Absolutely THE WORST. They charge you double the going price for propane if you rent the tank from them. Then they give you less than 20% of the value of the propane remaining when you return the tank AND they charge you to pick up the tank $150. SO, I had a 500-gallon tank with 100 gallons remaining and I OWE THEM $66 RENT your tank from anyone else! These folks could not have made things more difficult if they had planned to. From customer service, to employee communications, to technician attitude, it was a nightmare. We were told to do one thing, then we were told to do something different, things dragged out for over 4 months. If we had a choice, we would have gone with a different company, but due to supply chain issues, other vendors did not have the tank we needed. Buyer beware! I am giving a one star rating because I can't leave zero stars. This company has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. If you are looking to have an office assistant tell you that you are 'wrong' or 'stupid', please call Kaylee. She never hesitates to say things that will surprise you, that are rude, and that are CONTRARY to what is in the actual contract. Also, if you enjoy 'surprise' selling (I cant think of another term), where they put propane in your tank that you didn't order when they are in your 'neighborhood', then call Suburban. This company is run poorly, they hate customers, and their manager is just as crooked. I have never met anyone in customer service that is worse. I will pay more to their competitors going forward. I set up my account with Suburban Propane in Battle Ground because they are less than a mile from my location thinking this would be the "easy button" I COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE WRONG. I am a licensed engineer and deal with construction installations like this for a living, so I *know* how this is *supposed* to work. The process started with my contacting them in March when they did a site visit for my tank installation to fuel my standby generator. They applied for the permit with a sketch drawing. Between then and when the generator was actually set, I made decision to move to the generator and tank about 20 feet. The generator was placed in July and Suburban notified I was ready. I dug the ditch. When they showed up to place the tank in SEPTEMBER, they said they couldn't place the tank because the layout changed, and they would have to re-file the permit. BS (again, I do this for a living) as long as the setbacks are correct, you mark up the plan and submit it for inspection. I grudgingly let that go and asked that they just install the pipe in the open ditch. They said they couldn't do that because the temperature change (cooler) would show up as a loss of pressure on the pipe when the fire marshal inspected and would fail the test. Again, BS. I have worked in the field and called for inspections myself. When you are going to call for inspection you ALWAYS run the pressure up to 15 or so lbs higher than the required pressure to compensate for the cooler temperatures, so they left and did nothing other than to tell me because of the new layout, I would need to install 3 traffic bollards (vertical pipe to protect the tank). This didn't make sense as the tank was behind two trees, so I called the fire marshal to ask if they could come out and tell me what was required before I spent a lot of time and money. They said sure but to have Suburban call for the inspection so she could come and look at the install. Suburban did at this point finally come out and install the pipe in the ground after I re-dug the ditch (after standing open for 3 months it had caved in enough that it was no longer deep enough and both my wife and dog had fallen into the ditch). I called Suburban to ask them to call for the inspection and they said they couldn't call for the inspection until I installed the bollards they said I needed. I re-iterated the reason for the call for inspection so the fire marshal, who has the ultimate say, could verify what was needed where. They put me on hold while they talked to the manager and finally said they would call for the inspection. A week later, I hadn't seen the fire marshal yet and called her to see if she had received and inspection request. She hadn't. I then called Suburban and asked if they had called for inspection and they said they had. The next day the fire marshal called me to schedule the inspection. Draw your own conclusions on if the call had been made or not before I called Suburban. In the week while I was waiting for the fire marshal, I went ahead and installed one bollard which I thought would potentially be needed. When the fire marshal got there she said "well, since you have one in already, go ahead and put in a second one, but honestly, I wouldn't have made you put in any" Thanks Suburban for more delays and costs. Finally in November (remember, this started in MARCH), they came out and installed the tank. They then said they would come back on DECEMBER 23rd to install the tank. At this point, I had reached the decision to get rid of them. I only had decided to use Suburban because of the proximity to me and the ability to lease a tank. NOT WORTH IT. I told them to come pick up the tank on the 23rd of December instead of filling it and in the meantime bought my own 250 gallon tank from another vendor who had it installed and filled 2 WEEKS FROM THE TIME OF MY CALL. Now I just got an invoice for a $100 to pick up the tank they never filled and a late charge of $1.63 when this is the first invoice I have seen from them about this charge. I called and complained about the fee and the late charge and was told they would take off the late charge... how thoughtful :( Do yourself a favor and DO NOT use this company. They are uneducated about what is the actual process of installing a propane tank and the requirements, will cost you a ton of money, and are slower than molasses in January getting anything done. 10 year customer, and not one negative issue. Laura and her staff have always worked with us on pricing, delivery, and service. Last year I asked for a new tank because my old one needed paint. Immediately a new one arrived, old gas transferred to new tank, and systems checked. Top of the line trucks and drivers also enhance Suburbans business model. Twice I've let the tank run too low, again, immediate response, and NO major penalty for my poor management. There may be cheaper fuel out there, but I value great customer service, and dependability, over a couple bucks, and a maybe from the fly-by-nights. read more

Do yourself a favor and select one of the local propane companies for your service. These guys "special first year pricing" was 30 percent higher than what I am paying now. And they refused to negotiate my cost lower when I pointed it out . The final dagger was they charged $100 to come and pick up their tank! read more

I own my own tank and only fill every 5 years. I called for an estimate. They were cheaper. So i wanted to schedule a fill. She said they must do a leak check first. So i scheduled that. She said that she would call the Friday before the service to confirm. That never happened. Then the day of the service. She called asking where is the paper work that I was supposed to send in. The paper work was never sent to me. When she did send it to me. It's a stupid contract with them. After all the screwing around I finally got my leak check done. Thanks to me calling them. Then I was told. After the check they would call me to schedule the fill. Soooo. 3 days later I finally had to call AGAIN. I asked why they never called. I was then informed they have zero record on my leak check. They dropped the ball on everything. I finally got the fill scheduled. Once I get it filled. I will never use this company ever again. Waaaaay to much work for me to get these people to take my money. Rediculous. read more
