Stopped in on Saturday to pick up a quick lunch for the road. The shop wasn't terribly busy. I was greeted by a friendly staffer who took care of me. I wish I had grabbed his name because he was super friendly and helpful. Subway has a lot of healthy options which is what I needed today. You can certainly go the other way loading up on lots of meats, cheeses, sauces etc.. Basically, there is something for everyone when you go in a group. Drive through speaker doesn't work so you have to pull up to the window to order. It's been that way for over a year and I'm used to it and actually like ordering at the window. Over the past six months or so the quality of food has gone down a bit a they sometimes don't have all the ingredients to make the sandwiches. Today I pulled up to the window and waited for 20 minutes and no one came to take my order although they did look at me while serving other customers. I get it, they're busy. But to continue taking everyone's orders that showed up after I've been sitting there is pretty rude. It's a subway, so you know what you're in store for. This one was great, though, maybe better than most others. First of all, it was super clean. Second, the staff behind the counter were friendly and eager to help. Third, they made the sandwich exactly as I ordered it, without me having to repeat myself, or ask for more pickles after I asked for extra pickles. That's key, I think. :) This one has a drive-thru. Not sure I'd make use of that, since I love how at subway you can basically make your sandwich in front of your own eyes. The first thing I noticed about this Subway was that it had a "drive thru". Personally I wouldn't like to have my sandwich made without being able to see it.... there are so many things that could go wrong: what if they put olives on my sandwich or forget to add extra pickles? Anyway there weren't very many customers at this location but there were a lot of employees working. The first girl couldn't hear very well so we had to repeat what we wanted multiple times which was kind of annoying. I came in with a small catering order last minute and they were able to get it done for me and while being friendly and conversational.

First there are not too many options in Walsenburg. On a Sunday at noon there were two employees. That is it! No way to handle the lunch rush. Line was very long and the building so hot. They had all the ovens open for the bread to cool. When only two employees the process is very slow. Took about 45 minutes to get our sandwiches. The line was only getting longer. Besdie the heat of the buidling and the slowness, a typical Subway. Oh minus they were out of two kind of bread and certain size of cups for drinks. Why do you only have two employees at noon on a nice summer weekend? We will not be back! read more

Ordinarily, decent fast food joints get average (3) stars from me, but I appreciated the positive attitude exuded by the employees this past Sunday morning. The two staff members working the counter were very friendly and warned us ahead of time that their toaster was not functioning. It's a Subway, so food-wise, nothing was unexpected and nothing stood out. My sandwich met my expectations, and the ingredients appeared fresh enough. AVOID THIS PLACE! It was FILTHY - at the height of the coronavirus epidemic every table was dirty and not cleaned. The bathroom was also very dirty, hardly and soap in the dispensed (don;t they know we are supposed to WASH our hands?) The staff were overworked - only one person seemed to be there at a time and they were serving customers and making sandwiches so they could hardly clean the place. Many ingredients were missing (tomatoes and spinach for starters.) The staff were NOT to blame - this is obviously a management issue. Gave them two tries thinking the first time was just a bad day. We ordered sandwiches this past Friday while doing some remodeling work at home. My sandwich was so soggy with the topping that the bread fell apart and the contents spilled onto my shirt. My nephew then said "Is this supposed to be chicken? I am not sure." We had 3 mediocre sandwiches after waiting 20 minutes in drive-thru. Fast forward to today. I guess they do believe in the "slow food" movement here, pun intended. Went inside today to get a salad and the 4 sandwich orders in front of me took 20 minutes. When it came time for my salad, he was reaching into the lettuce tray that was almost empty for some water logged trailings in the bottom. I said I wanted fresh lettuce, so did he dump out the old gnarly stuff. Why do that when you can add to the top and let it ferment some more! Most of the vegies looked battle worn and I got a look of amazement when I asked him to please go get some cucumbers. Fool me twice, shame on me. No third chance will ever be given at this store. I hope this makes this to the right people. I believe these two employees deserve some huge recognition. My husband and I were in the Walsenburg, Colorado location on Sunday around 2:45pm while driving back home to Denver. There were two employees, Da'shaun and Jayden and about 15-20 customers. They did a fantastic job getting the customers in and out and never made it seem like we were an inconvenience. I am a general manager at firehouse subs in Thornton, Colorado and I know how it can be to be busy and there being only two people. They were great and completely killed it. Even as a competitor sandwich shop employee, I have to give credit where it is due. Amazing job Da'shaun and Jayden.! They were trained perfect and performed perfect. read more

Worst experience ever! The employees were going slow as possible and were visiting the whole time. Couldn't care less that we stood in line for 20 minutes there was one customer in front of us and we were here for almost 30 minutes once they finished making our food. Subway should be a quick stop for a bite to eat, instead we waited 25 minutes for a line of 4 customers. The staff had no sense of urgency to serve the customers.
