To our surprise, the non-assuming quiche plate my partner got, and the burger bowl I got, were both delish!! The quiche was simple, but cooked to perfection. It comes with a bowl of side salad with a delicious maple balsamic dressing, a blueberry muffin, and a slice of tomato and lettuce on the plate. The quiche has a nice, homemade crust that's surprising light and just pure goodness. The burger bowl was a deconstructed burger without the bun. I got it with grilled chicken, and it was, of course, cooked to perfection. Juicy and flavorful, which is hard to achieve for most places. The salad was fresh, and the homemade Grumpy's sauce was delicious as well. The waitress was sweet. Service was on point. Price is good. Place is nicely decorated and clean. Both this place and the town of Madison has exceeded our expectations. We will for sure come back when we're around next year.

The room was warmer than the food on the plate. We did feel for the waitress, who was apologetic and doing her best and it was obvious from the looks on the faces at other table that we were not alone in our frustration. Too bad, Madison is a nice area to visit.

Waffle House has become an iconic presence on the culinary landscape here in the southeastern…read moreUnited States. It seems that their familiar logo beckons in all of its bright yellow neon glory road-weary travelers, partying college kids, parents with kids in tow, hungry workers seeking a casual and quick sit-down meal and just about everyone else from every walk of life. This particular Waffle House is located just next to a Best Western Plus. So if you're staying in the hotel, it is a very convenient place to grab a meal. Since Waffle House opened its first location back on September 5, 1955 in Avondale Estates, Georgia, it quickly established itself by offering a consistent selection of food and by being open twenty-four hours a day. For me, the biggest appeal of Waffle House has always been their hash browns, which you can get basic or topped with a variety of toppings such as chili, white sausage gravy, cheese, ham, onions and so many more items and you can combine these toppings in a multitude of ways. For my main course, I have usually gone with their patty melts or one of their egg breakfast options. I myself can see the strangeness that I have never having a waffle and a business where waffle is in their very name, but I prefer a more savory breakfast than a sweet one. If you are in the southeast United States, odds are you have probably passed a Waffle House location. It seems that they are on almost every major highway exit ramp and strategically placed throughout most cities and towns in the southeast. If you see one, give them a try.

However, the portion size was great; a teenager and middle aged man couldn't finish two dishes and a side, which is kinda insane. It was very cheap, large, and tasted extremely good. The service was also amazing; Julia was very kind and attentive; you should give her a raise! Everyone else was also nice, and it was nowhere near understaffed. Overall, the restaurant was clean, just as you might expect from a sit down restaurant. I forgot to take pictures, but I would suggest getting the gravy biscuits, which was a breakfast side.

The coffee was a little too weak for our liking, despite the fact that she assured us she would put in three shots of espresso. But we were not impressed! Maybe they need to check their beans! We ended up buying a bottle of Riesling for 30 dollars. A little pricey, but it is a pandemic and we wanted to support the very eclectic cafe, that made our pit stop worthwhile. As the town doesn't have much else going for it! That cafe gave the town character and it is sorely needed there! If you are reading this review because you are wondering if it is worth the consideration, indeed it is. It is the best thing in town, trust me, we have been there, driven through the town and seen what it had to offer.

Moruna treated us with kindness and patience for a 5-member group, and not knowing our situation. The cozy environment was perfect for some intimate chat. The food and coffee were excellent, quite possibly the tastiest croissant sandwich I've ever had (ham, swiss, and local figs). I loved it so much I was planning on returning the next day on my drive back to Miami from Tallahassee (sadly not open on Sundays). Moruna was especially sweet to offer us some coffee on the house when she learned of the situation with the funeral and our long drives coming up. I absolutely did not expect this level of service, fantastic options, or tasty food; but our entire party was very impressed and happy for the quiet moment in a long day. Needless to say, I definitely asked for a second croissant to go for future consumption. I'm sad I will not be able to frequent this café, but definitely looking forward to stopping in next time I'm travelling the I-10.
