would not recommend her to anyone that I want to have beautiful hair or a peace of mind. read more
