Fabulous place to get a Cuban! Everyone is so friendly and happy there. It's a little hole-in-the-wall, won't be sorry you stopped in, kind of place. There's not a lot of seating. It's like a quick, stop in. The Cuban was incredible. Very crispy on the outside. Juicy, flavorful on the inside. It's everything you want a Cuban to be. Thanks to Yelp for having stumbled upon this gem. Little did I know that Subs n such is a true Lakeland institution that has been around for 38 years. Also upon a revered review, I ordered the Dean special before realizing the kind man who greeted me was the owner whose sandwich is his namesake. The garlic/pepper blend and oil on the sammy was out of this world! To top off the experience, Dean gave me a free drink for stopping in my first time. I'll definitely be back. And soon! read more

Great little find in Lakeland. Stopped by for lunch and service was lightning fast, efficient, and polite. Had the Dean special on suggestion of Dean himself, I believe. Subbed out the ham for turkey since I'm not a ham lover. Sandwich was fresh and delicious. Nice tables outside if you want your sub with a side of fresh air. I'm from Jersey and I was looking for a quick place for breakfast and landed at this gem. Instead of an egg sandwich I went with a turkey and Swiss sub on white. The bread was soft and fresh and the meat and cheese was perfect. I can see why this place has been around 40 years. Skip the subway and other places and check it out. We were in Lakeland for little ones Jiu Jitsu comp and I found this place on yelp. It was clearly a neighborhood favorite. It's like a little old IceCream shack. Not a ton of space inside or out and a little disorienting as there are folks yelling orders back and forth through a little window area. I wish I would have stepped back and waited a minute because right under the window, on a blackboard above the kitchen area are specials. And they looked good! Today I was starving and no one else delivers, so I ordered a Greek salad to keep it light. The salad was so fresh and the dressing was tasty. Just moved to lakeland not to long ago and stumbled across this place ' ended up talking to Dean and found out he's from my parents hometown of Allentown PA , in Allentown we grew up eating at a hotdog place called Yacoos that was founded in I believe 1926 ! If your from the area or have ever eaten the famous Yacoos hot dog I recommend you try the chili dog at subs and stuff because it's like eating a Yacoos on steroids! read more

This is another one of my fav's when I go home to Lakeland, I grew up on Subs and Such this place has been around for years and it never disappoints when I go. This was my first time going back here in years and I can say I've missed this place I stopped by as I was coming in town to get the Italian Sub on white, once I got there I was greeted with a welcome and a smile, which is how'd I'd always remembered them. which was very nice to know that they were a pleasure back then and now so I ordered my Regular 6 inch Italian which has always been my favorite with the sweet pickles and hot peppers, I'd ask for extra pickles and she had no problems with that she asked if I wanted them on the sub or on the side I advised on the sub and she did. I decided to get it to go which didn't take long at all. But it's just nice to see the longevity of Subs and Such. Keep up the great work. Hometown favorite read more

This place is great. Stopped in for a quick bite to eat while I was traveling through town and stopped here on a limb. I pulled up and knew this place had character. I walked in and was kindly welcomed by the whole staff. I was surprised by their large menu and ended up ordering the Italian Sub on white and it was delicious. The bread in particular was soft and fresh. While I was there I was told they've been in business for over 40 years and I'm not surprised. Nice job! read more

Can't say enough good things about this place. A coworker and I had a business trip in Lakeland lasting several weeks, and we tried it for lunch one day. We were instantly hooked. Food is super-high quality and portions are very generous. We especially liked the tuna and chicken salad subs. The relish they add to the subs makes them. Everything we tried - including soups, salads, wraps, and cake for dessert - tasted great. We came back every day for the rest of the trip (2 weeks). Prices are very reasonable - comparable to Subway, etc. But the quality is FAR superior to that and other fast food sandwich chains. Staff was more than friendly - the owner made it a point to greet us every day and make sure our meal was acceptable. A+ service. Environment is also fun. Old-time diner feel. The space is small, but it makes it seem quaint as opposed to congested. read more

I have a mixed review - The sandwiches are the usual 8-inch sub variety but there wasn't much in them except for the humongously thick sub rolls that swallow up the low level of ingredients. The meats appear to have been pulled from a vacuum packed grocery-store-bought lunchmeat package (and not the fancy deli kind.. I'm talkin' Oscar Meyer kind). Just grabbed the whole wad, folded it over and threw it on a sub roll. Absolutely no flavor to the meats and cheeses at all. The condiments supply all the flavor here so order all-the-way and extra on them. I couldn't repeatedly eat their subs with such massive sub rolls so I switched over to wraps - same ingredients rolled up. I was happy with my wrap, drink and chip lunch until one day the price went up at the register (not on the menu). I paid it. Came back several days later for the same meal - back to the old price. Next day.. charged me a dollar more at the register (menu still the same old price) and I'd had it. That was the last time I ate at Subs-n-Such. They've got 6 people behind the counter in an area about the size of a home bathroom and only one of them knows what to charge you for your meal.. and he's not always there so... Overall - The food tasted good, even if it was all from the condiments. The prices are average at around 8-9 dollar lunch combos - sandwich, drink & chips (seems all sandwiches in this area are 7-9 dollars). Aside from the pricing problem, the service is very good - and fast when doing take-out at the counter. You can grab-n-go. You can eat in your car. There's even a large shade tree in the back corner with picnic tables - very relaxing with the ever present cool breezes. read more

The original main store is quaint as it is a walk-in drive thru facility which is like stepping back in time. It is best going to explore it when temperatures allow us to stay outdoors. Their Cuban sandwich is still my favorite choice, regardless of location. I must say I was very pleased once they reopened the Subs'n'Such on the South side of Lakeland. read more

One of the best local sub shops around. Their bacon egg & cheese on a Cresent roll for breakfast is amazing. Any one of their many subs are all great. My favorite is the club.
