I am really mad, upset with myself, and no longer consider myself a Floridian. WHY? I had lived in FL from 1956, in the Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood area from 1975 to 2015, worked about 2 miles east of Sub Center for a few years, and just went in for a sub last week when visiting my mom (now live in Southern California for the past 3 years). As a Floridian, I should have had a sub at sub center years ago and not missed how a really good sub is made. Sub Center is excellent!. I stopped by for a late lunch (around 1:30) and they were a little busy. Waited for someone to call out "Next" when it was my turn and ordered a steak sub, 6 inch size (should have ordered the 12 inch). Well made on a lovely roll, flavorful and it did not take me to long to finish this sub, as each bite was one that I will remember for a long time. Sat outside at the tables (it was one of those perfect December Florida days) and enjoyed my lunch very much. Will for sure stop by on my next trip to Florida and have another excellent sub. read more

It's pretty simple. Small, hole in a wall sub shop that delivers huge, cheap, incredible tasting subs! There's something about the bread they use here that is so fresh, and they load your sub with fresh veggies, and even caramelized onions or mushrooms if you please. The tuna sub is a must!! I'm a sub junkie. I've been to all the best rated sub shops here in SoFla, Laspadas included. Sub Center is the BEST out of the bunch, No doubt. The one biggest difference is the bread. Oh my goodness! The softest most fresh tasting bread you will ever bite into. Believe it. I am a tuna lover. Best damn subs you can ever have!! I'm not really big on subs but that changed until I went to this spot!!! First off they have cream soda which is always a plus on this side. And they have many options! Try the bacon and cheese with their chipotle sauce!! It's so good. The subs is a great price for what they offer to their guests. So many choices of meats, cheeses, sauces and veggies. You have to be crazy to not like it here. Patio is a great spot to eat your sandwich, kick back and relax. Their service is amazing too! Don't be fooled by the look of this place; this is hands down the best sub/sandwich place I have found in Miami so far. I travel the 3 counties for my job and I have yet to find another sandwich place like this... anywhere. I feel truly lucky I have moved less than 1 mile away from this place. Their ingredients are always fresh and tasty, they have a large variety of subs, their hot subs are to die for, particularly the grilled chicken. Their tuna sub is the best tuna sub I've ever had.... anywhere - tuna tastes exactly how my mom makes it. Make sure you get the sweet peepers and the pickles in your sandwich - to die for. Needless to say, I could eat here every day, which I actually did when I first moved into the house and the previous owner left with the refrigerator :-). The staff is very nice, very fast and they make you huge subs - one foot long will last you a whole day. Do not believe the hype! I'm sorry but I just do not think it deserves all the hype at all. I would give the following stars in each category: Service: 5 stars! So fast even though they were busy, and the staff was quite attentive and friendly Restaurant itself: 2-3 stars. Just ok. It is pretty small and has NO inside tables. It would be nice especially in the hot summers. Food: 3-4 stars. I had the tuna sub. It is pretty good however not the best I've had. I would add something else mixed in like celery or something to give it more flavor not just mayonnaise and tuna. Also the quantity was a bit lacking, especially for the price. Some of the veggies looked fresh and some like the peppers were canned. Price: 2 stars EXPENSIVE for what it is. I'm sorry but almost $12 is way too much for a tuna sub, chips, and drink. Publix has good cold subs and I could get the same combo there for about $8. La Spottas it an awesome choice and less money as well. Would I go back? maybe for their steak sub because I love a good steak sub and I have read a lot of good things about them. I love this place for subs. It's right around the corner from my house. The customer service is great and it's always a pleasure to go there. I love my Phillips cheese steak with added chicken. Came here for a philly sub. They were still hot sandwiches 9:36. and refused to make me a sandwich because they stop the grill at "9:30". They never answer the phone. I've eaten at this location since McArthur had off campus lunch (2000-2004) we would walk her and not even care we were late getting back to school, though tonight I must say my heart was broken I walked into the location with my husband and daughter his heart was set in a pastrami sandwich he's had here before and loved and my daughter was going to be basic order of ham sandwich with mayo.........but being pregnant I had my heart set on a simple philly with provolone....... but they were very abrupt to say they are no longer making hot subs we barely got in the door and they made the experience was semi uncomfortable so we just walked out and ended up at subway it was a sad experience honestly. As soon as my wife and I walked through the door, the man behind the counter told the person in front of us who was ordering their meal that they could only get one of the sandwiches they were ordering on white bread. They would have to get the other sandwich that they wanted on wheat bread because the restaurant was out of white bread. Now, THIS place has great stuff! FIrst of all, if you're a fan of tuna subs, then there is no place else to go but here! This is absolutely the BEST tuna sub there is. What I love best about this place is the veggies! They are ALL CUT FRESH! They don't use bagged stuff, like Subway...ewwww. I have been there when they are cutting up big heads of ice berg lettuce. Reminds me a lot of how strip malls/ standalone stores used to be when you had little burger joints, ice cream places, diners, small markets and drive-ins dominating the streetscape........you really don't get this anymore in South Florida....everything seems to be so generic. Every strip mall looks identical...with a Beal's or an Albertson's if you're in country city or Publix and Einstein's if you're in glossed-over suburbia . But there are breaks, occasionally. Subs are delicious here . There's 5 people working every time I come. One is cutting veggies, another slicing meat, a third grabbing the fresh cookies, another cooking and the last person makes your sandwich. Why elaborate this? To point out there's a good work ethic and that they put in that extra effort to make you a good sub. My only recommendation would be that they should request if you want your bread toasted. This place has awesome subs, hot or cold. I'm an Italian type guy, I'm talking sandwiches here. They have two different types of Italian subs and you could get those hot or cold. Both are tasty. I've heard sooo much of how good the Tuna sandwich is, but I have yet to try that one. It's on the list though!!! I've also tried the hot chicken breast sandwich. You're face will literally melt into the sandwich because you won't be able to stop. Everything here is fresh, and they have a large assortment of condiments and toppings, your options are endless. Don't get me wrong - they make a decent sandwich, not great...but better than Subway. The pre-sliced portions and smallish size might have dropped them to two stars, but the service is great and the ingredients are very good quality.
