I followed his advice and am so glad I did - the place looks amazing and feels light and spacious. Jason helped to paint the space, and he was in constant phone/text communication to provide status updates, and ask me questions on how I wanted certain things done. I'd also had the carpet pulled up in the bedrooms and the floors underneath redone, which left the trim in bad shape. Jason was able to replace and paint the trim as well, which I appreciated greatly. Now that I'm in my home, I'm catching all of these crazy details they didn't miss, like removing all of the light switch/outlet plates and painting behind them, and pulling out the stove and fridge to paint behind the appliances. All floor mold trim, edges and the ceiling lines are cut in perfect. The entire house was given two full coats that were hand applied via a brush and roller. I was in the process of gathering three bids, as I am relatively new to the area and wanted to make sure I was getting a fair price. The estimator showed up on time and did the measurements he needed to and then asked if he could come inside to talk with us about the estimate. Then the hard sell began. He said that if we signed up with AV Painting on the spot, even though I had not gotten a second or third estimate, he would be able to get me a lower price if we were willing to vouch for the company and allow them to put a sign in our yard. I told him I was not comfortable signing up with the first company I heard from. He then said that they would be willing to match another price or maybe it was that they would let me out of an agreement with them if I could prove that another company was providing the same service for less. I understand how these things work, however, and I told him no. I was going to get my other estimates because, well, I'm a responsible adult. This man continued to try to sell me on the company. I had to say no three or four times and basically had to ask him to leave. It must be said that I ended up getting three other estimates and not one of them came in and sat down at my dining table and harangued me about their estimate. Needless to say, I was pretty turned off. But this was just the beginning. Over the course of the next weeks and now months, I have made clear more than four times that I will not be hiring them. I got a call two weeks ago and nearly yelled at the man to please leave me alone. I told him that they had lost my business and that I was not interested. This has not stopped them from contacting me. In fact, I just received an email today. Literally months after I have told them via email and via phone that I was not interested in hiring them, I am still receiving contacts from this company. At this point, I'm actually curious how they get any business at all. They have somehow found a way to match aggressive, hard sell tactics with a complete inability to respond to clear communication. If I could give zero stars I would. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the time and hassle of dealing with this unprofessional company.

Built in 1942, our house had been painted many times, but not for quite a while. It was bubbling, peeling, cracking and just looked terrible. And as with most homes built during that era, the old paint contained lead. It turns out these complicating factors were no problem for the Healthy Painting team. While Healthy Painting's estimate was not the cheapest we received, we could not be happier with the work they did and the experience we had working with them. My house turned out great and all within a week's time. From the pressure washing, to the prepping, painting and touchup, it was worth every penny. Long story: Years ago we had a bad experience with a paint job by a different painter. We didn't pay a lot, and we got what we paid for. The painters were rude, they left paint chips in our yard and flower beds, they took forever to finish the job, and the paint started to peel not long after - evidence of poor prep. This time around we decided we wanted a quality paint job, and were willing to pay for it. We solicited local painter recommendations from several friends we trust, that we know have high standards. I went through the process of getting bids from two different painters. Both were very polite and walked through similar questions about what we were looking for. I had confidence either painter would do a quality job. I chose Strong Painting because their bid came in $6K less than the other painter's bid. I worked with Peter to make sure the written agreement clearly laid out my expectations, so there would be no confusion later. He was happy to do so. We scheduled the job months in advance. When the time came, they actually started a day earlier than planned, which was great. Peter and his crew was polite to my family, which I also appreciated. We were out of town during most of the paint job but Peter kept in touch on key decisions that came up, and provided me with the information I needed to make a decision even though I was remote. When they were done and my wife and I did our final walkaround we found nothing that still needed to be done. Amazing! I was happy to pay the final bill. There are only two small areas where I'd give Strong Painting critical feedback. 1) We had a small plant next to our house that his crew removed and presumably dumped into yard waste rather than tying back and painting around. My wife was annoyed by this. In truth, I thought the plant was dead, so it was understandable to me why they thought so too. 2) They left their old painting van in front of our house day and night throughout the job. This was fine, especially since we were out of town, but they also left it there a few days after the job was complete. I would have rather they moved it when they were done since my wife and I park there. Both very minor issues. In total, a very positive experience. I'll be using Strong Painting next time we paint the house or do other relevant jobs.
