They are easy to deal with, the office staff is pleasant, and they pricing is typically at or very near the lowest. Propane supply has a lot of game players with mystery fees and other strange practices. Office staff are sometime brusque and unpleasant; prices are often a big negotiation. I've not experienced this with Johnson, and it's one of the reasons I keep coming back.

Being new to propane, I…read morecalled five different companies that served the Grayling Ausable River region to ask questions, compare rates and get a feel for their customer service. Every other company just referred me to their web sites and FAQ and a couple told me that their scheduling/service was limited. Fick and Sons Grayling was the best on every level. I was lucky to reach Brian Klemish when I cold-called Fick. Even before we settled on Fick as our provider and opened an account, Brian offered to drive to the cabin when our HVAC installer would be there; he helped select the best location for the new stub and advise us re the best size and location for our tank. Later, Brian walked me through their service plans and helped me set up our account. Kari, who handles scheduling, thoughtfully scheduled (and rescheduled at our request) the install and service around our contractor's and our schedules. The day set for the installation, Evan and Trenton also consulted about the best location for the tank, placed it, ran the line, fired up the furnace and walked my wife and me through everything including propane safety. They got their work done expertly and without delay and yet were thoughtful, friendly and patient the whole time. That we experienced the same friendly, expert and accommodating customer service from several different Fick folks at every stage from cold-calling to ask questions through to installation and ensuring the new heating system worked tells me it's not just a coincidence, it's the way Fick and Sons does business. We highly recommend this company and their people. We're grateful for the help, the care they showed us and the education they gave us at every step.

I am filing a complaint with the Michigan Attorney General against this company. They no longer…read moregive you access to a local office. You can only call their phone center in Kenya, which is numerous given they are named, Amerigas. They did not autofill my tank in the dead of winter. Thankfully my daughter checks our cottage and saw that the heat was off due to no propane. I immediately called and was told they could not fill it for at least a week. I had to pay a huge amount of money to get heaters in my home to keep the pipes from freezing. I called another company and they brought a tank out the next day. I called Amerigas to have the tank picked up and was told there would be no fees given their error. In the meantime, while the tank sat on my property, they charged me a rental fee. I called again to Kenya and was promised it would be picked up and no fees assessed. The tank was not picked up until May. At that time they sent out another bill, charging me a termination of contract fee, a technician fee and a pick up fee, costing a whopping $652.54! I have called so many times on this it's utterly ridiculous. I have been told there are no records of my calls and that the fees are legit. I am in the process of filing with the Attorney General of Michigan, who has already been involved in numerous lawsuits against this company that they won. I called their resolution department and they only removed the technician fee. Unbelievable that they would not autofill my tank, cause me to have to spend thousands of dollars to keep my pipes from freezing, promise me repeatedly that the charges would be dropped and still claim I owe a tank removal fee and early termination fee. Do not use this company. You can look up the lawsuits online.
