After dinner at The Tropicale my wife and I wanted something sweet and we stumbled onto Lolly and…read morePots while walking along the main street in Palm Springs. The place immediately caught our eye. The front window shows a giant teddy bear and the inside is bright, modern, and so well organized that we just had to walk in. Right when you enter there is an entire wall of cotton candy which is my personal favorite. Beyond that there are rows of pastries and macarons, imported sodas and specialty drinks, plus big sections of taffy, jellies, and candies from all over the world. It honestly felt like a candy wonderland. We filled a bag with a mix of everything to celebrate our anniversary weekend and enjoyed it over the next couple of days. Every piece we tried was fresh and delicious. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the store was spotless and beautifully designed. Whoever put the space together clearly cared about every detail because it draws you in the moment you see it. If you have a sweet tooth or just want a fun treat while visiting Palm Springs this is a perfect stop. We left completely happy and will definitely come back next time we are in town.

Unfortunately I think this place relies on its location and not on products or service. There is so…read moremuch potential here, but what you have is an aging store that is more "needs attention" than intentional nostalgia. The candy is old and definitely not fresh, the date shakes were meh at best (tragic, considering where it's located) and a cashier that seems as happy to be here are the stale candy and outdated decor. Definitely a "will not return" and that's a shame.

We had…read morejust finished a cocktail combing expedition on E Arenas Road and decided something thick, sweet, and suckable was needed in a non-alcoholic setting. Now we could've gone to Great Shakes (review: https://yelp.to/mzOC66QAth), but there was a line and we just had no patience. So we walked over to this place because only a handful of people were in here. It wasn't a shake shack but a sweets shop, an old-fashioned, family-run operation. There was just one woman behind the counter, and she was busily handling orders for chocolates and candied apples. We waited our turn and ordered a couple of the $7.99 Date Shakes (Photo 9). They were fine, even without the mini-donuts Great Shakes serves with theirs. I need to give her credit for making it from scratch without any help from the rest of the family. FOOD - 3 stars...good date shake, no frills AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...look at all those sweets! SERVICE - 4 stars...she works hard for the money TOTAL - 3 stars...a sweet tooth goes far here RELATED - Exploring Palm Springs? *And the Oscar Goes To?*…read more What better way than today to surprise my Leading Lady with some Oscars? My wife sampled all the Olive Oils and Balsamic Vinegars in the store and narrowed it down to one of each. As for her Leading Man? I chose the ARTiChoke HeARTs of Palm Tapenade. As for my Supporting Cast? Mom will be ecstatic when she receives her Highland Butterscotch Sauce Oscar Award. Dad will LOVE the Hot Chocolate Fudge Sauce Oscar he'll be awarded. Best Director Nominee, Micheal, who manages the store, managed to captivate my wife for nearly an hour with samples, lessons and the history of all the products. {{{big round of applause}}} Thankfully, Best Supporting Actress Nominee, Hailey, was there today too, to assist all the other customers while Micheal gave his undivided attention to my Leading Lady & Wife. {{{big round of applause}}} Can't say enough about this place...and can't wait to indulge in all the spectacular one of a kind items purchased today. The customer service is top notch, and as a bonus, the prices are quite reasonable for gourmet food items. The store is nicely appointed and decorated.

Really blown away by this little, local business. (Well maybe not so 'little'...a friend of mine…read moretold me some of their items are carried at some Ralph's in the area?) That same friend is getting married in Palm Springs next month and pulled together a cute location-inspired care package to go with her invitation to guests. It's a virtual wedding, so she wanted to bring the experience of being in Palm Springs for all. Included a bag of this toffee caramel corn and let me just tell you...(and a few other recipients agree)...this stuff is ADDICTIVE. The absolute, most delectable caramel corn I have had in my life. Jam-packaged with decadent flavor, and quality corn, each cluster is HEAVEN and unlike anything I have tasted. I immediately got online (palmspringscandy.com) and ordered a sampling of bags. To my surprise, these treats are surprisingly affordable. For a mere $4-$6, you can snag a 7 oz bag in a variety of flavors. Or, go a full jar if your heart desires. Conversely, they also offer 3 oz bags in some flavors. (Note: shipping is around $9 but totally worth it if you're buying multiples, and is offset by the low cost of each bag). I snagged Toffee Caramel, Toffee Caramel with Cashews/Almonds, Honey Macadamia, and Praline Pecan. Drool. I was stunned when my order arrived just days later, perfectly packed including tissue and bubble wrap. Inside the package, a thank you message jotted down on the invoice, handwritten by Staci. A simple gesture, but one I always feel especially meaningful, as I typically only see personal touches like this with Etsy orders/smaller business. So, excellent customer service indeed. Very impressed and so happy to have discovered this gem. Thank you to Staci and team! You have converted a new, now long-term customer. 5 stars right at you.
