Let's get this right, the sandwiches are off the hook delicious. I had house sauce dripping down my finger on my hot pastrami and I was sad when I was full and could not finish the last three bites. The bread is fresh and didn't destroy the top of my mouth with the roughness of the crust, which I appreciate in a sourdough roll. Here is what I would critique, The French dip is meat n cheese...it needs more meat. It left my son still hungry. The fountain drink station had watered down Coke zero and lemonade. The teas tasted more like water than tea. We did not know what to do with our stuff on the table once we were done with our meal. We seem to have gotten a bit of attitude from one of the employees as we were leaving because our table was not bussed by us. I would suggest putting up a signage or letting people know when they are served their sandwiches, that when the meal is completed to please throw away your own garbage. This place sucks! Their employees are clueless when it comes to Customer Service. I just finished shopping and was on my way to Jersey Mike's, I saw this place (Sourdough and Co) and thought I would and try them out and give them a try instead. I entered the store around 6:30 PM. As I was ordering I could hear them messing with the chairs behind me in the dining room and didn't think much of it. After I had paid, I turned around and saw all the chairs had now been put away while I was ordering. I asked the them if the dining room was now closed. She told me yes that it closes a half an hour but before the store closes and that my food would have to be to go. I told her she should've said something about closing the dining room when I was ordering. She then told me it was my fault because I didn't read some sign that she said was on the door. I was pretty pissed off. So I asked for my money back and thanked her for wasting my ##%$ time. The girl asked for me to dig back in my pocket and pull out the exact change that I had put away in my pocket already. I told her just to give me my money back. She refused and wouldn't, demanding that I dig through my pockets and pull out the exact change she had given me. After digging through my pockets to get her exact change from the $30 I had paid with, she insulted me calling me a crusty old man. What a bunch of crap. Of course, I returned with a few insults myself. I tried to patronize this business and they give me a bunch of grief. This place sucks, don't go there, they don't deserve my business or anyone else's. They don't understand Customer Service. They shouldn't put the chairs away behind my back or at least let me still eat there (there were still has plenty of time to do so (I would've been long gone before they closed). If they had to close the dining room, they could've just simply told me that when I ordered, most places would've have. There was plenty of time before they closed 12 allowed me to eat in the dining room. Also, I believe the change issues was due that they already reconciled their cash drawer a half an hour before closing, which is not my problem. They should've just apologized and giving me my money back. In contrast, I then went to the place I originally had planned on going (Jersey Mike's) What a difference. They were friendly and very apologetic. The sandwiches were okay, but expensive. In addition, the 6" sandwiches are very small and not very filling. The French Dip was surprisingly bland. But it did have a decent amount of meat. The Rueben had only two thin slices of pastrami. You could barely see or taste it. I've ordered two kinds of their soups; each cup was $5.95. The clam chowder was so bad, we threw it out. The chicken poblano soup was better, but we had to add salt. Bottom line, I won't be back. There are too many other good sandwich shops, including Sazon, which we think is the best in Santa Rosa. This spot was fantastic. The service was thoughtful and fast. I wasn't sure what I wanted on my sandwich but the young lady at the register walked me through each step. She also gave me a quick description of the house mayo they have. I love that they had three sandwich sizes. The 4in was just the perfect size for me. The sandwich was also great. I had a turkey with the house sauce, pepper jack, tomato and onion. Most importantly the sour dough was FRESH. It was great. I love sourdough so I'll remember how good it was. What I would change for next time is adding something with more flavor. Maybe getting mustard or pickles next time as this was a little bland. They tell you that it's 4 ounces of meat on your 8 inch. but don't be fooled, it's 1 ounce. The sourdough bread that you will enjoy is very soft, so any wet ingredients to make it delightfully gummy like a wet piece of wonder bread. As you're checking out, they will ask you how much you'd like to tip the kids preparing your sandwiches so make sure you're very generous before you open your sandwich to see that you should've skipped the tip. Rude. Walked in and ordered not knowing they were about to close in about 20 minutes at 7pm. Food was delivered. A moment later, what I assume was the manager, said their dining room was closing in 15 minutes. We were not told upon ordering. A couple of minutes later said we needed to be out in 5 minutes.
