They had to reschedule my appointment initially but I found that they were still accommodating. Angelina is the aesthetician that serviced me. She was very professional and did a great job. She took the necessary precautions by wearing a face mask, and had essentially what feels like a table cover over the table. She also provided me with a fresh face mask to wear after my treatment. I have had eye lash extensions done at 4 places now so I can make a good assessment on what should and should not happen during your experience. The eyelash place is located within a hair salon. You check in at the hair salon then are taken upstairs to their lash "lair". I waited 20 minutes to get a lavilash refill even though I made an appointment one week in advance. The salon owner had locked the lash "lair" door and no one at the salon had a key. Kind of sounds unprofessional and weird considering the fact that I made an appointment. You know, when you make an appointment that gives you advance notice to prepare for said appointment? Back to the experience... when I finally make it into the "lair" its nothing more than a walk in closet with a massage table and a big mirror on the wall. The place didn't feel warm or inviting or much of anything. It didn't look dirty, but it also didn't look clean either. My lash specialist applied my refills and we made small talk. She was nice I guess.I thought it was strange that she carried all of her lashes in her tote bag and didn't have any standard salon supplies with her like, the paper to set your lash tools on. (I think I saw her put it on the radiator) Also, I did not find it very professional to use my forehead as a table to put the eyelashes she was going to use. I kid you not, I don't make these things up! The lashes looked nice initially, but one week after application I developed dry flaking skin above my eyelids. I have never had this problem before let alone at any other lash place. I went to the eye doc and they said it could be from unsanitary practice to bad glue. Who knows. The only thing that I do know is that I will never judge a salon by its location again! This is the second time I thought a Newbury street establishment was going to be a lot more than it was.

When I arrived for my appointment I was surprised to find that it was not Darla who was going to do my lashes but a young lady named Rachel. I went ahead with the service and was super happy with the results. The lashes lasted about 3 weeks. I then went in for a fill and noticed that after a week or so my lashes were in need of another refill! After 3 fills I decided to let them all come out and go in again for a full set which seemed to last a lot longer. I went online to book my appointment and noticed that the price for a synthetic full set had increased by $100 (now $250)!! I called the salon to inquire about it and was not given a good reason as to the increase. I explained that I had been a steady customer for 3 months and could not justify paying $250 for a service that I had paid $150 for 3 months prior. The receptionist did not seem to care about customer loyalty and informed me there was nothing she could do. For THAT PRICE and the hassle of Newbury street parking this place is not worth my time and $. The same day I made an appointment with Lash L'Amour in Newton. I must say that I couldn't be happier with my decision!! After going in for a fill this past weekend I realized why my lashes came off so quickly at Salon Monet. At Lash L'Amour they ACTUALLY REMOVE the loose lashes before they start to fill them. This WAS NEVER DONE with my 3 fills at Salon Monet! It totally makes sense why after a week or so of getting a fill it looked like I needed another fill. Obviously if the loose lashes are not removed you are not getting your moneys worth for a fill. This is why they get a 2 star instead of 3. Not to mention that every time I go to Lash L'Amour I find parking right in front of the salon. Please read my review about Lash L'Amour.
