We hired Suburban Solutions to move a table and desk to our house. They were on time and seemed professional, but caused extensive damage to our hardwood floors during the move. They did not use any kind of moving blanket to protect our floors from damage. I called them immediately after the move to report the extensive damage to our floors. We got an estimate and the repairs are going to cost around $1400 (twice the cost of the move). We spoke to Justin at Suburban Solutions, and they sent an expert out to assess the damage. They are now trying to claim that we are lying about the damage and are refusing to pay for repairs. The screenshots attached to this review support the damage being caused by the furniture we hired them to move. We also spoke to the expert they sent and I don't think he would agree with Justin's interpretation of his expert opinion... I would caution against using this company, as they are not careful during the move and are difficult to work with if there is a problem. It's understandable that mistakes happen, but to then give us a hard time about the repairs and insinuate we are lying is frustrating. See below for supporting screenshots.

I moved with Suburban Solutions on May 11. The move was not great, the crew ended up scratching the walls and floors of my brand new house. They also broke the handle on one of my shelves of my Pottery Barn chifferobe and did not say anything until I pointed out the handle on the floor cracked in half. I took pictures of the damage and reached out to Kyle, I believe he is one of the owners/managers. He offered $40 for my Pottery Barn chifferobe damage and offered $125 refund for the damages to my hardwood floors. This was back in May 14 and I still have not received or heard back from Kyle, hence the review. Kyle, if you are reading this, I would like a response and the check that you promised along with your apology.

I used Suburban Solutions for a recent move and added on packing services. When I tell you the packing service was the best money I've ever spent in my life, I am deadly serious. Good thing I had the presence of mind to pack a suitcase of stuff we'd need (there was one night between the pack and the move) because these dudes came through my house like a very organized hurricane that just blew everything that wasn't nailed down into boxes. They wrapped every piece of china in layers of packing paper and arranged it in some magical way so that not one dish broke. They wrapped my unbreakable Corelle dishes from Target the EXACT SAME WAY. My entire four-bedroom house was packed in 4.5 hours. The move itself took place the next day and again the team was extremely punctual and professional. They took amazing care in bringing everything in and making sure it was placed in the right room. And once again, they got the job done in less time (and for less money) than I was originally quoted. And yes, side note, if you work with Bobby on the initial estimate, he is almost certainly going to tell you that the job is going to take longer, be more difficult, and cost more than it will actually end up being in reality. Don't worry about it, the guys who actually show up to do the job will do better than that! Huge shout out to Fred, Isaiah, Justin, Kurt, Ford, and the rest of the team...you guys were the real MVPs making a stressful time far less so! read more

Unprofessional and inconsiderate moving company. They'll park their truck right across your driveway, blocking you in completely, and casually tell you it'll "just be 15 minutes" while they move at a snail's pace, easily stretching it to 30-40 minutes total. Even after they finish loading, they linger next to their truck and in their vehicle, slowly counting cash or chatting, refusing to move until they're good and ready. Then, when you finally ask them to pull out, they shoot you a dirty look like you're the one inconveniencing them. read more

RUN AWAY! I have moved over 10 times throughout my life and have never had an experience this deceitful and poor. They literally broke almost everything that we didn't personally put in a box. They broke a custom bed set and DIDNT TELL US. They broke a bookshelves and DIDNT TELL US. We had a mattress bag that we used on our previous move and they put it HALFWAY inside the bag. It was bent the whole move and can feel the coils sideways and killing our backs. The cost of the move doesn't even cover the damage, even with insurance. Called and emailed 5x a week and still don't have a resolution on this. This is a scam company, RUN AWAY!! They also said it would cost around $2,500. It was almost $4k... that isn't even the issue, the lying and terrible work is the issue. read more

Bad reviews must be hidden. Broken items. Too many to count. Lots of glass. Not careful packers. Not careful movers.

This was a great experience from the get-go. We called for an estimate and got a callback the same day. Throughout the entire process our questions were answered in a timely manner. The estimate was fair and accurate. We had 4 men with our move and they loaded and unloaded very quickly. They always checked in to see what room things were going to and they treated our possessions gently (no one threw things around). They were respectful and careful. I would highly recommend this company read more

Waaaaay over charged. Quoted me $2700 and charged me $4200. Totally unreasonable. Asked for a credit card at the end of the move without showing me the invoice or telling me the total. Bunch of scammers. Said, "took longer than expected." read more

STAY AWAY!!!! DO NOT use Suburban Solutions for your move in the Philly area. Quinten and Justin on the operations team were incredible rude with communication regarding my move. They postponed my move until 1pm due to the weather and then cancelled on me 4 hours prior as the weather was improving. They were unwilling to wait until 1pm and told me I would have to wait until the following week to reschedule. TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE. They'll have you waiting around for hours and they are not flexible or able to adapt at all. Management is very poor and disrespectful and they get flustered very easily and will start calling you names over the phone. Bobby Trauffer the sale guy at the place is a disaster. When I informed him that bad weather was coming her took 3 days to get back to me and insisted that it would not be an issue. That was far from the truth. Don't believe a word this guy says. Others that have used this company have told me that their movers milk the clock to rack up your bill. This company is shady and I'm glad this happened because I wouldn't want them moving my stuff anyway. If you want your move to go smoothly stay far away from these guys. read more

We have Suburban Solutions 3 times. They are very professional and very quick to respond. We scheduled a move for December 22nd. The crew showed up right on time. They worked fast, professionally and made the move very easy. They took care of our furniture and packed boxes. They came in assessed the items and quickly went to work. There was a tough couch to move and they worked it out flawlessly. They did the same once they arrived at our new house. They knocked our move out in under the estimate. Thank you. read more

I could not have asked for better movers ! Lazaro and Darren came professionally dressed, introduced themselves, were well prepared with dollies and other equipment, and worked their tails off for 5 1/2 hours !!! They were polite, strong and hard working. They navigated a difficult house with some very heavy furniture with care and expertise . They did so without any complains and communicated well when clarification was needed. It was a pleasure to have them. I would recommend them without reservation !! Great work ! read more

Avoid this mover. Trouble from the start. First, even though we agreed on a date and the deposit was paid, the very next day they tried to push the move back two weeks. We pushed back and settled on a different date than originally offered. Next, they broke a mirror in transit, because, as they admitted, they failed to secure it properly. They offered a discount based solely on the weight of the mirror, a mere fraction of the cost of repair. Their employee said "It's an accident. We weren't negligent." As if things break all the time by accident during a move. They don't. Maybe these folks should stick to junk removal. Don't hire them to move anything you care about. read more

Cost of move was very fair. Estimate given was accurate. Movers arrived on time and called prior to arrival with time they would arrive. The movers were very friendly and professional. They were cordial and respectful. They were hardworking and proficient. Can't say enough good things about them. They delivered the items on time and promptly unloaded them. I would highly recommend this company and they certainly will have my business in the future. read more

My experience was positive for a long time. Then things changed. There was decent correspondence before the move. Movers (Mike, Ivan, and Joe) were right on time. Things seemed to be progressing. About 10 minutes after they left after it was all over, I noticed a major chunk out of the drywall. As I had just done a very thorough walk through if the new place, I know for a fact that was just done. I called the office, talked to Bobby, and then emailed him a picture of the damage. After speaking to the crew, I got told: 1. The crew "didn't really use the front door (near the damage". They used the side door. Having been there 100% of the time, I would say that both were used equally. 2. The damage is "too low" as his crew always carries items at waist height 3. Too bad, drywall damage is in the contract. I have gone over initial emails again and again and cannot find the word drywall yet Overall, I know damage happens during moves. But I appreciate it when the company acknowledges their mistake. In this scenario, I will have to deal with the repairs made by another. Update: Since this review, I have exchanged several emails with the owners. Long story short, they sent me $30 for repairs. They are concerned that I change my review. As such, I have changed the review from 1 star to 3 stars. read more

When I book this company for my move, I was very happy because they had great reviews. They responded with a quote right away. My quote was decent and I appreciated that they provided a 'Low End and High End' estimate which is based the TOTAL HOURS of the move. On the day of my move, 4 guys showed up for the move instead of 3 guys as stated in the original contract. My move took 2hr2mins (only had 16 items to move). Based on my contract, I should pay around $622 because my move was less than 3hr, however I was charge $735 because they "gave me" an extra guy. So instead of $149/hr, they charged me $179/hr. I NEVER requested for an extra mover, and they never mentioned anywhere in the contract that there will be additional charges if THEY CHOOSE to give you an extra guy. I've called the office multiple times regarding this issue, I've only spoken to Bobby and he claims someone from "operations" is going to call me back, its been over 3 wks and no call. When speaking with Bobby, tells me that I "still paid within the range that the quoted me, so it's not an overcharge" and that "because my move was booked last minute (I booked on Monday for a Saturday move), they didn't have time to send me the email that details potential for additional charges"...WTF PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE VERY DISHONEST. If they expect their clients to abide by the terms and conditions as stated in their contract, they should too. Terrible customer service. read more

I worked with Suburban Solutions for our move from PA to NJ in November 2018. We were moving from a 3 bedroom 2.5 bath to a 4 bedroom 4 bath home. I got around 4 quotes for the moving job. Suburban Solutions was the most competitive price. In addition, we had an extra person for the move (4 guys vs 3 guys from the other quotes). The 5 Stars are for the quote being accurate (no hidden fees), the work completed and the politeness and professionalism of the crew. This was considered a long distance move (over 50 miles). I have not gone through ALL the boxes yet and I'm not sure when we'll be 100% moved in but so far nothing was broken. I did spring for the extra insurance just in case. Hoping to have a majority of the unpacking completed in the next two weeks. If there are any issues, I'll update the review but very happy with their work. read more
A belated review (given that I've finally unpacked everything and I know if anything was damaged!) Edmond, Kris, and Andre worked on our move from Center City into storage in May 2018. Tyree, Dave, and Andre worked on our move from storage into Manayunk in July 2018. Both times, my experience was positive. They were polite and careful with my stuff. Nothing was broken. The move was efficient and quick and I did not get the sense that they were taking their time to stretch out the billable hours. An important thing to check if you're shopping for movers - ask if the billable time includes travel time from their location to yours. Suburban does not charge for that time, but charges a slightly higher rate once they do arrive. It's a tradeoff depending on where you live. read more

These folks just helped me downsize from a single home to a two bedroom apartment. The estimating and booking process was easy. Four movers showed up on time. The physical move process can be very stressful but the 4 men crew that did my move on December 10, 2015 was the most stress free and easiest move I have never had. In the past 5 years I have moved 4 times so I know a little something about the moving process :-) I contacted Suburban Solutions and the company that I used previously; I decided on Suburban Solutions simply because the customer service was better (I always got prompt responses) and the Yelp reviews all spoke positive about the company. Although other company's quote was less, I believed that Suburban Solutions would provide better service and they did!!! The day of the move I got call letting me know they were on their way, they arrived within the originally identified window. There were two trucks since the house I was moving to was on a smaller street. The guys all came in and introduced myself. They started the move, they were efficient, quick and courteous. Upon arriving to my new house I gave them the tour of where everything should be placed. They moved me in quickly and took great care during the process, they unwrapped all the furniture that they had wrapped up. They made sure I was satisfied with my move. I was beyond please with my move. The four man crew that did my move was: Justin H., Josh, Bobby, and Ivan; these guys were awesome. I highly recommend this company for your move. read more

First, I rarely do yelp reviews - but if you're ever considering overs just save yourselves the headache and let Suburban Solutions handle it. They were the most professional, courteous and efficient team I've ever worked with - and we've moved 7 times in 20 years. If you're looking for a great moving company in Delco or the surrounding area, this is the one! After a stressful move 6 years ago that involved broken promises from friends to help, mishaps with a truck rental, and an ultimate cancellation of my auto insurance due to a minor fender bender, I decided I would never do my own moves again!!! I moved 12/22, the Friday before Christmas, and wanted to find a company that would provide quick, affordable and professional service. I checked Yelp for recommendations, and compiled a list of about 4 places in my area. Using the "get a quote" feature on Yelp, I was able to submit one request that was forwarded to several different companies who communicated with me via email. This is a great feature. One of the companies that got back to me was Suburban Solutions. I rcvd quotes for a 2-mile move from a 3 BR house to a 2 BR apartment that ranged from over $600 down to about $300. Most had a 3 hour minimum with a bunch of hidden costs to drive the price up! I knew the move would be organized on my end and would not take that long, but the companies I called wouldn't budge. Suburban Solutions worked with me. They have a 2 hour minimum, and were VERY clear about the cost breakdown. It was fair and made sense to me, a first-time user. From beginning to end the communication was great! The movers were on time, professional, had perfect directions, didn't damage anything and moved us in a little over an hour! They carried the furniture up to the new apartment, 21 stairs, and never complained! They wrapped everything that needed it and placed everything exactly where I asked! I was happy to pay the 2 hour minimum for the truck and manpower, plus a nice tip! If you have to move...THIS IS THE COMPANY TO CALL! Thank you Suburban Solutions...You are the BEST!!! read more

I wish I could give them 6 stars! Lamar and Tyler went above and beyond, their energy and positive attitude was infectious and they moved everything so quickly (even with 3+ floors in our house). They wrapped EVERYTHING. We're still unpacking but everything seems to be fine with very minimal damages to anything. Lamar especially kept everyone spirits up throughout the day and that alone made the move so much easier because he kept everyone motivated! Moving is never fun, but these guys made it so easy and were SO kind and helpful- I'd dare to say we had fun moving. Amazing job, would definitely hire again! read more

My movers showed up an hour late and were very rushed the entire time. They didn't protect a brand new couch well enough and jammed it through the door, tearing it. They denied causing the damage and refused to take responsibility, similar to other posts on Yelp. In addition, because they showed up late, they were late for their next job. While waiting a few minutes for access to the loading dock at my condo they were very unprofessional to our building staff who were trying their best to accommodate them. I would avoid this clown show company at all costs. read more

No complaints! After filling out the web form, someone emailed me a quote within 30 min, adjustments were quickly made as needed to finalize the quote. Originally they scheduled 2 guys for the move, three showed up for the same hourly rate! The crew moved very fast and prided themselves at beating the low-end time that was quoted which is exactly what you want when you're paying hourly! We hired Suburban Solutions for a straightforward move within the Philadelphia suburbs. They were hardworking but very disorganized. It was unclear who was in charge, and each worker seemed inclined to do their own thing. They could barely keep track of the hardware of the furniture they disassembled, and forgot to return it to me (fortunately I remembered at the last minute and they fished it out of a bag). Worst of all, they badly damaged our wooden staircase -- by dropping a pile of table legs down the stairs, and by sinking a corner of a large armoir into the wood. The manager promised to send a repair person out to fix it, but this seems to have been a lie. It has been a month and a half and no repair person has appeared. Do not use this company. They are not trustworthy. read more

We had a great experience with Suburban Solutions for an out of state move (Philly to Chicago). After doing a ton of research on how to hire moving companies, I got quotes from three. Suburban was the only company who agreed to do an in-home estimate (meaning the estimated quote was going to be more accurate), and also ended up having the cheapest quote to move our stuff; they also found us a separate mover for our motorcycle for a good price. Moving out: our move date was two days after a massive blizzard dumped about two feet of snow which really complicated where the truck could park. Our driver figured it out (despite having minimal options) and there were no problems. The team of four navigated a slow elevator and kind of a long walk from apartment door to truck, and moved our entire two bedroom apartment in about four hours - it was impressively fast. One of the guys actually helped us break down our pack-n-play as we were having trouble doing it ourselves. Moving in: one of the reasons we went with Suburban is they would take just our stuff in one truck and drive straight to Chicago (rather than putting our stuff with a bunch of other people's and giving us a 10-14 day window for arrival). Our driver contacted us, as promised, when he arrived in the area on the evening before our move in date. He arrived early the next day with another team of three guys (so four total), and they moved all our stuff into the house in about 90 minutes. After unpacking everything, we had only 3 small items break (and stuff breaks when you move) and Suburban cut us a check for the $100 replacement value rather than the insured value of $0.60/pound. Customer service: this set Suburban apart for me. We changed our date after realizing we had set it out too late, and Patrick worked with us and got it done despite dealing with logistics from the blizzard. Patrick answered my many emails in the days leading up to the move about TV boxes, mattress bags, etc., quickly and politely. Finally, we had a few items that we wanted removed from the apartment (not bringing with us) - when the movers couldn't take them the day of, Patrick showed up before work on the day we were leaving Philly and took them away himself. Overall, I was super impressed with Suburban, especially after being nervous reading horror stories about moving companies online. Moving in the middle of the winter, with a newborn baby no less, was daunting, but Suburban made it easy. I would hire them again in a heartbeat. read more

Suburban Solutions was a great partner for my move from beginning to end!!! After filling out their comprehensive estimate form, the company contacted me in a matter of hours (even on Labor Day!) asking for additional details. By the end of the week, they sent out a representative to review all the items that needed to go and finalized a quote that afternoon. On the day of the move, there were no surprises. 4 crew members met me at my load location, completed the load in less than 2 hours and drove down to Maryland. The unload was just as quick and they even beat us to our new home! There were no surprises, everyone was very friendly, and willing to work hard. I am definitely using Suburban Solutions again in the future. read more

Excellent, Would use again, I referred to a friend already I was a little skeptical with all 5 star reviews. I went to the website and submitted a request for a quote. Someone contacted me. they sent me an email quote with a price range to expect. Day before they called me just to confirm 15 minutes before they arrived, they showed up. I showed the movers the items that needed wrapping , packing and moving. They spent a good amount of time wrapping up all the items, making sure all the corners were protected. Used blue moving blankets and plastic wrap. They loaded the items into the truck, and I drove ahead in own car. At my new house, i showed them where i wanted everything. They moved the items in, cut the plastic and tape, and then took all the trash with them. The billing process was simple as one of the guys on the moving team had been keeping track of hours spent. He calculated my bill, explained everything and I paid. I was waiting for some kicker, like a deal to ask for me to post a five star review in return for something. But nothing. So.. the price worked out cheaper than my quote. I didnt use them for packing up small items to pack up boxes. Just move the large furniture items and things that would not fit into my car. This was the first time I have ever used a moving service and it was great. No horror stories, not stolen or broken items. not crazy high prices or sticker shock. read more

Suburban solutions did an absolutely inspiring job of a difficult move and I cannot say enough good things about them. I had to move very suddenly and not only were they available but we're very kind and caring, quickly moved into action, and we're very willing to do whatever I needed or wanted to treat me amazingly well and carefully and efficiently move my things. I called Suburban Solutions on a Thursday to see if they could do my last minute move on that Friday. They answered right away and said they would find a way to do my move. They asked if I was ok and checked on me several times that day as they quickly got a team together to show up the next day and help. They guaranteed that they would help me pack anything I needed help with and that they would spend all the time and care needed. When they arrived on Friday morning, the movers were kind, amusing, energetic, and pleasant. They efficiently surveyed the things to move and immediately sprung into action. They took extreme care to wrap and care for all of my things. I had packed almost everything, but they did offer to help with anything I had not yet packed. They constantly cracked jokes and helped me enjoy the day and were happy in a very respectful and non judgmental way. Upon arrival at my new apartment, my landlord was late to let us in, but the movers were incredibly kind, patient, and understanding, and amused me with gymnastic tricks and jokes as we were waiting. When we did get in, I was blown away with the speed with which the three of them were able to not only transport the boxes and furniture, but also to assemble the bed, arrange everything as I wanted it, and make sure that they left the place absolutely spotless. Not only did they move things in and make sure they were perfect, the movers were inspiring with the challenges presented by my narrow stairway and low ceiling. It quickly became clear that my bookshelf, for example, would not fit through the last part of the stairway, but this did not deter Suburban Solutions. They quickly assessed the situation and informed me that they could lift it through my window. Not only this, they also warned me that this would take slightly more time and mean a slightly larger bill for me. Laying out these options, they asked if I wanted to go through with this. I was very surprised and pleased at the time they took to think this through and make sure that I made an informed decision that was best for me. I did decide to lift the bookshelf and they did an incredible job (see picture :) ). When we were done, Suburban Solutions had taken two very difficult days and made them calm, enjoyable, and quick, they had been absolutely perfect to work with and took incredible care of all of my belongings. I repeat that their move was incredibly clean, they took the time to pay attention to all details and to do anything they could to make my experience the best it possibly could. These are the kinds of guys you want to be friends with, and having them put their incredible work to your advantage can really make your day- it certainly made my year. I would without a doubt and without any hesitation recommend Suburban Solutions to anyone, and if I ever need to move again I will certainly use them- I'll need them to get that bookshelf back out! read more

To some, there is no greater nerve wracking experience than when you trust something of yours to another human being. When it is the entirety of your possessions, it is compounded a hundred fold. I am sure that everyone that moves a long distance goes through this. However, and I can say this without any hyperbole whatsoever...if you used Suburban Solutions it will be the most stress free move you ever had. From the beginning all the way to the end everyone involved in me moving my family from Philadelphia to Florida was absolutely amazing. About two months before the move date, the gentleman whose name sadly escapes me came out to do the estimate. That estimate may as well have been etched in stone up to and including the time that the van would pull up at our new house. The company remained in regular contact with us all the way leading up to the day of the move, checking on our packing progress and things like that. Anyway, the morning of the move comes and the loadout crew was absolutely wonderful. The driver, Jon, was the first to show up and the men that consisted of the loadout crew: Jean Marc, Daniel, Mark and Mike B were all absolutely amazing. They tore down and loaded everything into the moving truck with such efficiency that I left the house for about twenty minutes after they had been there for about a half hour and was absolutely shocked to see practically everything in the moving truck! Total loadout time was about two hours. One side note on the load out, if you have a large television and are worried about transporting it without the screen breaking or anything like that, they handled packing the televisions with the same care that is usually reserved for newborn babies. The loadout crew and Jon made sure to double check all of our cell numbers for the drive down. We left later that afternoon and sometime the next day arrived in Florida. The company had told us two days from pickup to dropoff time and they were certainly not joking. We were barely at the new house about two hours when Jon was calling to let us know that he was going to be there around 8-830 the next morning. Around 8am the next day I get a call from Jon and by the time I get done with the call he was pulling up with the moving van and the crew that was assisting him load in. I regret not getting their names, but it was mostly due to the fact that they were moving so quick you really did not have the chance they were moving so efficiently. It took them about the same amount of time to put everything back in as the loadout group did to take out. Absolutely amazing. Once everything was loaded in, it was a simple handing over of a check and signing my name in a few places. Everything arrived unharmed and the price agreed upon in the estimate was the price you paid at the end. All I can say is, from beginning to end the treated your things not like they were the most important thing in the world to you; but that your things were the most important things in the world to them. I would use this company again a thousand times over. read more

I carefully researched and received quotes from numerous moving companies in the area for my transition from New Jersey into downtown Philadelphia. I picked Suburban for their efficacy in completing the quote, their competitive cost, and their outstanding reputation on Yelp. It was also important to me that the moving company I used was fully insured, completed background checks, and did not subcontract their employees. My first impressions with the company was with Pat and Ryan, the head estimators. Every email I sent received a response within 24 hours (even if it was just an acknowledgement of documents I sent them) After completing an extensive list and sending them an inventory of the things to be movers, they gave me a great quote with copy of all of their policies as well as extra that could be added (floor protection, additional insurance, etc.). Read the email! It has a load of important information that can make your move so much easier, including the links to the Philadelphia DOT for a parking permit for a move. The day of the move. I had three movers for the morning (Matt, Ed, and Curtis). They notified me when they were 20 minutes away from my apartment and arrived early. They were all very courteous, professional, and personable, even after getting stuck in the elevator of my apartment while moving their equipment to my apartment! They took pride is taking apart all of my furniture and wrapping it up carefully with padded covers and shrink wrap. Consequently, none of my belongings were damaged in the move. From start to finish, my one bedroom apartment was disassembled and assembled in just about 3 hours, coming in under time and budget. They were definitely worth every penny and more! I even went to the bank to get extra tip money for Matt, Ed, and Curtis. I would HIGHLY recommend this crew and company to anyone who was moving and have already given their name to several close friends who are planning to move by years end (they just moved me in yesterday). Big take aways: -Read the introduction and the contracting emails, especially regarding tips for moving. Following the instructions makes everything so much easier for the move. -Print out your parking permit if moving into Philadelphia. It came in handy! -Bring extra tip money. You will want it. -Relax! read more

Long story short - these guys are great! Let me first start off by saying that when I initially began speaking with SS (Suburban Solutions), they were super fast at getting back to my emails with answers to any and all questions I may have had. I scheduled my move a little over a month in advance. I was able to do all the communicating with them via email, simply because that's what I am personally more comfortable with. Picking a date was no problem. I went with October 6th as that was when my new lease was starting in the apartment I was moving into. However, when the time for my move got closer, I realized that I hadn't given myself enough time to finalize things with my new place. I realized this on September 28th. After a few (fast, yet again) emails shot back and forth, SS and I came to the decision to change the date of my move to the 9th of October. Now, it may have been that I gave them enough time to make the change on their end, but I never read anything that let me know there was a deadline to change the date of a move. When it came down to the day of my move, the 3 gentlemen that were helping me that day showed up on time, they were extremely professional, and above all they were FAST! Now, that could easily have been a bad thing, but these guys knew exactly what to do with every piece of furniture in my old apartment. I also have some hoarding tendencies, which meant that underneath and behind much of my furniture there was some debris. They easily worked around all of it and never complained about it. Even when I apologized for the mess, they assured me that they even have experience dealing with hoarders previously. It was great. They even finished the whole move about an hour before they originally estimated! None of my property was damaged in the move, and I'm so grateful for everything they did for me before and during my move. I've already recommended them to all of my friends on Facebook, and if the time ever comes when I need to move again, I know exactly who to call! Thanks so much, guys. Overall, none of my property was damaged in the move. All the men were extremely polite and read more

We recently hired Suburban Solutions Moving and Transport to move us from our apartment to our new home in Maple Shade. Ryan was our contact and he is a true asset to this company in both customer service and setting realistic expectations with his clients. When we first contacted them about an estimate, we spoke via email (just easier than having to play phone tag sometimes!) and everything was laid out clearly and in detail as far as costs, options for additional services such as packing and materials and their procedure. They followed up with us shortly before the day of our move to finalize our inventory and plan any additional needs we may have had. We found their pricing to be extremely fair and realistic, unlike many quotes I had received from other companies in our area and around Philadelphia. I wanted somebody who was fully licensed and insured as well since our valuables were going to be in their hands. When the movers arrived, it was a team of three gentleman who were all friendly and took great care in making sure our furniture was wrapped and ready for moving. They packed up the truck very quickly yet carefully still, and nothing of ours was damaged. When coming into our new home, I was afraid that movers would damage all of the hardwood throughout our house but was pleasantly surprised that the men took the extra steps needed to safeguard our investment. There were quite a lot of stairs they had to maneuver both up and down (with very heavy furniture!), and instead of rushing, becoming impatient or damaging anything with tight corners and narrow landings, they used common sense and communication to make sure everything was moved into our new home carefully. I was extremely happy with the service and friendly attitudes of Suburban Solutions Moving and Transport. Moving can be very stressful and the last thing you need is headaches and additional fees popping up on you in the middle of it all. But Suburban Solutions Moving and Transport was the perfect choice for us and I recommend them to anyone who values their belongings and wants accommodating service at a reasonable price. read more

This review is long overdue! I had the best team of guys (Isaiah, Sean, Danny, Alex, Kevin and Ivan) help our family move from the city to the suburbs. We also had a stop to a storage unit. They were very professional and listened to my directions very well. They were careful and wrapped all of our furniture very well, but they were still very considerate of our time. The quote was higher than I expected and more than I typically paid for moves, but after watching everything they did and realizing how many items we had, I felt like the price at the end of the day was a great deal! I 100% will be using this company again in the future and highly recommend them. With that said, there's a few minor things worth noting to ensure your move goes as smoothly as possible - 1) Label everything with its intended destination if you'll be taking things to 2+ locations. There were a few rugs/boxes that got mixed up, but they were able to fix it for the most part 2) Make sure you do a final run through of the house to ensure nothing is left behind. We let them lock up so we could get a head start to our new place and there were a few screws left behind to build my desk. Luckily, we weren't too far so we could go back and get them the next day. 3) They are able to take the TV off of a TV mount, but they ended up leaving some TV/mount related things at the house that should have come with us and vice versa. Again, we lived close enough it wasn't an issue and my husband realized what was missing, but in case you're not that tech savy, I would recommend doing that all yourself to ensure the correct pieces stay together. Good luck! read more

We used Sean's team for a PA local move on 2/18/18. I sent them their requested detailed list of what we were moving and felt more comfortable with their estimate than I did with people giving me an estimate based solely on how many rooms I was moving. The 6-man team was happy and super helpful. We had a lot of furniture dismantled and moved most of our boxes / tubs into a basement or garage. The process went pretty smoothly and quickly. My only complaint was that I was told just before the trucks were ready to leave that they'd have to come back for our refrigerator. Our frig was too wide to move without taking the doors off and they had a new policy that they are not allowed to remove doors for fear of damaging the frig. They wanted me to have the doors removed while they took the trucks to the new house and they would come back for the frig at their hourly rate. We could have done this ourselves before the movers arrived or earlier in the morning had we known. Instead, I had to have my father-in-law rush over and remove the doors and then pay 1/2 the team for another hour to come back and pick the frig up and then deliver it to the new house. I was able to get a reduced rate after calling a manager, but still..., that part was not awesome. They were great about letting us know in advance that appliances had to be drained, thawed, etc., it would have been good to know about this in advance, too. Overall, the movers were great guys - highly recommend them - and we ended up paying in line with the estimate including the extra hour. They made what could have been a horrible experience way less stressful. read more

I am so pleased with this company, I contacted Kevin in the Philadelphia office after finding them on a Google search. I live in Suburban DC, but I needed to move items from my Mother's home in Suburban Philadelphia to her Assisted Living in Rockville, and then to a storage unit. I have never had to use a moving company, so I had no idea what to expect. Kevin initially came to the house and did a walk through. He explained everything and walked me through the process. Unfortunately for him because of my uncertainty about the logistics, he had to follow up with me and answer more than 20 emails. He never once made me feel bad or that I was bothering him. Moving day came, and Andy, Josh and Chris showed up, Kevin also came to help the team. Andy, walked through with me, and made sure that all of the items that were initially going were still on the list. The guys were so great. They were quick, thorough and efficient. I wavered about a few items during the loading time, and they were exceedingly patient with me even leaving room on the truck in case I changed my mind. They were very careful with an Antique Armoire ,and made sure that before we took it apart that it was able to be reconnected. Again, I cannot say enough good things about the Company or the team that came to the house. I hope I never have to utilize a moving service again, but if I do I will call Kevin and his team. Moving is not fun. Suburban Solutions made it better. We had a relatively big move - 3 story home to another 3 story home. From talking with Bobby in sales to the time the 2 trucks drove away on moving day, the process and service was great. Estimate range was provided and explained. We moved out of old house day one and moved into new house day two. Our items were safely stored in the trucks overnight at their facility. The moving crew was organized and professional - team leaders Justin & Deon, and the crew (Lemar, Mike, Yve and Sylvester) all worked together, advised the newer guys on what to do/not to do, and worked quickly and safely. Nothing was broken. We had a couple of antique desks, which they carefully wrapped in blankets and plastic before moving. (All the furniture was wrapped in plastic - just extra care on the desks.) We moved into an old house with narrow stairs, and they did their best to figure out how to get furniture up, and when some pieces just didn't fit, moved them to wherever we wanted. I see some reviews noted broken items and unhelpful crew members - but we had an great team - but can see in this type of job, that may not always be the case - we can only speak to our specific crew. We walked through at the end and a few things we asked for had to be moved back down stairs after having moved up...not fun for them...but it was service with a smile all day. read more

Excellent service! Moving has never been so easy for us. We moved from DC to Philadelphia. They arrived on time and managed to get their very large moving truck into the alley behind our house. Everything was loaded very quickly (we packed everything before they arrived), and they even wrapped all our furniture in pads and plastic. About 10 minutes before the driver arrived with the truck in Philly the three movers on this end were already waiting outside. I had not reserved parking, but they took care of finding a place on the street to unload with no problem. Aldo and David were the movers in DC. Steve, Matt, and Ivan moved us in Philly. Alex moved on both ends and drove the truck. They were all great, very professional and courteous, packed the furniture efficiently, placed it in our new home wherever we asked, and they were very good humored despite moving fifty boxes of books and heavy furniture up four flights of stairs in the mid-July summer sun. We were quoted a flat rate. We payed exactly what we were quoted, even though there ended up being more boxes and more stairs than we had anticipated. They even had an extra mover in Philadelphia than what was originally planned, and they did not charge us extra for doing so. We will definitely call them next time we need to move. Absolutely worth the cost to make our move completely stress and hassle free. read more

Lisa E We moved from Md to PA which involved two different crews from Suburan Solutions. The first crew, was from the DC area, and the franchise owner was Charlie Smith. His crew was run by Frank. These 4 fellows were diligent, hard working, careful workers who moved a 3 level home of furniture. Everything was protected and wrapped, the guys were friendly, polite and cleaned up their supplies as they went along. Thanks guys!! We really appreciated the hard work you did for us! They truly did an awesome job, as the following day, the Philadelphia franchise owned by Pat McNichol came in. Again, these 4 guys were awesome too! Frank and the Philidelphia crew arrived a bit early, which was great! They were extremely careful with the new wooden floors, the walls, and took great care in placing the furniture carefully where we wanted them to be placed. They were also very personable, and took much pride in their work! All the trash from the plastic was removed, the outside was spotless! Thank you guys! From the packing of the truck, to the furniture being placed in the rooms, NOTHING WAS DAMAGED, SCRATCHED, OR DESTROYED IN ANY WAY AT ALL! Suburan Solution's are excellant movers. They take care of your property which to me was key. 5 STARS!- I'd give you more if I could! Thanks again to everyone for making this move such a positive one! read more

To say I am ecstatic about how easy Suburban Solutions made my move today is an understatement! I will never move myself again without hiring someone like these guys. Kevin S. and John showed up right on time for my scheduled appointment and even called me when they were 20 minutes from my house to give me a heads up as to their impending arrival. They were both professional and courteous. They walked through my house to see what all needed to be moved, explained the game plan to me, and then set to work. They wrapped all my furniture, TVs, and mirrors in protective blankets and took extra special care with all fragile items. They loaded the entire truck in only 40 minutes. They then did a walk-through of the home with me to ensure nothing was missed before heading out to my new address. I met them there and they were equally fast, careful, and professional when unloading the items into my new condo. They asked where I'd like everything and moved different items into their respective rooms to my specifications. They were completely finished with the entire move in 1 hour and 40 minutes. I was amazed! The amount of work they did would have taken me two days on my own. Overall I can't rave enough about the service and particularly Kevin and John. I highly recommend Suburban Solutions for any upcoming move. read more

Quote: They gave a reasonable "realistic" quote. I knew my move would only take a couple of hours and Suburban Solutions gave a realistic quote for what was needed. At first, my date was unavailable. So I was told to check a couple of days later for cancellations. Well I did that and there no cancellations. I guess Ryan could feel my desperation through email so he emailed me the next day when there was a cancellation! Movers: I don't know where to begin. I had James, Dylan and William. They were terrific! They were friendly, fast and PATIENT with me. I was late to the starting point, no fault of my own, and they patiently waited for me. I was in rush mode the entire time. I didn't have enough time to get cash so while they were moving my belongings out of the truck, I left to get cash. I took a long time because I had to find a working ATM, ugh. What a day! Then when I returned with the cash (they were done), the truck door was still opened. I appreciate that because I wanted to make sure the truck was empty before they left. I THEN had the nerve to ask them to help move my dresser after they were finished and they kindly obliged. Now they could have been annoyed with me but they didn't show it. My only regret is that I didn't tip each guy individually, I just gave the tip money to the manager. Ugh. read more

We were moving a 2 bedroom + apartment from Ardmore, PA (suburban Philadelphia) to southern Sussex Cty, DE (Bethany area) with an intermediate stop at our storage unit. We had heard a number of moving company horror stories so we were a bit apprehensive. From our first contact by phone with Suburban Solutions, things could not have gone more smoothly. I'm sorry I can't recall her name, but she patiently walked me through each room to get an accurate inventory for the estimate. Within a day I received a very competitive estimate which we accepted. Between then and moving day, we received regular communication from Bobby. We had to update our inventory a bit which he took care of. We got messages the day before move and the morning of with timing. The moving team (Mike, Chris & Dante) arrived on time and got right to work. They were very careful with our belongings, efficiently wrapping and loading everything both from the 8th fl. apartment and then the storage unit. At the destination, they unloaded, unwrapped and placed everything where we requested including the 2nd. floor. They were friendly, helpful, accommodating and a pleasure to work with. There was not one surprise or glitch throughout the entire process. Moving is a stressful time but I could not recommend Suburban Solutions highly enough. read more

TL;DR: Suburban Solutions did a FANTASTIC job (AGAIN!!) and made moving day EASY. After our great experience with Suburban Solutions in 2014, we went back to Suburban Solutions for our most recent (and hopefully last!) move. Here are some highlights about working with this team: *Their online communication and estimate is ON POINT and made everything work really well. *They arrived early (which is AMAZING), loaded everything with smiles and conversation. *They arrived at the drop-off location at the same time we did (PUNCTUAL) and had everything unloaded and in the proper spots in under one hour. INCREDIBLE! *Kevin L was an AMAZING driver and got the HUGE moving truck down our long, steep, winding driveway with no problems. (I was WAY nervous about this process, and he made it look easy.) [He also had the cutest compliment about our house and it is now our house nickname! Thanks, Kevin!] *Bobby was the man in-charge and was AWESOME and FUN and made the day go by in a breeze. He maintained constant communication about how everything was going and there were no surprises. *We found the pricing to be on-point in comparison with other companies and we came in under our estimated cost. Bottomline: This is a GREAT company and if you are looking for a team to do the work, look here. read more

I picked the worse day to move in Philly. It had been raining for days and traffic was insane but, thank God I had called Suburban Solutions for my move. These guys were pros and knew how to maneuver the city streets in no time and also were able to comfort my nerves before and after the move. Everyone knows how stressful moving is and the entire team at Suburban helped me so much throughout the entire process. First and foremost, you have to call either Kevin or Pat. I can't say enough good things about them. You would never think a company with businesses in DC, New York and Philly would have time to break all the info down to you-but they did. My questions were answered and my budget and time on the phone was respected. The emails I received were detailed and organized. They helped me to be organized as well. I also can't say enough about the guys who broke down my furniture, packed everything up so carefully and even took off my expensive TV's from the mounts and packaged them up as if they were their own. Suburban obviously hires the best guys because they represent them. I even referred them to my 2 best friends and they referred them to their friends as well. You don't need to call anywhere else, trust me. I will be using them for future moves. read more

I had a great experience using Suburban Solutions to move a large dining room set. Their online form is extremely thorough so that they can gauge how many movers are required, what truck is needed, and any other additional considerations. They provided a low end and high end estimate. Since everything was done online, I had everything in writing, though the emails are long and it's up to you to read it all. The day of the move, it was snowing. Suburban called me the day before to let me know they'd be coming 1 or 2 hours later to let the roads clear up. They also called half an hour before they arrived. Ryan and Alex were incredibly nice and really knew what they were doing. They put a protective sheet over the carpet due to the wet weather. They knew how to break down a glass china cabinet and did an incredible job of wrapping it up in a protective blanket and plastic. It was clear they were professionals. At my home, they reassembled the dining table and china cabinet very easily. Everything went really smoothly. Their estimate was spot on (I paid the low end price). There were no hidden fees or surprises. I was very satisfied with my experience using Suburban Solutions and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. read more

We moved 2 days after Christmas (27 Dec 2014) and I wasn't sure exactly how motivated anyone would be to move us to a 3rd floor apartment. I was extremely happy to find that the 4 guys on the crew were all in good spirits. They were all very courteous, professional and wearing uniform shirts. They each took the time to introdce themselves and all were well spoken. After a brief walk through to show them where things were and what was and was not going with them, they got right to work. They worked non-stop until the truck was loaded and my belongings were strapped in. They took great care to pad and wrap all of my furniture and handled all of my stuff carefully. The hardest part of my move was getting the gun safe to the 3rd floor. These guys took it in stride! Not once did any one of them ever say anything derogitory or exhibit any negativity about the task at hand. In fact, they were having a good time with some good natured banter back and forth. It made for a light atmosphere and I think we all actually had a better time than we thought we would. I don't think anyone looks forward to Moving. It's stressful. Suburban Solutions took the stress out of moving and made this a great experience! read more

Three words: White Glove Service! In a very hectic time for me- between moving, travelling, and adjusting to a new job- Suburban Solutions made my life easier. After being referred to them and reading the reviews, it was nice to have a sound mind that Patrick and his team were reputable and well revered. From early interactions, they were extremely helpful and communicative. Patrick understood my unique situation and worked with me to find a time and way that the move would be as accommodating as possible to my schedule. The guys that came were quick, careful and professional. They even helped to move a few things that I didn't think I would be able to have the movers take.
