As a full-time Uber driver, I couldn't keep half of it in my car -- it would go bad and make the whole car smell. I ended up throwing it away, which was both wasteful and frustrating. I also asked for the sandwich to be toasted, but it wasn't. On top of that, I mentioned I'd place an order and then use the restroom -- only to find out their restroom was out of order and completely unusable. That was really inconvenient and inconsiderate. This is the Subway Sandwich shop located near Airport Blvd & the Hwy 101 ramps in North Santa Rosa. It's in a tiny commercial plaza along with a Chevron station and a Starbucks. Nice spot to put a fast food place, right near the freeway and down the street from the Sonoma County Airport. I was at this Subway at around 5pm on a Tuesday afternoon. The place actually looked closed from the outside, because the tinted glass made the interior look dark. I decided to check it out, and grab a sandwich. I carry a reloaded Subway gift card in my wallet, so whenever I see a Subway I know I can get a favorite sandwich. I've been to over a dozen Subways, and they're not all the same. I was welcomed as soon as I entered. There were two people working, and an older gentleman took my order and made my sandwich. He quickly asked me all the standard questions. While he was making my sandwich, I walked around and took photos of the place. They seemed interested in what I was doing. They suggested I take pictures of their pretty decor. The dining room was very clean and modern. There's a restroom, but I didn't check it out. I ordered the #23 "Hotshot Italiano." As the "sandwich artist" made my sandwich, he made sure he covered all the ingredients and then asked what extras I wanted. Instead of vinaigrette, I asked for mayo and mustard. I hate to give a 1 star but feel its needed for attention to change. I work close to this store and 3 of 4 times i visit this subway the little asian girl just cant get it. Ive gave numerous attempts but its always the same service. No name tag, she barely speaks english and has messed up my sandwich more times than she has gotten it correct. I ALWAYs order the same thing about 2 to 3 times a week. 2 times she has forgotten egg on my sandwich. When getting to the veggies she digs her hands into the onions after i say only jalapenos. Thats a hug health violation if i were allergic. Ive had to throw away 3 sandwiches because they tasted like onions, or had stems from the jalapenos and have arrived late to work twice. I come here for their $5 foot longs for lunch since it's a cheap lunch when you share it with someone. The line's are very long if you get there right at 12 but if you got 10 minutes before 12 then you're fine. So Subway is generally subway. Relatively ok sandwiches that are pretty good value. My issue with this one is the management. The lady working the till us robotic and cannot smile. The sandwich artists are fine. I just witnessed one of the sandwich folks chopping an avacado into 4 quarters with gloves and wearing a hat. Management who was working the till notices one quarter is larger than the rest so proceeds to grab a knife and without gloves etc chop the large quarter in 2. I'm not sure what is wrong with this Subway, but it could probably use fresh management. I love Subway sandwiches, and I eat them at least weekly. I have visited this location twice and kinda feel like they're ruining the brand. I expect the same sandwich from store to store, but I don't get that here. In this store, they crush their fluffy bread into flat pancakes when they cut. You may as well just order the flatbread sandwich. They skimp tremendously on the meats, putting just a partial scoop on what should be a 2 scoop foot-long. I have to pick different toppings that I'm not particularly fond of because they don't order enough of them and just "run out". The veggies lose their freshness because they are in the tin too long and some just swim in their own juices in nearly empty tins. The sandwiches here are also not very uniform and the ingredients are thrown on pretty sloppy. All in all, I would say get your Subway sandwich in another store. Larkfield has a wonderful store nearby that is Superior to this one that is much MUCH cleaner and they can make your sandwich properly. I'll probably buy my sandwich from a vending machine before buying another one here. Especially after getting over-charged for a sandwich I really didn't even want. This Subway is clean and is next door to a very busy Starbucks that has a drive-thru. If you come here in the morning, do yourself a favor and park away from the building unless you want to be stuck in between cars who are waiting in the Starbucks Drive-Thru line. Nothin really special here but the employees are very courteous and respectful yet some of the sandwich artists do need to learn about spacing out ingredients. My Eleven year old finally said to me after yesterdays visit, "Mom, let's not go to Subway anymore." I am speaking specifically about the one on Aviation, but we have had bad experiences of late at other Subways, as well. The servers need to SLOW DOWN!!!!! Screw the people waiting in line. If someone is paying for a $10 sandwich, you better be making them a sandwich to their liking. Your breads are ALWAYS dry and stale. The tension in your voices,"what else?.... what else?..... what else?...." is uncalled for, making the person ordering the sandwich feel anxious and scared to speak up. I'm kicking myself, because I should have told her, "STOP!!! You shorted me tuna, you put one line of sauce over the sandwich because apparently you don't have time to move your hand from right to left 3 or 4 times over the sandwich???, you threw a few pieces of each item on the sandwich WAY unevenly." If I ask for everything but the jalapenos, it means cover my sandwich with everything but the jalapenos, not three halves of olive slices, 2 pickles, etc...... This sandwich SHOULD be a salad in a sandwich. Please don't just toss a few pieces on. I asked for light mayo. If the bread is stale and dry, you better put enough mayo on there to try and disguise it.....better yet......SUBWAY! You should be serving fresh bread!!
