They are always out of things. Always got a bad attitude when taking a order. Pop machine is always leaking.

2/10/26 I came here for lunch as I was in town for work and…read moreso glad that I did. Heavens to Betsy was absolutely fantastic! The ambiance is very inviting and spacious, and the service was very quick and accomadating. I ordered the Reuben sandwich with the tomato basil soup, and both were fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The Reuben was piled high with meat. I had enough left over for another meal! I couldn't leave without trying the red velvet crinkle cookie, and I'm so glad I did. I saved it to share with my husband when I got home, and it was incredible. I found out the owner's daughter, a Culinary Institute graduate, made it, and you can definitely taste the quality. Everything was fresh, homemade, and absolutely worth the visit. I'll definitely be back!

It was a big group and they absolutely nailed it. The next time, we ordered ahead and it still took *forever*. We had to take it to go to make our distillery tour on time. It was thrown together, we didn't have utensils, and I have no idea why it took so long when it was not very busy. We waited significantly longer than the scheduled time and checked in with them multiple times while we waited at a table. They said they were working on it each time, and we only had 4 things in our order. It's not super cheap, and it was just disappointing as a whole. The food wasn't as good as the other times we'd been there and it seemed they just had a really off day.

Today I found a place "where diets come to die a delicious death." It's called Country Crust Bakery…read morein Bainbridge, Ohio, and what a find it was! We were out exploring the area when we stumbled across this charming little bakery run by a group of Amish girls. The moment you walk through the door, your senses go into overdrive. The smell of freshly baked pies, cookies, breads, and pastries fills the air, and I swear I started drooling before I even reached the display case. As I quickly learned, "walking in here with self-control is like bringing a snowball to Florida." It simply doesn't exist! Mine certainly didn't. I ended up leaving with two peach fry pies, a loaf of cheddar jalapeño bread, and a glazed donut. My wife chose one of their giant fresh-baked pretzels with cream cheese. It was served warm and was absolutely delicious. Then I dug into the glazed donut, and wow--light, fluffy, and it practically melted in my mouth. This was our first visit, but there's no doubt we'll be back. In fact, I can easily see us becoming regulars. A quick heads-up: they accept cash or checks, but no credit cards, so plan accordingly. Country Crust also has a cute little café area where they serve pizzas and sandwiches. From what I saw, those sandwiches were absolutely ginormous. I didn't order one this time, but trust me, the brisket on a pretzel bun and the Reuben both have my name written all over them for a future visit. If you're anywhere near Bainbridge and have a sweet tooth--or just appreciate great homemade baked goods--do yourself a favor and make the drive. Your taste buds will thank you, even if your diet won't. "Worth every calorie and every mile driven."

Found this gem on our way to see the Serpent mounds. It's a definite Must stop for yumminess!…read more donuts, breads, cookies, baked goods galore. Prices are low and affordable! Donuts are big and fluffy! Glazed donuts are $10 for a dozen! Wish we tried the pretzels and sandwiches. ***CASH or CHECK ONLY!

Then it closed for awhile and reopened with new ownership. Still, not that many cars in the parking lot. But one time, someone brought Lee's to a gathering and I had one of their biscuits -- ammmmazing! So, for our last meal of the year (after a quick run to Walmart's liquor section to pick up some drinks for the night), I suggested Lee's. Why not? Never tried it before, wouldn't hurt to try it then. Besides, the line at McDonald's wrapped around the block and I didn't feel like waiting forever. And in this town, there aren't too many other options for quick food. We walked into an empty Lee's, but the cashiers greeted us with a smile. Both of us ordered the chicken strips meal with a side (I picked potato wedges, he picked mashed potatoes). We got our meal within moments, which, to me, was a good-sized meal! I couldn't finish it all. And... dum dum dum... it wasn't bad! MUCH better than KFC across the street, in my opinion. We were pleasantly surprised with what we ate and wondered why more people didn't come here. Perhaps it's the reputation. And, well, it DOES seem a bit run down. But not awful. Will we be back? I think it's safe to say Lee's will be part of our fast food rotation in Cynthiana. (And no, I don't have any resolutions to eat well; I'll eat well when I can, but not sticking to any rules. Life's short. Eat and be merry!)
