Love this company! Ok, I've heard/ seen the moving horror stories on tv... This was my first time using ANY moving company- I'm a U-haul and sweat equity type of girl. But I had an armoire, hand carved, from Italy, 30 years old... need professionals. Most movers don't move just one piece. Dan was recommended on Next Door. Quick response, fair price, small window of arrival (we're not talking Comcast here! "sometime between sunrise/sunset"). Courtesy call prior to arrival so I didn't have to be in the area for hours. The truck and workmen showed up, very polite, assessed the situation... This armoire was sandwiched in a small space tighter than a fat ladies foot in a size two shoe. I kid you not! They were careful, not a single nick. I knew that I drive slow- and I had to stop in the storage unit office and notify of closure. They surely were going to beat me home, and I did not want to hold up their day with one more delivery on their schedule. I called the ex to meet the truck, let them in. By the time I arrived, 15 minutes after they did... the piece was in my living room and they were patiently waiting for me. They more than deserved the tip I gave each of them. I will definitely use them in the future. Hire these guys! You won't have to worry about a thing.. not damage, not efficiency, not change in price. This is a company that has high level of integrity. I called Mulhern based on the good reviews - I will recommend Mulhern based on the great job they did with my move. The end cost was exactly what the estimate was and the entire move went smoothly. Making the arrangements with Dan was easy, he returned phone calls and checked in with me before and after the move. The team who came out for the move was professional, quick and friendly. In addition to how efficiently they got the job done and the care they took with my furniture, there were a few stand-out moments: Gary was concerned the truck might not clear the branches hanging over the driveway, instead of risking any minor tree damage, they chose to park on the street and carry everything twice the distance into the new house. I accidentally sent one fellow upstairs with a piece of furniture that should have gone to the basement, he smiled, said "no problem" and carried it back down two flights. The top of a bureau had been loose for years and I pointed it out to them before it was moved, at the end of the move, Lee came back in with tools and a bracket and fixed the bureau top. I'm sure there were more above and beyond situations that occurred, but with the four of them moving so fast, I couldn't keep up with them. They really exceeded my expectations for the day and best of all - nothing was damaged during the move! read more

A perfect moving experience! My fiancee and I recently selected Dan the Mover/Mulhern Moving for a move out of our apartment. This was our first time hiring a moving company for a move. Their customer service and communication were both excellent! Quoted pricing was very reasonable. Dan, Alice, and the Mover's moving crew showed up promptly and worked with great professionalism, care, friendliness, and speed. Great care was taken with preventing damage to items being moved, including wrapping our wooden antique furniture. They were able to get our apartment moved out, and our items moved into our storage unit in under three hours. This is very impressive considering our apartment had two very narrow, steep stairwells that furniture needed to be moved down. If we could give Dan the Mover seven stars out of five, we would! I highly recommend Dan the mover for any moving needs. You need in the area and even possibly further depending on how far they go. I was stressed out because my mover canned on me two days before my move; I called Dan and he immediately helped and came to the rescue. His four movers came on so pleasant, so hard-working and so courteous that it made my move extremely pleasant. I would recommend Dan the mover to anyone and I people need moving needs. The four helpers never took a break. They hard-working. They had to climb some really steep stairs and they do any damage to either the new house that I entered and the old house that I left. We did not have the best moving conditions on the street for them to get to their truck with our heavy furniture, but they maneuvered like true champs. I used Dan the Movers back in the beginning of May but I had so much going on that it took me forever to get to write this review. I was EXTREMELY happy with not only the quote, but the service I received. They went out of their way to make sure my move was the best ever. I didn't realize how far of a walk they had from the parking lot/truck to the door, and didn't express it well during my quote. It should have cost more, but it didn't. Dan also had another big job after mine, so he brought along an extra 2 guys so they could get done faster, and he didn't charge me extra for them. Dan, his wife Alice, and all the workers were very professional and took care in what was being done. I would recommend this company to ANYONE looking to move. This was the first time using Mulherm moving, or Dan The Mover. It was a fantastic experience. Dan sent five men, instead of three and did not charge me any extra for the additional men. This is a family owned business. Dan is honest, upfront, and real. I was quoted a flat rate, and it was spot on. They were efficient, personable, fast and careful with my items. Each one of the men had an expertise, and they worked together really well. I was moved from one apartment to the next within an hour or so. Set up completley. Everything in good order. I will us this company again. I understand that Dan also moves across country, etc. I may be moving to AZ, will definitely use him and his company again. We found Dan the Mover on Yelp and chose the company because of their great reviews. They were able to help us with our move between states. I really appreciated the ability to purchase sofa covers and rent wardrobe boxes right out of their truck on the morning of the move. It was so much easier to throw my entire closet in wardrobe boxes instead of packing it all! The movers were friendly, worked quickly, and took good care of our belongings. They were good about wearing masks and keeping at a safe distance during the pandemic. Nothing at all was damaged. So many good things to say here. First, when I called I was asked if I had flexibility on my move date so we could getthe best rate, who does that? The movers were personable but not chatty so no time wasted. They even took items we did not have marked to go because I was afraid due to sentimental value of super fragile items. The utmost respect and care were taken and my special items were delivered in perfect condition. When placing the furniture, they noted we were ill prepared for our new hardwood floors and placed cardboard under heavy furniture in case we changed our mind about placement. That saved an errand on a chaotic moving day. Definitely the company to call for a stress free move!!! read more

I moved from a 3rd floor apt to a 1st floor last month. The team got to my place on time and went through their checks with me before anything started, which put me at ease because sometimes you see prices change, but Dan the mover kept it at exactly what he estimated me with no extra fees. The team literally only took about 40 minutes to move EVERYTHING out of the 3rd floor apt. Absolutely awesome! And then took even quicker to get everything in my new apt. They even asked if I wanted them to do anything inside once everything was in. Couldn't have had a better team move my stuff. Kept everything safe, and also was very careful not to hit walls/doors. Amazing!!! After all the stress of preparing for my move, A&D Mulhern's Moving helped make our move go as smoothly as possible. They arrived on time with two large trucks and started in immediately. I have a split level home, so there were a lot of stairs to maneuver but the team handled them without any trouble. They disassembled some large pieces of furniture and packed all the glass and fragile items carefully. Dan and his team were very friendly yet professional and amazingly quick. Dan and his staff helped us figure out exactly what we needed to package and move our two bedroom townhouse. We are elderly and unable to do much on our own so price was important and Dan's were very reasonable. The crew was there on time and handled our possesions with care and speed. They set up the beds and hung all of our hanger clothes as well as made sure each box (which we marked) was in the correct room for us to unload. Moving can be so extremely stressful, but hiring real professionals that also showed such care made moving day unexpectedly easy for us. I cannot say enough about how extremely pleased I am with this moving company. I was screwed by another company that didn't show or call on the day of my move. I contacted Dan and he was ready to send his guys out that night to get us moved. The workers for this company were great. They arrived on time and took a few minutes to assess the work and then they worked to complete the job. The men reflected a very positive attitude that was encouraging. I had long dreaded moving and I just could not see anything positive about the experience. Dan the Mover does an incredible job. It is as if a giant vacuum came to your apartment and just sucked out everything. But the great thing is - it all gets moved to your destination without any losses or scratches. Dan's three strong men are Gary, Chris and Lee. They are very friendly and helpful. They wrap the antiques carefully. The computer monitors are placed in bubble wrap to prevent scratches. The computers are carefully boxed. This was my first experience with a mover. I've always did it myself with family and friends .Total mayhem!! Used this family owned moving company twice in 3 years. One experience was better than the next ! Not one negative thing to say from start to finish !
