One thing about me is depending on the day, I am cartoonishly anxious. Lucky artist Amanda Boik got me on one of my bad days. I was indecisive, insecure, antsy, and overthinking everything. Fun! Despite my best efforts to drive her insane, she was the picture of professionalism throughout our session. She worked with me to ensure I was happy with the piece and it's placement, and answered all of my questions (including the half-dozen times I asked if I was moving too much). After going back to the drawing board twice to make adjustments to the design, Amanda did a beautiful job on my White Rabbit tattoo. Her line work is STUNNING! I will also say that she had a very light touch, and the experience was about as painless as it could be for an hour of needles being jabbed into my skin. Pricing was fair, and the booking process was easy. The shop was clean, and had a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. I got tattooed by Lizz at dead drift tattoo about a month ago, pretty soon after everything opened back up after Covid. I would like to leave a review about Lizz, the shop itself, and the other artists at the shop. Lizz (tattoosbylizz on ig) was really easy to book an appointment with, go to her instagram and follow the steps. She took my tattoo dreams and made them a reality! Her art is incredible and her talent is insane. I have another appointment in a couple weeks to continue work on my forearm sleeve. Seriously, give her a follow on Instagram and see for yourself. After my tattoo appointment with Lizz my husband shot her an email and set up an appointment. She worked on some existing work that he had and made an incredible addition to get his arm looking more like a half sleeve. Not only is she crazy talented but Lizz is a super genuine and a kind soul, she made the 3 1/2 hours comfortable and relaxing. Dead Drift was clean and an open concept (super spacious.) Everything you could want in the shop. As far as Covid protocol, I had to wear a mask and so did the artists but I really don't mind at all. It's truly for our safety/the artists safety. I felt really comfortable/safe the entire time. Although I've only been tattooed by Lizz I have followed most of the other artists at Dead Drift and the amount of talent this shop has is insane and cover a wide range of genres. The little brother and I have been talking about sibling tattoos for quite some time. My sixth, his first. After perusing Yelp a number of times and looking for a shop with great reviews and decent prices, we walked into Dead Drift Tattoo. This was the first of a couple we wanted to check out, but as soon as we walked in, Dan and Keith greeted us and were friendly, knowledgeable, and super chill to talk to about our idea. We both immediately decided this was the place for us and about an hour and a half and a good breakfast later, we were sitting in their chairs. Absolutely love how both pieces turned out. Keith did mine and he was professional and a bit of a perfectionist which is much appreciated when it comes to someone drawing a permanent picture on your body. This is a cash only shop, but prices are very reasonable and they offered free touch-ups anytime. It's been about a decade since I got my last one, and I kind of (on purpose) forgot how addicting they are. I am already thinking about my next piece and the brother has 100% fallen down the rabbit hole into this wonderful tattoo wonderland and the great job Dan did on his helped guide him there. I had been emailing back and forth with an artist at another shop, and because he couldn't fit me in his schedule in the time frame I was looking at, he recommended me to the great people at Dead Drift. And I'm so glad he did!! I went by on a Saturday, because I was already out and about, and Sara ended up getting me in right then and there. I explained the idea for my first ever tattoo, a specific mountain range, and she drew it up. We worked on it a little together, then it was show time. The mountains are above and beyond what I ever thought they could be, and Sara made the experience comfortable and casual! Not to mention, you can't beat the price for the quality. It's taken a bit of time to post this, but Dead Drift is my favorite tattoo shop yet! As a Denver local, I will be returning no question, and I would wait the time again to get another piece done by AJ! I'm also planning to walk in sometime soon for additional minis as the mood arises, since everyone in the shop was warm and welcoming. I have a number of smaller tattoos and realized it was time for my first "bigger" piece. Though smaller than many big pieces for others, it's big for me! AJ was amazing - his line work is unreal! We communicated back-and-forth via email during the wait until my appointment, which was well worth it. I'm beyond happy with my piece, and it healed quickly, looking just as fantastic as it looked fresh out of the shop. The shop is clean, everyone is friendly and professional, and I wouldn't hesitate to go back and visit any of the artists. Came in as a walk-in on my visit to Denver, with no initial plans of getting a tattoo, and left with a beautiful memory of my grandmother. Dan produced a replica of my grandmother's signature and I couldn't be more pleased with the line-work. It healed so perfectly and I'm always getting compliments on it. He was quick, but didn't rush the process, and he worked with the placement, sizing, and everything else that comes with it. It's refined and gorgeous and I don't think I could have gotten better care and attention to detail anywhere else - especially as a walk-in. I'm so grateful to have stumbled upon this place. Anna Figallo did my first ever tattoo. She was so gentle and patient and kind. She answered all my questions, collaborated with me every step of the way, and gave me plenty of time to breathe and adjust to the new experience. She created a warm and easygoing fun environment that helped me relax even while being tattooed on a painful spot - top of the foot! I was a walk-in and she was the one who greeted me, and when I told her what I was thinking about, she studied the design and then said, "yes, I can do that for you now if you like." she was very professional but also kept things casual and comfy. Also, i'd read in other reviews of the shop that their pricing was more affordable than other places and also that the shop had generally a less snobby atmosphere. Both were spot on. I'd tried to research by walking in to other shops and the people at other places looked at me like "are you lost? What are you doing here?" Anna acted as if I were her next customer, and so I was! She quoted me an extremely reasonable price way under what I'd budgeted, so I made up the difference with a huge tip. Anna's a great artist for clean linework and for an inaugural tattoo. read more
