I had such an amazing experience with Lee's Moving, that they have earned a customer for life in me! Though, I hope I won't be moving again anytime soon (sorry not sorry)! I sought out Lee's upon the recommendation of my realtor after having a meh experience with another moving company a couple of months ago. I had to move twice in two months - once out of the house I sold in June, and into a storage unit; and once out of the storage unit and into the new house I bought in August. I've had enough packing and moving and unpacking for at least 10 years! But anyway. I talked to someone (I can't recall his name) at Lee's sometime in July about my move in June - what went wrong, how we could avoid any of those issues again, etc. He was incredibly helpful. The main issue I had with the other moving company was that they filled their truck but didn't empty my house, so I was left with doing a good amount of moving on my own. The gentleman at Lee's suggested we book a second box truck, just to make sure we get everything in one trip. He said it sounded like Lee's biggest truck would be bigger than my other moving company's truck, and he said it would most likely fit everything in my storage unit, but he said for some peace of mind, it's only another $100 for a second truck, and if anything, it could make loading and unloading faster. So, the quote I got from him was $1200, four movers, 7-8 hours. This was actually about the same I ended up paying for my first meh move, but already this was sounding like a better and more prepared job. So I booked them. Moving day comes, and they only showed up about 15 minutes late. I was just starting to get worried when they pulled into the storage unit. I lead them up to our unit, which was very big, and had roll-up doors on both sides of the unit. I think they parked a truck on each side, and unloaded from both sides of the unit. I sat there while they unloaded my storage unit and I think it only took about an hour or hour and a half!! It went very fast with 4 guys and a properly sized truck! (And an extra truck!) The four guys (their names escape me, so sorry) were very nice, and brought items over to my car that they felt would be safer for me to transport (small things like record players, lamps, etc). I had to leave shortly before they were finished to pick up my daughter and my niece, but they said they would lock up my storage unit for me and bring me the key when they met me at the new house. (There were some items they were not permitted to transport, like the propane tanks and lawnmower, so we were going to have to come back with my pickup for those anyway.) So a little while later they pulled up to my new house, which (thankfully, for me, and for them!) has a HUGE barn. I asked them to unload furniture into the house, and boxes, stacked by room, into the barn. I think this might have made things much faster for them. They had no problem getting things into my house - in fact there were a few scary moments where I didn't think they'd get my king size mattress up the stairs, but they did it!! The only casualties from my move were a couple of dings in my refrigerator door, but I can't tell for sure how or when they got there - I can only say that Lee's got the refrigerator into my house with no problem, while the 'other' moving company got it out of my house with much struggle and cursing. So if I had to bet, I wouldn't say it happened during the Lee's move. When all was said and done, they finished at the 5 hour mark - 2-3 hours earlier than anticipated. I was ecstatic. I couldn't have asked for the move to go any better. The guys were also nice to the kids, which I always appreciate as a mother. I tipped them very well, since they came in under budget. I am so happy with my experience with Lee's, and won't hesitate in recommending them to anyone else I know that needs a mover!! read more

Hird them to move from a 3BR house in the suburbs to a 2BR apartment in the city. They were so efficient and well prepared. Came on time, knew what they were doing, very professional. Of the companies I contacted, they were the only ones to come to the house to take a look to give their estimate. They were priced right in the middle, but I went with them because I felt they had a better understanding of our needs. I am giving this a zero star yesterday I unpacked my aunts house that was packed up by this company 11 months ago . During the 11 months all of these boxes sat where they were put by this company until we got her settled into a new home after being in a nursing home and selling her home,she is 84 years old and they took complete advantage of her!! There are so many things missing! EVERY box was miss labeled ,we would open up boxes to find everything just thrown in from cleaning products to shoes to clothing ..NOTHING made sense!! I am beyond angry at the way two of the woman who work for this company boxed up her house,COMPLETELY DISGUSTED! I will make sure to tell everyone I know never to use this company! TERRIBLE business and how disgraceful to do this to an 84-year-old Who worked so hard her whole life to have beautiful things to be just thrown in boxes and now we're finding out so many things are missing! We needed movers to bring our stuff back from storage and didn't want to use the guys we hired to put it in storage so I called around and had a great response from Lee's Moving & Storage. Reasonable prices and the guys who did the move, Alex and Kevin, were great! I can't say enough about them! Very professional, hard workers, friendly as well. They were careful with our boxes and had some good advice as well. Have already contracted with them to bring back the rest of our stuff. I was initially happy with the job they did, and gave a generous tip to each of the movers. However, when I installed our fairly new 82" TV a few days later, I learned that it had been damaged by impact during the move, and that the repair cost exceeded the value. I contacted the owner of Lee's, who said that insurance normally pays only $.60 per pound. He offered to send a $56 check to cover the $1500 in damage they caused. Putting aside the ridiculous offer, he never sent a penny. read more

I recently moved from PA to DE and had a bad experience with the movers from this company. The driver made rude comments to me and after they dropped a fragile box while packing the truck, the driver told me not to worry because his boss would pay for it if it was broken! When we got to my new building and had an issue with the fright elevator, I tried to explain to the same guy why we needed to use it. He said, I don't give a s---! I was appalled at his behavior and comment. After they left, I looked at my furniture, and there were scratches and nicks on almost everything. When I called the owner to tell him about the experience, he never apologized or said anything about the driver and problem with my furniture. I used this company two years ago and had no problems, but it definitely didn't feel like the same company. I wouldn't recommend them nor will I ever use them again!! read more

Lee's handled my MIL's move. They stressed her out to no end, breaking many items. I asked her to file for compensation, but she just wanted to close the book with these jerks and move on with her life. They were disrespectful in petty, passive-aggressive ways. For example, one of the movers kept sighing heavily and muttering, "I've never seen anything like this before" whenever she was in earshot. My MIL has plenty of stuff but she isn't a hoarder; if he hasn't seen anything like her house before, then he must be very inexperienced. One comedic bit was when the owner, I think he was named Tim?, missed an appointment but snarkily claimed that he called her and let her know in advance. An adorable lie like that could have worked in 1985. But cell phones have call logs and people know exactly who called, when. Naturally, they were astronomically expensive, as well. She could have bought a very solid used car with the money these disrespectful clowns charged to break a bunch of her stuff. read more

If I could give these movers a minus 20, I would in a second! First of all, they were rather unpleasant and even condescending with us, which is not the way you treat your customers. They kept moaning and complaining non stop about everything! I had answered very thoroughly their boss's questions about my moving needs. This job was expensive for the time. I paid 870 dollars for a 1 bedroom and 1 bath apartment moving job to my current condo which is 2 baths and 2 bedrooms. This job was on August 5th 2015. I will never forget that day! Moreover, the move was only for about 4 miles away. The crew sat in the parking lot forever, when they were still on the clock. The best part was when they flatly refused to move my couch inside the building!!! This couch could easily be dissembled but they had the nerve to leave my leather couch outside in the parking lot! When a very helpful gentleman arrived to help, (there was already my friend there ready to help too!! ) they STILL would not budge and drove off. Never again! Expensive, inexperienced, rude, lazy and very sloppy. They did break a couple of items too. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! read more

Nothing came broken BUT I would not use this company again or recommend them. They quoted us 135/hr and then charged us 150/hr because they added a 4th guy that we didn't ask for. They also tacked on 1 hr for commute - even though it's a 30 minute ride. They then added 15 minutes at the end so "it would be easier math". One guy did more talking and less moving then I did. Another guy stayed on the truck all day. At the end, their credit card machine was "broken" and had to pay with a check. Overall just a lot of hidden costs and very slow service for an hourly mover. Would have been nice for a little honesty upfront. read more

Loved these guys. The booking process was low stress/not pushy even though I was clear I was getting a quote to shop around. Lee's hourly rate & estimate was definitely the lowest and the most transparent. At the end of the day, it was in range with what we'd agreed on as well. They gave me some great tips to keep costs down that I took advantage of (namely moving what I could ahead of time & making sure everything was packed and ready to go) and the crew was very respectful of my things. My new house has a very narrow doorway (its a 100+ year old row home) and without complaining, they popped the door off and quickly moved all my things in before reattaching without a problem. What a professional group of people! An estimater came to our house ON TIME! He was super nice and immediately gave us reasonable pricing and open dates available. On moving day, the workers showed up ON TIME and ready to go. Not one thing got broken which I think is amazing. If they felt like something wasn't packed properly, they would point it out to me. Very helpful. They had clothing boxes with a bar across the top to hang your clothes on. Easy to take out of one closet, move, then hang in new closet. I recently used Lee's Moving and I will never use them again. The movers did a good job. I paid for 3 movers and really got 2. The 2 guys that actually moved me were awesome. They were quick and helpful. My problem was with management. If you decide to use this service, do yourself a favor and get your quote in writing. I was told $122/hour included everything. It included the truck and no travel time. I was also told you can pay with credit card after the move. After my move was complete for 3 hours with 2 1/2 guys, I was charged $502!! I moved from a 1 bedroom apartment to a house. It was an overall easy move. I was also then told there would be a 2% charge for using a CC which was not told to me when I asked before my move. I didn't feel like arguing with the movers and decided to call management. I talked to a guy name Tim who first told me he wasn't a manager but later told me he was. At first he wasn't offering me no information and couldn't care less that I was told false information. It wasn't until I got tired of his childish acts that I lost my temper. He then threatened to come to my house so we can handle this in person. If it wasn't for my girlfriend then who knows how this would have went. She helped calm me down. Afterwards Tim offered a discount which was still higher than our original quote. I will be reporting this business to the BBB after I was threatened and given false information. You shouldn't own a business if you can't handle people. As a customer, when you are not getting help, it's up to the manager to help handle your situation. Not threaten to go to your house. If you train your employees better than this will not happen. When you are told one thing and another happens; how can they expect a customer not to be angry or upset? Maybe it makes sense to them to tell you one thing, do another and then hope the customer just pays you extra money. Do yourself a favor and go with a moving company that will only charge you $90/hour for 3 people. read more

The movers were great, but I paid for three movers for three hours and got two movers for two hours. I was told that one mover was just to drive the truck and to secure the furniture on the truck as the other two brought them onto the truck. I was also told that they were only 10 minutes away, but was charged one hour for travel time. Not happy. Will not be using them again. read more

Lee's was recommended to me by my realtor and I'm so glad that she did! Tim came out to view the house and to give me an estimate. Getting an estimate is crucial, everyone! I once did a move with no estimate and it was a horrible ordeal. I was selling and buying a house on the same day so there was a lot to stress about. This company was experienced with my type of move and even had some tips to offer. (i.e. have someone at the new home to let them in when I'm done settlement). On moving day, I was a wreck and worrying about settlement. Three guys showed up on time and introduced themselves. They were very polite and I walked them through the house. Once they understood what was going and what was staying- they got to work. Nobody complained, nobody sat around, nothing was broken. The guys move swiftly and loaded up a 3 bedroom house and a storage unit in 4 hours. I was amazed. They took a break during settlement and once I was done, my MIL was waiting at the new house to let them in. I would have lost 45 minutes drive time without their tip to have someone there. Once I arrived at the new home, they were already busy hauling items inside. The quote was dead on and I happily paid them for a job well done. They were flexible and made one of the most stressful days in my life a breeze. If you are thinking of moving, I highly recommend Lee's. read more

If I could give them no stars I would. My mother used them for storage for a year as well as moving from her apartment to her current home. The movers were about 2.5 hours late the morning of her move and our family members had boxes ready and already took apart beds. They were suppose to arrive at 8am. I called the office and it went straight to voicemail. On every voicemail, I stated that I would call every 15 minutes until the inbox is full or until they arrive. After 4 voicemails, they called me back and stated that they were on their way. 3 hours have now gone by (now 11am). I peeked in their truck when they arrived and noticed that some boxes were not my mothers. They claimed it took 3 hours to load her pallet and that counts in their 8 hours of moving service (this was not explained by Tim). Towards the end of them moving stuff in, I noticed that it was about 2pm. The movers were only grabbing a few items at a time (a couch pillow, a chair etc.) to extend the moving time. After presenting an outrageous bill to my mother (not initially quoted by Tim). She said that she would like to contest it as this amount was not previously discussed. The main mover EXPLODED with rage and yelled at my mother, got in her face and called her a bitch. I then jumped in his face and made sure to get a picture of the statement before this lowlife took it and forged her signature. How dare Lee's moving employ such vile and disgusting human beings. After my mother threatened litigation, a lower bill was given. read more

We had an amazing experience with Lee's. I could not have asked for a better team. From Tim who did the estimate, to the guys--shout out to Tom, Scott, Kevin, and George. They had smiles on their faces from beginning to end, and I am not kidding when I say the weather could not have been more against us! I was charged a bit extra for an extra person that was there for the first part of the day, and the estimate said there would be only three people, but I was ok with it, especially if it ultimately helped keep us under the time frame I was looking at. They arrived a bit later than expected, but that was ok since I was still getting ready. The team was professional and very kind. They did a walk through of the house, and then got to work. They worked hard and got everything done in the allotted time frame. Their humor and candor was much appreciated, especially since it was such an unfavorable day to be moving. At one point there was a 4 inch deep puddle outside of our condo and they made sure that things stayed as well taken care of as possible. They covered the floors and wiped things off when they could. It was a group effort for sure. They were able to provide wardrobe boxes so that the clothing from the closets could be easily moved from one location to another--so that was helpful! The only thing that I would recommend would be to not be smoking on the job. There were a few cigarette butts on the driveway from the first location, but I am anal about smoking to begin with. When the driver pulled in he had a cigarette hanging out of his mouth while he was parking the truck. Just doesn't come across as very professional. BUT This did NOT take away from how great they were to work with, just a personal note on what I notice as a customer. Worst experience I ever had with a moving company. I've moved 4x's in my adult life and NEVER encountered so many issues. Tim was the representative who came out to give me an estimate. He appeared professional and the estimate was accurate. He also provided tips with the moving process such as taking apart some items ahead of time to save costs since the charges are hourly. Okay so here's everything that went wrong: 1.) I was never warned about the possibility of the movers not being prepared with the correct tools to remove the legs from my sofa. They were able to move my sofa out of my condo no problem with the legs on; however, my new place is on the 2nd floor and the legs needed to be removed in order to get it up the steps. I was told, "I'm not a magician and it's not my problem!" My brother who is not a professional mover or magician removed the legs from my sofa in less than 5 minutes and was able to easily move the sofa into my new place with no issue. 2.) My table in my entrance was nailed to the wall; I was informed by the guy in charge, "The screws were stripped and there was nothing he could do." Again, my brother was able to easily remove the table from the wall; showed me the screws and they were not stripped. 3.) My son's TV was damaged during the move; I called Tim and was informed that they only insure per pound and they were unable to reimburse me the full amount. 4.) My queen size bed was put together wrong. My bed was literally on a slant. Luckily, I noticed it before they left, so I brought it to their attention and the response was, "My bad, I'll fix it." Later that night the entire bed collapsed. My dog often sleeps under or near my bed. Thank God he was no where near the bed when it collapsed. 5.) Last but not least, remember the tips I was provided with about saving time and costs...So I took my son's bed apart. The response from the guy in charge, "We can't put that together. We didn't take it apart." I called Tim to express all of my concerns and he stated, "This happens all of the time and is very common." He had zero empathy and offered no apology. Needless to say, I do not recommend Lee's Moving & Storage. Unless you would like your furniture to be left on your front lawn. read more

I want to send a Great Big "Thank You" to Tim and the guys at Lee's Moving and Storage!!! They definitely were the one bright spot in our disaster of a move. When our settlement fell through on our new home, they were more than accommodating with putting our 2 truck loads of "stuff" in storage and kept in touch with me to make sure they were going to be available when we finally made settlement. They were originally going to get our necessities to us (fridge, beds, etc.) and then have to piece meal the rest of our stuff over the next week. But lady luck was on our side, they had a cancellation that day, and Tim called me right away to tell that they could deliver the entire load and made sure he had enough men to unload both trucks!!!!!!!! I'd give this moving company 0 stars if yelp would allow it. The owner came and gave us an estimate moving from a two story 1500 square foot twin home. $145 an hour which was comparable to other companies that we looked at. We wanted to use a local company which is why we chose Lee's. The movers complained about having to lift things the entire time. They dame unprepared with one small truck that didn't fit all of our belongings. Another truck showed up along with two more movers because one of the guys on the crew stood on the truck and smoked cigarettes the entire time. When they left to go to the new house, the driver smashed our driveway wall to the point that it crumbled. They damaged a multitude of our furniture and door hinges at the new home. I called the owner Tim and he said he'd send someone to repair it. I asked him if it would be a mason and he said that "he'd send one of his guys". I'm doubtful that being a mover qualifies you as a stone mason. When all was said and done, furniture in the new house, good and damaged, they charged us for an additional mover all due to the fact that the older gentleman on the truck couldn't lift anything and was too busy smoking the cigarettes to bother to help. We tipped the two younger guys on the crew who did the majority of the work and asked them to keep it to themselves. If you're in the market for a moving company, move on and choose someone else. The only good thing about moving is Lee's Moving & Storage. Literally in the blink of an eye they packed and moved our entire house and never stopped smiling the whole time. I watched in awe as the guys carried a full sized refrigerator and freezer up to their truck from our basement and then carried some extraordinarily heavy furniture downstairs and into the same truck. Disconnecting computers was no challenge for them either. We had two of Lee's finest packers on hand a day or so before the move and then they helped unpack and put things away at our new location.
