Store was clean, fast service and did well with our order. For two staff and two food options- pizza or subway, they did well.

Great service and quality food! They also have pizza and ice cream in the same building. No complaints at all. Will definitely return.

I don't know many restaurants that would happily take a call saying, "Our night just went sideways and we have 19 people to feed." Honestly, I probably would have been a little annoyed myself. But from the moment we arrived at Mermaids Island Grill, we were met with nothing but kindness and hospitality. The young ladies taking our order were friendly and welcoming, the bartenders kept the drinks flowing, and the servers delivered piping hot food with smiles on their faces. Every single person in our group loved their meal. With 19 people ordering from all over the menu--calamari, fried pickles, crab legs, grouper, fried shrimp, hushpuppies, and more--that's no small feat. What stood out most wasn't just the food (which was excellent), but the service. We were never rushed, despite arriving so close to closing, and the staff continued chatting and smiling with us as we left. Mermaids Island Grill completely turned our evening around. 10/10 for both the food and the hospitality. We'll definitely be back.

The first thing I noticed was when I was ordering, they charge extra for tea. That was a shocker to me because all of the other Bojangles' I have ever been to in my life give a free tea with any chicken dinner. Which meant the same chicken dinner at every other Bojangles' that I paid $6 for, cost me $7.50 here if I want something to drink other than water. I fell out laughing when this other customer came in behind me and was also shocked and amazed that the chicken dinner he was ordering didn't come with a drink The next thing was that service was not the fastest, or best at this location. I honestly thought that the location had just opened, service was so bad. But one guy in line waiting said," no, they opened last year, and were an established location, the staff here was just not trained very well." They were not busy, but were moving slow, and screwing up orders. One older lady asked for fries with no seasoning. She had to bring them back because I saw the guy putting extra heavy seasoning on the fries. I almost had a high blood pressure heart attack just watching him put the seasoning on the fries. So I would order fries with no seasoning at this location also, and just add it myself. The last thing was that at all the other locations, they have somebody working the dining room, taking up trays, talking to customers, etc. That was part of the Bojangles' feel and charm. They cut that out at this location. I guess they want it more like a McDonald's or Hardees. If I am ever passing by here again and decide I really want some Bojangles' I would get it to go, and just get my drink from a gas station. #389

We walked up to the register as soon as the cashier had finished up with the customer before us. She walked away, she was away from the register for at least 10 minutes. My son walked over to the drive thru area to ask if there was someone that could take our order. He was polite, not rude in any way. He let them know that we had been waiting for a bit and that customers were leaving. The manager told him Hardees was across the street. So RUDE! If this establishment does not do an overhaul of the building, their food, and especially their customer service, they will be out of business by the end of the year. This place will not be getting my family's business anymore.

A very long wait for delivery (may be due to Saturday arrivals/multiple delivery orders) but the pizzas were not hot and not what we expected when delivered. Adequate tasting pizza. The Deets: We usually get pizza our first night arriving in Holden Beach and this time was not different. However, this time we decided to go with trying some place new in Sorella Pizza & Pasta (I would have preferred a pasta/meal from here but house ruled pizza, I go with the flow). Choices were made with the Hawaiian Punch 16" pizza (ham, pineapple, bacon, shredded mozzarella, tomato sauce from online menu) and the Holden Beach Hammer 16" pizza (online menu described as their "everything" with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, peppers, onions, black olives, tomato sauce). I can understand that Saturday arrival can be a busy day for restaurants doing delivery and it was explained that it would take a long while. But it was at least an hour and half or more, and the house was getting restless. The delivery person apologized for the long wait time and we appreciated that. When we opened up the two pizzas, first of all noticed they were not hot. Again, there were a lot of deliveries I am guessing but it definitely was not hot and with it being just down the road a bit, a bit disappointing. The Hawaiian Punch pizza was the one that did not really meet everyone's expectations. The crust, while thin, seemed to be a bit underdone. If I get a thin crust pizza, I do expect it to be crispy as well. Also the toppings were a bit underwhelming as well but I found the taste adequate for being hungry, I had a couple of slices. The Holden Beach Hammer pizza was more of a rectangular pizza in appearance and the crust was significantly thicker and more doughy (personally, not my favorite type of pizza crust). The toppings seemed OK but not over generous for what was described, however tasted adequate again. It may be chalked up to a very busy Saturday arrival day time, but I feel this delivery pizza experience was more around an "OK" one if anything. I am hoping to try Sorella in the future where I can get one of the Italian pasta or meal menu selections to see how they do with those.
