I'm super late in doing this but I had my reasons! I want to show how good my hair looks THREE MONTHS after Stephanie did it. I have before and after photos as well as what it looks like currently. I found Stephanie through Pulp Riot's site. My appointment was on July 17 (today is October 18). I told her what I wanted and what my budget was and she made it happen. Everyone else was wanting to charge me double or triple what her price was. It's expensive being a mermaid! She went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my hair. The photos she took of me afterward were so pretty that I still use one of them as a FB profile pic to this day! I don't know what it's called but she left a tiny bit of my natural hair color at the top and faded the teal into blue into my actual hair color. She told me this would really help when it starts to grow out. HOLY CRAP she was right. This would normally be the time I go throw down a few bills and get my hur did but it looks good the way it is! I will also forever be thankful for her for telling me about celebrity shampoo omg omg omg omg omg. Total game changer for anyone with crazy hair. I didn't believe her at first but decided to give it a go. I can now take hot showers. I hadn't taken a hot shower in two years. No joke. Cold cold cold water always. I was given a Brazilian Blowout by one of the stylists, Donna. Not only was the BB not well done, but she did not offer me the glasses that are given so the chemical is not blown into the face. I ended up having vision problems and had to flush my eyes many times. I am writing this review to warn others and to prevent others the same negative experience I had. I cannot recommend this salon in good conscience. The eyes must be protected which Donna failed to do. read more

I have been using this salon for 4 years, getting cuts and coloring done. I'm constantly impressed by ALL the hair stylists. They have people from teens needing cuts to elderly women needing a weekly wash/set/comb out. I have seen hair colored red, grey, brunette, blonde leave the salon all stylishly perfect, time after time. I have watched with fascinaton the up-do's that they can do. I'm town visiting from out of state and went to Amanda at style works per recommended by my sister. I absolutely loved her. I've gone through chemo long ago leaving me less excited about my hair these days. Amanda was amazing in showing me ways to style my hair and what cut would be flattering. After waiting out COVID my hair had grown quite a bit and was in desperate need of a new style. I went on Nextdoor to get recommendations for a stylists since I was new to the area. Two reviews came back for StyleWorks. I went with a picture of what I was hoping to achieve. A common style but new for me. First I asked for a dry cut and she wet my hair. Ok, I can look pass that. She dropped the comb on the floor and it was picked up and put on her work station. REALLY! Let's get to the end, HORRIFIC CUT ! She cut my hair to look like Darlas from "our Gang ". Straight around the bottom, yikes, I wanted it tapered. The one side is a good 1/2 inch longer than the other side. When I take a section from the center of the top of my head, the length varies up to 1 1/2 inches. After 2weeks of contemplating this cut, I have decided this is the worst hair cut I have ever had in my life and I am a Stylist. read more

Well I came to this salon to support a local business. I asked for curtain bangs and layers. Bayli was my stylist. She did not give me curtain bangs and my hair was longer on one side than the other. My layers are very uneven. I paid and left. I am livid. I originally didn't want to write a review however after I reached out to the salon to see if someone else could salvage this terrible haircut. I received a call today from Bayli explaining to me what she did was her version of curtain bangs. They are blunt bangs. The kind of bangs you give your kids. She was very rude to me after I explained to her that what she did was not curtain bangs. She told me in her experience that those are her curtain bangs. Her solution was to give me a free blow out or a conditioning treatment. Neither one of those solutions fixes my hair. The unprofessional behavior is what is really bothering me. Anyone else should have reached out to me. Not the stylist that botched my hair. She just was very defensive and rude. I'm just in shock about the whole situation. read more

Blonde Lady that works in there was rude as can be when i showed up 13 minutes late for an appointment because I was unaware of where the place was. After wondering around trying to find the place, the sweet counter lady conveyed that it's be a little as she was shampooing someones hair at the moment. No problem! 5 minutes had gone by and the hair stylist starts screaming across the room that she does not have time for me and is NOT doing my hair today while there were other customers in the building. Never have I experienced such rudeness as a first time client. Be careful going here! If they don't have time for you, they'll let everyone know it. Will not be back again. read more

I have been going to this salon since they have opened. All of the stylists there are fantastic and you really can't go wrong. I have had my hair colored purple, pink, red, and teal at some point and also have had traditional color and cuts done at Styleworks. Whatever you are looking to do to your hair, there is a stylist that can accommodate you. In addition to cutting and coloring, they also are excellent with up-do's and special occasions. I was in a few wedding parties that had all the bridesmaids' hair done by the staff at Styleworks and our hair came out beautiful. They also offer complimentary coffee, water or wine. I no longer live in the area, but refuse to find a new hair salon. Whenever I am in town I always make a trip to the salon. Trust me, you won't be disappointed! read more

Just had an amazing experience at this place! I am always nervous trying a new stylist with my unruly, curly hair, but I instantly felt at ease when I started talking to Brittany and seeing how knowledgeable she was. She did an unbelievable baylage on my dark hair that wasn't brassy at all. All the stylists were warm and helpful and I felt comfortable the whole time. My hair hasn't looked this good in years! Be extremely specific when you come here. I agreed to a couple of inches - and she showed me approx 2.5" on the comb - and I lost approximately 5" of hair. I literally just wanted my ends trimmed and my layers tightened up. I did NOT anticipate losing this much hair which will take months to grow back. I'm sure she knew I was unhappy because her first words were "I know it's short but look how healthy it feels" yeah my hair feels great but there is no way in hell I had almost 6" worth of damage. My hair was also layered, and while the layers are even, there was no texturizing done. Even great clips won't just cut your hair in a straight line and send you out the door. At least if you think you're going to have to take several inches off, ask before you do it. I'm heartbroken. I left and paid without a peep (I'm too nice) but fair warning, if you have long hair, don't go here. Also, the stylist was extremely rough on my hair. I fair warned her that my hair tangles, and even after paying for a clarifying treatment she was still ripping on my head. They also don't do the little head massage thing that every salon even great clips does. I'm just amazed. I wish I never would have come here. On the bright side, the clarifying treatment did make a huge difference for what's left of my hair. read more

Went into the salon to make an appointment. There was one man waiting and one person getting their hair cut; they were not busy. I told the person at the desk I would like to make an appointment. The phone rang and she answered it. Another person came over and she started helping her with the phone call. Then another came over to help with the call. I'm standing there like a sack of potatoes, being ignored. More than 8 minutes passed while 3 people are helping someone on the phone and I didn't get helped making an appointment. I walked out and won't be back. It's rude to ignore the person standing in front of you who came to your business to make an appointment. Answer the call, by all means, but put it on hold and take care of the person in front of you. When 3 people don't help a person who comes into the salon, it's a management issue and horrible customer service. read more

First ever visit, made appt for a wash and cut and was seated by a young lady named Kayla. She then moved me to another chair that apparently wasn't hers for whatever reason. She Never made eye contact or looked up. When she got started I asked if she was going to shampoo and she said no but when I insisted she said she would AFTER the haircut to "get the lose hairs out". I haven't ever been told that before a cut nor has anyone Ive asked since. She did a good job with the cut but again never any eye contact. I think she might have missed her lunch break because it was noon on a weekday, I was a walk-in and place cleared after we were done. I caution anyone who wants a non-traditional style to avoid this salon like the plague. The first haircut I was received was so bad that I had to return in two weeks to have it re-cut. She still didn't understand what I wanted, so the owner had to come over to help. It was suggested that I see one of the stylists who was good with razor cuts. Umm... Not so much. She made a mess of my hair. It was cut straight across on the top--and far too short--and the sides and back were left long. It looked bizarre. I just moved to Florida from Maryland and I was very nervous about letting someone cut my hair in a state I am not familiar with. I read a lot of great reviews of Styleworks in Deland and made an appointment asking for someone good with curls. I walked in and was greeted and offered a drink while I waited for my stylist. Morgan came out immediately and introduced herself and gave me a wonderful consult and all of my worries just melted away. She asked all the right questions and told me all about my hair type and how to style it for the Floridian high humidity climate. She was very professional and upbeat and really listened to me. She did not push the salon products but since I am new to a high humidity climate I asked about which ones would help the most with my frizzy, fine and curly hair. She explained which products would work best but also explained what qualities I should look for in a product so I did not have to get the ones in the salon if I did not want to.
