Such friendly staff, great taste and definitely worth it since it right off the Highway. Better than the subway in my city for sure!

Cute place but people who are not locals get treated differently…read more I wanted a large size sandwich to share with my daughter. They had sandwiches priced by how much meat there was in it. But I asked to see the bread cuz I wanted to know if they had a larger size bread. He said they didn't and they showed me the tiniest little loaf of bread like in a cheap store. And I said is there anything bigger than that and they said no so I ordered the sandwich it was very tiny because we have. You have to put your own condiments on like mustard and mayo and all of that. As I'm doing that I'm looking at sandwiches going out the door there's a big hoagie bun and there's another one that has at least double size white bread so obviously for the locals they will do that but not for people who are travelers. They're advertisement absolutely is not what is real when you get there it fails to impress. Turkey tasted okay but it was nothing special so I wouldn't recommend this place.

After…read moreseeing the high density cramped quarters and smelling the awful stench, let me tell you, I swore off beef then and there! Well, that was four hours back and 300 miles under my tires. That, along with my short memory, is when I saw the sign for Robertsons. Time for a bite to eat. I pulled off the highway and into a gravel parking lot. There before me was a rustic looking building that looked like it was in serious need of some paint. But, as they say, dont judge a book by its cover. It's what's on the inside that counts. Besides, a little weathered wood just adds to the ambiance. Don't get fooled by the face of Robertsons. The heart beats soundly. When I went inside, I noticed that the chalkboard menu had a number of different offerings. It was when I saw BBQ beef that I knew that I had to give it a shot. The memory of the feedlot had long since faded. As did the stench of the cattle wallowing in their own filth. But hey, didn't I mention that it's what's on the inside that counts? Well, I found that the inside of a bovine can barbecue up quite nicely. I got the bbq sandwich, and it was superb. You should get one, or maybe even two! Quick Tip: If you're tempted to get gas at the Loves next door, don't. Go to the next exit and buy your gas at Stuckeys. It's like 20 cents a gallon cheaper. The money you save will help pay for your sandwiches. Or that Pecan Log Roll if Stuckeys draws you inside.

I'm feeling pretty conflicted about this review because my experience at this restaurant was a…read moremixed bag--some aspects were great, and others definitely need attention. Let me start with the positive: The Good: When I first pulled up to the building, I was impressed. The exterior looked nice, the parking lot was clean, and the place was buzzing with activity. There were a lot of cars outside, and there was a line for seating, which let me know this place is pretty popular. Since I was in a bit of a hurry, I asked if I could place an order to-go, and they were more than happy to accommodate. I ordered the catfish dinner, which came with French fries, coleslaw, hush puppies, a warm buttered roll, and even a couple of beignets. The catfish was decent--not the best I've ever had (I've got a pretty high bar for that), but it was tasty enough that I'd go back if I had the chance. The hush puppies were on point, and I appreciate that they didn't skimp on the portions. The inside of the restaurant was decorated with a cute, Ozark-lake theme, which added a charming touch. They also have a small gift shop with reasonably priced, locally made souvenirs, which I thought was a nice bonus. The young lady who took my order was polite, had a sweet smile, and was very friendly--definitely added to the positive experience. The Not-So-Good: Now for the part I don't like writing--the negatives. While I don't like focusing on the bad, there are some things that need to be addressed, particularly the cleanliness. The condition of the bathroom was a letdown, to say the least. There was a disposable toilet seat cover with feces on it lying on the floor, and that was enough to make me do a double take. On top of that, the door handles, doorjambs, and the entryways into the kitchen looked like they hadn't been properly wiped down in a while. There was a vent cover in the men's bathroom that was in rough shape, and, most importantly, there was no soap available to wash your hands. For a busy place like this, you'd think they'd be on top of those things. It wasn't a dealbreaker for me, but it's definitely a concern that needs to be addressed for the sake of cleanliness. Final Thoughts: All in all, the food was decent, the prices were good, and the staff was friendly. The bathroom situation didn't ruin the experience for me, but it's something that definitely needs improvement. I would go back again if I'm in the area, but I hope they address these issues for the sake of future customers.

The menu board had plenty of options that caught my eye, but I knew the mission when I walked through the door -- BURGER! I ordered the Oklahoma Smashie, a double smash burger with two beef patties, American cheese, grilled onions, pickles and Goose Sauce. This was a very tasty burger! The patties had those crispy edges you want from a smash burger, the cheese was melted perfectly, and the pickles and sauce pulled everything together. For my side, I went with the cucumber salad. I really wanted to like this one, but unfortunately it was the slight disappointment of the meal. It wasn't bad, it just didn't hit the same level as that burger. The Goose describes itself as a dive bar and sandwich shop, but I actually found the place pretty interesting. It has that comfortable neighborhood-joint feel -- nothing fancy, just a cool place to sit down, grab some food and enjoy lunch with a friend. Service was also excellent. The person working the counter was friendly, answered all of our questions and offered some great suggestions without rushing us. Overall: 4 's from me. The Oklahoma Smashie definitely delivered, and looking at everything else on that menu, I've already got a few reasons to come back. This one is absolutely getting a return visit!

We visited for lunch on Friday and there was a long line but it moved very quickly and we were able to find a seat with no problems. Outside there was a live musician performing and it was mainly covered. Of course we had to try the Vulcan sandwich (they're known for it) and we also tried a baked potato and another sandwich. We were SO impressed! When they came out, they looked like regular sandwiches but surpassed our expectations with the fresh and delicious flavors. Love this local, casual sandwich spot and would enjoy bringing friends back here.
