They have private rooms which is huge for me because there was no way you're going to see my head uncovered in a room full of salon chairs and other people looking at me. So private rooms is a must and they provide them there. I had 1001 questions for Lori. Besides questions I brought with me my insecurities and my fears and all my emotions to this consultation. She was so knowledgeable and answered every single question I had. Made me feel so comfortable. By the time I left the consultation I was so excited I could not wait to do this. One of the things I read on the Internet is that people suggest you buy 2 hair systems. Lori Said that was not necessary, that was something they used to do when it took a long time to order the hair now they can get it in five days. So I did not feel like she was trying to plus sell me which made me feel even more comfortable going with elements of hair. She showed me different hair systems and helped me match my color. I wanted it to look as natural as possible to my own hair if I had any LOL. I placed the order and made my appointment for one week later. I was so excited for this appointment. Lori was there to help and I had an appointment with Kelly who did the cut in. The two of them together made me feel so relaxed and they did the best job I could've imagined. In my mind I was worried it would just be OK and that at this point I really don't have a lot of options .I would just have to live with whatever happened and however it looked. But I will tell you 2 and a half hours later I started crying .I've not seen myself with this much hair in 20 years. I felt beautiful . I felt normal. We went to the consult and were advised they could fill in the most important areas up front. So that was the plan and he came into the Scottsdale office which was very nice and clean. The gentleman who worked there, I want to say his name was Jeremy? He had the procedure done all over his head and had a very full head of dark brown hair. We wanted to see how this one went before going that route. So anyway, on the day of, they numb the head locally and harvest the hair from the back of the head near the neck because they said that's the hair designed to regrow and not fall out. So they cut along the skin, take what they need, then sew the skin back, like a tummy tuck. My husband does have a line that is under his hair, but not noticeable unless you look for it. They grafted the hair follicles one by one into his head in the front/top where his existing hairline was (they make it look natural). My husband remembers watching the Die Hard movie and eating sandwiches during the procedure. Unfortunately, the numbing medication started to wear off and my husband really wanted his hair, so he moved forward with the treatment. They successfully finished it and although it was painful at the end for him, he was happy it was done. Afterwards, he definitely had some swelling and the guys at work told him he needed to go home because he looked so bad. Probably should have planned for time off. His head looked like Stewy on Family Guy! lol After all that swelling went down, he healed up, started washing, dyeing, and cutting his hair, and now 20 years later, it's still there, and looks natural. It's a great trivia conversation! Lol He still talks about how much he wanted his hair that he even had a Bosley VHS tape that he played for me when we met. We are surprised when we look at old pictures and it's very obvious that the procedure worked!! Someone else I knew got the procedure about 10 years ago in this Scottsdale office; afterwards he had some pain and light swelling. He also healed well and looked great! I definitely recommend and can attest it does last.
