After trying MANY MANY salons, from Marietta to Downtown to.... Tucker!!... I finally found Donna Leverette. (The other stylists seem great too!) Donna was able to: 1. Style the wig that I had for the time I had left to use it 2. Turn my newly-growing hair into something that I could be seen with (without the wig) 3. Ultimately, when my hair grew in, "make the most of it." She manages to make my thin hair look fuller. Which helps me be able to wear it long(ish). Which makes me feel feminine again. Donna is a miracle worker! Highlights are not something I'd ever had before, but the ones she gives me not only makes my hair fuller, the color of the highlights/lowlights really frames my face and makes me look younger. I wouldn't have considered "hair color" but it makes a world of difference. To further plug her talent - when I arrived early last week, I saw her last week cut the hair of a 3- or 4-year old who could NOT sit still. It was amazing. Despite his antics (and a little crying when he saw his hair fall onto the grown), she QUICKLY and professionally got that kid's hair looking great. I don't know how much she charges for kids, but I hope she gets hazard pay. Speaking of prices, I have paid much, much much more - at salons in Buckhead and Brookhaven and the West Side. But no one was able to make "the most of" what I have. Additonally, I am so taken aback at how kind and caring everyone there was - did not make me feel like a freak and nonchalantly brought up ways to enhance myself in other ways. There should be a big pink ribbon outside this salon, in recognition of how awesomely they serve someone recovering (!!!) from life's hardest ordeals. There are young stylists - with trendy cuts and colors - as well as those who do more flattering-looking hair for professional women. They do men as well, and as I've said, children. But I would unequivocably recommend (Donna) for people with illness, hair loss, or even working on your wig (those things are EXPENSIVE!!!) This Salon uses the best products based on what your hair needs and all the stylist are focused on healthy hair not only a nice style. I go to Samonica she is always honest about my hairs needs and offers suggestions on what i can do at home to keep my hair healthy. All the stylist do a great job whether you have Natural hair or a relaxer. The music is good, if you are a talker they are all great listeners. Most importantly I'm in and out. I don't need to be entertained when I'm getting my hair done so the raunchy dancing and rude comments between staff members was a bit much for me. Of course you don't expect a salon to be silent but it could be a more tasteful atmosphere. Despite the drama, the folks in there did have their clients looking good when they left so I won't say they aren't skilled; because they are. I'm just not a fan of drama thus I've taken a couple of stars off.
