Wow! Where to begin? I ordered two foot-long subs from Subway the other day. The total bill was $45.41 (including delivery and tip to driver) through Subway's website. I did not realize delivery was by Doordash, otherwise I'd not have placed the order. Anyway, I was contacted by the driver about 40 minutes after I placed the order. He realized he was at the wrong address, and was calling to confirm my address. I gave it to him again, and explained he was several miles to the south of me, and gave him directions. He said he would call Doordash and get back to me. He sent a text several minutes later asking for my "proper"address. I went to Google maps and input my address and got a map with a pin on my house. I took a screen shot and texted it back, with my address, and explained a famous landmark nearby and reiterated he was at the wrong address, and several miles to the south of me. Around that time, I received a call from someone at Doordash (not the driver), and I gave my address, and explained the driver was at the wrong address. To no avail! Some time later, I texted the driver again to confirm he had received the map. He replied he could not deliver to there, and instead delivered to the address Doordash had provided on its map, even though it was the wrong address. We exchanged several texts after that, and in each I sent I asked why he would leave the food at the wrong address after I had told him he was at the wrong address. He just replied each time that I should raise the issue with Doordash and ask for a refund. Not only did he leave the food at the wrong address, he left it at the end of the driveway, at the street (he texted a picture to me). I contacted Doordash, and they admitted it was their responsibility, but that Subway had to issue the refund. Subway seems unwilling to issue the refund. So, Subway got my $45, the driver got his 15% tip (for leaving the food at the end of the driveway of the wrong address), and I got nothing but finger pointing and runaround. Has this soured me on Doordash. You bet. I have saved screen shot of the exchange of texts. I am so furious the driver would just leave the food at the wrong address when knowing it was the wrong address. I am also furious Doordash won't do the right thing and reimburse me for their driver's blatant mistake. I post the text exchange between myself and the driver, cropped to remove his phone number. Keep in mind this exchange occurred about 30 minutes after his call to me, and after I had informed him (for the first time) that he was at the wrong address. read more
