Went in after seeing the special the shop was offering. The shop was nice as were the employees. I'm a darker skinned black man and asked prior to arriving if they had an artist that was EXPERIENCED with darker skin. I was paired with an artist and we discussed the tattoo I was covering from a previous hack job on my hand, that artist was inexperienced with darker skin. My appointment was the day after Christmas. I arrived early like I was told to. My artist arrived at opening no big deal due to snow. Here's where it goes bad, this EXPERIENCED artist who had a great portfolio took six hours on my hand we had discussed doing 2 tattoos that day. The shop is only open for 8 hours. This person over colored and and gouged my skin. Without asking, he began touching up some previous letters I had. The initials are KDJ in cursive and he made the J a G I told him stop. We made a plan to fix the mistake and complete the second tattoo. I was set to come back on January 7th but got sick and cancelled my appointment, so as to not infect the shop. After numerous comments on my new tattoo I made the decision to not return. I contacted the owner to discuss my concerns. While he was nice about my concerns, aside from offering me another artist without ever saying the shop would cover the cost of this mistake. He didn't seem to have any concerns himself. At this point I'm going to have to have another shop fix the mistake he made, as well as cover for the 3rd time this horriblely over inked tattoo. I can not in good conscience recommend this shop to anyone of color. Unfortunately this shop doesn't have artist with experience with people of color. Being comfortable and having experience are two separate things. I can assure you there's a serious lack of understanding when it comes to tattooing darker skinned people. I am at a month out from my appointment and have numerous scares and spots, from the previous tattoo that weren't covered. Update- the tattoo appears to be permanently scared on the eyes, nose and right orbital of the skull. The teeth are non existent do to the over coloring. I am beyond frustrated! read more

Before I say anything, don't let me discourage you from checking out this shop's artists and their work, I have seen good pieces done by them, but I'm just sharing my experience. They did my first tattoo around October 2022 and touched it up for free about a month later upon my request. I thought the design would be easy enough for practically any place to do and I have a friend who has a nice tattoo from this shop. I ended up getting the tattoo from here, here's how it turned out. This is the fourth tattoo shop that I have used in the Denver-Parker-Aurora area and I have to tell you it was a GREAT experience. The shop was organized and clean and staff were friendly. They all adhered to COVID guidelines. Also, the equipment was up to date, ie less pain, quieter. Pricing was competitive with other shops. But the best part was the quality and attention to detail that the artist, Aizja, brought to the experience. She is the best artist I have ever worked with. Thank you - it looks great! read more

Horrendous line work. Options are laser removal or have another artist fix the sub-par work and alter the original design. Never going there again. Owner is quite a character who threatens to sue you for posting negative reviews. At least the credit card company also agreed that the work was egregious and did indeed honor my dispute and refund my money. read more

Sad to say that my experience getting tattooed here wasn't great for a few reasons. First and foremost, the artist who worked on me used a stolen design, when I had asked for something custom - and a pretty simple design, with a sketch of mine own to give ideas, at that. She just snagged and traced some commonly reposted art off Google images, and silly me, thinking that she's a professional and would whip up something on her own talent, didn't think to go through the first few pages of a Google search to make sure that was the case. Yikes. Finding this out a year later is not fun. Secondly, this might not be the fault of the artist, but the quality of the tattoo itself just isn't good. It's blotchy and faded like a years-old tattoo, but I've only had it for just shy of a year. The colors didn't really take at all, and that's after multiple touch-ups with this artist. I bled like crazy when getting the thing and it got infected despite careful care, but that was only the first time around; the touch-ups healed fine, it just still didn't look good after. Again, I don't know if this is the artist's fault, since bodies are volatile and all, but I put it out there mainly to say that I not only have stolen art on my arm, but it doesn't even look good. I honestly regret it now despite the subject matter being something that was supposed to make me happy when I looked at it. Very sad. Ultimately I hate writing a negative review for this place, because everyone OTHER than the artist I worked with was awesome. It's a nice shop, it's clean and casual, and I think if I'd worked with anyone else I might have been comfortable getting my first tattoo here. My partner got a couple of pieces done by a different artist here and not only are they totally unique, they're gorgeous and healed without a hitch, with colors still vibrant. That artist (a redheaded lady, I don't recall her name unfortunately) was also super friendly and receptive to feedback, which mine was not very at all. I'd recommend the place if my own personal experience hadn't been overall negative, but I can only give feedback based on how it went for me personally. TL;DR: The shop is cool, but don't work with the artist Aizja (sp? pronounced "Asia"), if she's still there. Everyone else will probably do a great job. Too bad this one artist soured the experience for me. read more

I've been getting tattoos for 20 years and have NEVER had a problem. I only had the color of one tattoo touched up after 15 years. All of my other tattoos were and still are perfect. I went to this place two weeks ago and every single one of my tattoos needs to be fixed. There are parts she did really thin and parts she did really thick. There are parts that look faded and parts that look blurry. The work was pretty shoddy and they are the first tattoos I am embarrassed to have. I talked with someone at the store and he said it is totally normal for people to have to get touch ups immediately after your skin heals, but as I mentioned, I have never had any of my tattoos look anything less than perfect. I am so disappointed in what they consider art and am getting my tattoos corrected elsewhere. read more

I have been searching for a tattoo artist for years to do a cougar tattoo with my daughter's name. I have sent pictures, spoken with, have deposits to many. all disappointed with their artistry or acted like I was a nuisance. I came across Sublime on Facebook and loved John's work. Without a personal reference, I was nervous. I showed for my appointment and John was pleasant from beginning to end. He has a light hand too! I was pretty disappointed when visiting this shop. I had talked with someone on Facebook about scheduling a nose piercing, and decided to call the shop instead because I thought it would be easier. I had spoke with a lady who confirmed an appointment for me on the 4th at 4pm. Me and my husband walked into the shop, and the vibe was extremely awkward to begin with. We showed up early to be courteous, but it turned out my appointment had been scheduled a week later than what I was told on the phone. The guy at the front desk called Chad (who I'm assuming is a manager or owner) and Chad told me I was scheduled for the 11th, not the 4th. It honestly felt like I was being blamed for their scheduling error, being told by Chad that, "it's impossible for my appointment to be on the 4th because they were at an event". I was offered a $25 gift card for the troubles, which I do appreciate, however I declined because it's very frustrating when my time is wasted. My husband heard me make the phone call to Sublime, and also confirmed that the appointment that had been scheduled for me was on the 4th. There was a girl with red hair, doing a tattoo, who was more concerned about the situation than the two at the front desk. We felt very unwelcome as well; I'm sad because the work I've seen is beautiful, but the scheduling issue needs to be addressed. I ended up calling Dynamic in Franktown, and Deb fit me right in. It's unfortunate because time is money in this industry, as it is in mine. I would have gladly accepted the gift card, if I hadn't had hired a babysitter to watch my little. I showed up to Sublime Tattoo early even though I had a consultation set up later in the day to see there best artist and the person who referred me. I asked to see there portfolios and was told they don't keep any because children rip them up. When I was told that instantly felt like the the shop was a daycare center for unresponsible parents. Either way I was told all the work is online so I started to look online and you can't even tell what work was done by who huge turn off. Was also turned off by the fact that there is no privacy between each tattoo station. Well I ended up living and coming back ten mins till my consultation. I was in plans to talk to the person who referred me that also works there and the artist. The person who referred me never showed it was just me and the artist who is a waste of time to talk to all he did was look at the picture and said I can do it . That's all the consultation is there waste of time to set up and gas. Make note from the tattoos I did see online they had shady line work and a few blow outs. And anybody should think twice about getting any work done here. PS. One of there clients came out with a very swollen arm after being worked on. Surprised they in business!!!!! read more
